I never used to watch october road, being honest here. then one day, nothing else was on tv so hey i decided to watch it, i was stunned because immediately i was drawn to the show and from then on i watched it every oppurtunity, i got to season 2 episode 13 then hey guess what? where’s the rest of the show?? not cool guys, not cool.

I was drawn into the characters of this show immediately. There was a sincerity and warmth and innocence of youth. I’d trade every one of those shallow reality tv shows for just one more season of October Road. October Road, you will be sorely missed.

I am very greatful for the season closure, but am also very sad that the show will end in 15 minutes. October road meant so much to me and many others…This was such a good hearted sweet show. So very orignal and moving, ABC can not accept any show that is’nt a cop or doctor show. I know I will always rememeber this amazing show. I’m so sad

With all the things going on in our world, including family, political, financial and moral issues. it was nice to watch, no, get really involved with a show where life was real,,real and simple like it was in years past. Sure, you have problems, but with the love & support from friends & family… you get by. October road was real, and helped us to remember what things in life are real and important. I agree with everyone who said it would be a great show for family or lifetime. Come on networks that believe in and thrive upon the stories of real life. without all the violence, etc… work October Road back into your schedules, so we can work them back into our hearts!!

This was the best show I have seen in a long time . If it was marketed correctly it would have been as sucessfull as other dramas such as Dallas, Greys etc. But what I can’t believe is that none of the smaller networks took advantage of the huge mistake ABC has made and pick up this show. Just look at all the crap that is on. What a shame!

I too am very UPSET about hearing that, once again, ABC has AXED a show in its prime. To make it worse is the fact that all its fans are kept hanging to many unanswed questions. It is appalling that none of the other networks did not want to pick it up, such as Lifetime or Family. I am beginning to wonder if they even othered to search for other avenues to revive this series. Everytime I like a show they CANCEL it. Yet, they bring back a show like Big Bang Theory. It also doesn’t help that there were large time spans between airing of episodes. Even my husband was a big fan of the show and we are in our early fifties.

I am really going to miss this show. It brought me back to my childhood days and I felt as though It was my small home town. I really like the twists of the show and how all the characters intertangled together. It actually make me sad to hear this show is cancelled. But, I hope to see the finale. I hope they put it out soon!
TV stinks this year and now I don’t care to watch any TV….back to renting movies…

I am disappointed to hear that October Road will not be returning. I am a big fan of the show and so many people from all of Canada loved the show. You probably don’t get the ratings shown from Canada down in the US but there are alot of us that enjoy stories of family and friends living and going through every day lives. I hate reality tv. We need more enjoyable entertainment such as October Road. It would be great if another network would pick the show up. ABC used to be my favorite network now I watch less tv shows on this network.

I am very sorry to hear that October Road will not be back this season. It was a really great show that I looked forward to seeing and recording every week!The actors were a great crew together great chemistry between them all. I even got my husband watching it. We loved the music and the friendship it all had. I sure hate to see a Finale I wish it could be given another chance even if it will be at a later time. I don’t want to see the show fast forward just to have closure I rather enjoy all the episodes. ABC you have got to do something right and stop canceling good shows just for the money!

I’m very upset that abc decided to cancel October Road. They deserved another chance to get more viewers. If it weren’t for the writer’s strike, the show would have done well. Everytime I get involved in a T.V. show, abc goes and cancels. First it was What About Brian?, and now October Road. Maybe I should just start watching NBC!

ABC ruined this show. Of course they had a small viewer base. They did half seasons and spaced out the season over 8 months if not longer.
My wife and I loved this show. Why couldn’t ABC do things like they did in the past. This is all ABCs marketing fault!

I am so upset that this show has been cancelled. This was my new favorite show and my husband’s as well! I am so sick and tired of watching stupid reality shows, medical dramas and legal/CSI dramas. This show and Friday Night Lights were the two shows that left me wanting more – when the show ended every week. Although FNL has been picked up on the Directv channel 101, October Road has not been picked up (to my knowledge) by an other channel. Will I ever know what happened between Janet & Eddie or who Sam’s father is or if Hannah and Nick will get together?????? I am so mad. I don’t think I would be as upset if the show had an ending to it but they led me to believe that it would be back for another season!!!

