No Ordinary Family: ABC Exiles Episode to Saturday

No Ordinary FamilyAs if there weren’t enough signs already that ABC’s No Ordinary Family is doomed to be cancelled, the network has given us another one.

The TV series, about a super-powered family, has been struggling in the ratings for quite awhile and currently averages just a 1.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 6.67 million viewers. Last week’s episode attracted only a 1.2 demo rating. ABC also recently cut the episode order from 22 to 20 installments.

Just days after production wrapped on what will likely be the final episode of No Ordinary Family, the show’s stars signed on for new CBS shows. Michael Chiklis will star in a new sitcom pilot called Vince Uncensored. Julie Benz has signed on for an as-yet-untitled supernatural medical drama, co-starring Patrick Wilson. (These are technically in second position but it’s certainly not a good sign.)

And now, ABC has decided to air the second-to-last season episode on a Saturday night. The network has pre-empted No Ordinary Family on March 29th with an hour special, Dancing with the Stars: The Story So Far. There are two episodes left so one will air this Saturday, March 26th, at 10pm. The finale will then air on Tuesday, April 5th, at its usual time.

What do you think? Is there still a chance that No Ordinary Family will be renewed?

I will be highly ticked it No Ordinary Family is cancelled. This show in my opinion has to be one of the best shows on the station and if they cancel they have lost a viewer for sure. I’m so stired of these networks coming out with a really good show then only giving them 1 shot to make the cut…if you give them more backing they would prove to be a real winner for the network….it sucks all around

Love this show! It’s interesting and perfect mix of science and powers! I love the characters and it’s becoming more complex! I want to know what happens to George! This can’t be the last season. This series is way better than some that won’t get cut!!!

Here’s the problem.. ratings are not calculated properly anymore. Most people watch a show on PVR/DVR, download it on netflix, or just plain download them, and according to ABC ratings are low. Meanwhile they have NO idea how many people are actually following the show (just like flashforward) and so they cancel it. TV is on its last legs, i’m telling you. They need to find an alternate way to make money (without commercials) so they can move to internet only TV.

I have seen many shows and a lot of shows that are on television now these days are crap! And there are rarely shows that are appropriate for the whole family. My whole family and I love this show it is entertaining and just plain good TV. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not cancel this show, I will be so disappointed!

Stupid reality TV (DWTS, TBL) is killing fun, creative shows. No Ordinary Family has had a bad time slot, because of the established competition. Also despite the excellent premise, the show started slow and it seem nothing ever happened. Now that it finally the pace has picked up (ironically it could be because the cut episodes) We look forward to watching it every week. It would be unfair not to let it live on its own merits and cancel it because of the mistakes of programming executives.

Renewed by ABC, not a chance. Picked up by someone else? Maybe.

Wow, I’m shocked that the ratings were so low. I’m 50 years old and watch this show every Tuesday night. It’s good family entertainment. Not trash like “Dancing with the Stars”. Who wants to watch a few ex jocks and former decent actors parade around acting like idiots? Not me. Everything else on ABC sucks. Guess I’ll just watch the cable networks.

Amo, i completely agree with you. iv already written an angry letter to ABC. and about flashforward too.. that was sooo good.
ABC doesnt really advertise for no ord. fam. they should change the time, so that its not playing at the same time as glee, which no new show can compete with (not even this awesome one). so if they made a few changes, everything would be better.
i would like to end by saying: IF ABC ENDS THIS SHOW, I’LL NEVER WATCH ANOTHER ABC SHOW AGAIN. NO MORE MR. SUNSHINE (WHICH REALLY ISNT HALF AS GOOD) NO MORE DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES (WHICH WAS STUPID ANYWAY) AND NO MORE WIPEOUT (WHICH WAS.. ACTUALLY OK.) *EVER AGAIN*
