The alphabet network has been searching for a new hit hour series and it looks like they may have found one in Once Upon a Time. The drama debuted late last month to very positive numbers and now, things are looking better than ever.
Once Upon a Time revolves around the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming as she tries to help a group of fairy-tale characters who’ve been cursed and ended up living in a small town in Maine. The series features the talents of Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Morrison, Robert Carlyle, Lana Parrilla, Jared Gilmore, Josh Dallas, Raphael Sbarge, Meghan