They aired season 2 after mostly reruns of the worst season of Greys ever in the midst of an entertainment crisis and then expected it to do better then the season before and blamed the show for the drop in ratings. They never gave it a fair chance. They should have left October Road and cancelled the horribly declining Greys. I wish the CW would have picked it up. It belongs there anyhow.

I was disapointed that October road was not on the ABC list this season.
The last season left us wanting and expecting another run.
I personally enjoyed watching October Road, I loved the way the writers placed in alot of the 80′’s music.
I would have choosen music from the Seatle sound, bands like Pearl jam, Sunken Garden, Alice in chains, etc. etc.
October road happens to take place in the early 90’s and so forth, so grudge would have fit pretty well. Music had a lot a heart and meaning, just like the music from the 80’s.
So if you could please bring back October road with all it’s original actors.
If you cannot sell them to ABC take it to the CW or anyone else, who can appreciate a good story.

It makes me not even want to watch Any of the new shows. I also think it is bull when they only give you an Ending that you have to buy to see. My husband Also Loved the show and watched it Every Week with me. Can you please start thinking about the FANS and Not just what show you are going to Try the next season. I’m still waiting to hear when the questions will be answered. I hope they put it on tv and not just the internet or on your cell phone. I am a 32 year old mom of 3 under 3, that works full time, and this was one show that I really enjoyed. (Even my husband got into it.) It was one show that I couldn’t wait until the following week to see and sink into like a book. I do not have a lot of extra time on my hands and it was nice to escape into a story with some depth to it and not another reality show that makes no sense. I really wish that another network would pick it up. My fingers are crossed for Lifetime!!!

Why would you cancel one of the best shows? So that all is left is a mish mosh of doctor/uglybetty/boring dancing/american idol. Is this the way TV is heading? THAT’S PLAIN OLD SAD. Not only did I look forward to the show each week, it was the ONLY show of the whole week I watched with excitement and anticipation. I truly enjoyed the cast and the storyline and loved wondering what the answers were to all of my questions.

Shame on you ABC, you’re turning into the next CW-UPN 9-Fox.

I can’t believe it either. I LOVE this show. The characters are so unique and fun to watch. Each week, I just couldn’t wait until the next week. How can they wrap it up in 15 minutes! Get real! What a disappointment. I loved this show. It is disheartening to me the level of attention reality shows get, and medical drama shows that have nothing based on real life (what an oxymoron)! Nevertheless, I would really like to see a third season of October Road. To cancel this series when it was never given a chance (the writers strike with a mid-season pick-up) is hardly fare. The writing, acting, and plot are a great asset to television. Viewers deserve more then a 15 minute ending hastily written and without proper time to allow that characters to fully evolve.

I can’t believe that they are cancelling such a great show. October Road was the highlight of my week and it saddens me that I will have many questions unanswered. I feel that every show I start to watch they always end it too soon. I think I will just stick to movies that have endings or read books that I can start and finish on my own. I am tired of this big networks having way too much say. It is a shame if ABC doesn’t reconsider and I will have to maybe look for a different network to watch if I consider to watch TV.

It is heartening to read all these posts about October Road. I guess I wasn’t really surprised to find out I will only be watching one hour of television each week since Grey’s Anatomy is all I have left to look forward to. Men in Trees and October Road seemed to offer something to actually think about, like a good book, and those of us who got interested in the story line and characters do not even have the benefit of a final chapter. This epilogue sounds like an afterthought at best, but if it happens it will be better than a good book with the last half ripped out, which is what I feel we have now. I suppose I should be glad for all the extra time I will now have not watching these two fine shows or the commercials I had to endure to enjoy them.

Just a heads up for all Roadies who are just finding out ABC has cancelled “October Road” (whether you are a long-time fan or have just recently come into the fold) to drop by afterwards to the official “October Road” message board on abc.com. (Yes, we’re still there. Go to Google and type in ?October Road ABC message board?.) The first round of a massive letter-writing campaign to ABC (specifically Stephen McPherson, President of ABC Primetime and Anne Sweeney, President of the Disney-ABC Television Group) was about a week ago (for the target dates of September 11th and 12th). The next round of letter writing will be for October 9th to coincide with the premiere of the new ABC drama “Life on Mars” from Scott Rosenberg, Andr? Nemec, Josh Appelbaum, and Jonathan Murphy (”Ronnie Garrett”). Look for my thread entitled “Second massive letter-writing campaign to ABC is on October 9″. While filming has not started yet for the 15-minute epilogue (they have been hoping to start filming in late September to be put on the Season 2 DVD but their availability may delay it a bit; they are however committed to get this filmed for us) and it has been confirmed that all unanswered questions left hanging will be answered, in an response to a question about campaigning further, co-creator Scott Rosenberg has asked us to keep fighting for a return. He added that he, Josh, and Andr? can multi-task “Life on Mars” and another season of “October Road”. So this date is extremely important and could be a milestone for “October Road” fans.

I hope you’ll join us for the October 9th campaign. Please let everyone you know about this and recruit new fans to “October Road” in the process before and after this date. Thanks.

I CANNOT BELIEVE yet another good quality show is being cancelled! I LOVED OCTOBER ROAD and have been waiting for it’s return. I am so tired of these Television stations canceling things that are actually enjoyable to watch. I should just go back to READING BOOKS MORE OFTEN – AT LEAST THEN ITS MY CHOICE – not some exec who doesn’t have a clue. Oh and by the way – I AM THE DEMOGRAPHIC YOU LOOK( 18-49) TO AND I AM SICK OF IT!

I can not believe that they would cancel such a good show . It seems like unless there is no violence in a show its not popular with the network. Any show that has is family oriented just doesnt appeal to the people who decide what we should see. Forget about teaching good values, lets teach people how to kill or cheat someone . Those are the things were are made to watch , because when we finally get something that has values its taken away from us. Please dont take this show off I have been waiting all summer for the return of this show.

Finally a show that you could truly connect with. There was no sugar-coating ooey goodness. It was rough, when they were mad, they were mad. No one loved one day and then broke and remained happy-go-lucky friends. That’s not life and they showed that. Not everything has a happy ending, not everything can be smoothed over. It takes work and determination. Thank you for showing that, but unfortunately, you also chose to take it away.

Figures…ABC loves to cancel the good shows. I was very disappointed that they cancelled October Road and Men in Trees. I’ve seen every episode of both shows and loved them! They offer no closure and just yank them off the air… and never really let anyone know until you start searching on the internet. Let’s boycott ABC. i am really upset the show cancelled as well. It was a good story and I was interested in seeing how it ended. I also really enjoyed watching it and I loved the characters. I cant believe people didnt though but i blame it on the time and day of the show. Monday nights people are busy or they had a long day at work because that seems to be the day where you always get out late and people are tired. I think it was a show based on real life, unperfect relationships, etc.. and thats I liked about it. Greys anatomy was good but now its starting to be the same old thing and not that good, so i think october road was different and i really enjoyed that. Hopefully lifetime takes the show over or we are able to see the finale on line. I do what to see how it ends but i also wanted to see inbetween, so this makes me sad:( … goodbye october road.

I even had my work schedule made so I was off on Thursday nights so I could watch it. ABC needs to reconsider this. I mean come on they STILL bring back 2 of the dumbest shows I’ve ever seen Bachelor and Bachellorette. October Road was like what actually happens in this world. I am seriously disappointed.

I’m sort of happy to see this show come to an end. I watched it faithfully, enjoying each show. But they never seemed to want to answer the question of who Sam’s real father was. They managed to bring up the subject in just about every episode. I think this show could’ve gone on for 5 more seasons continuing to drag out the baby daddy drama. I’ll miss the characters, but not much the repetitive story line.
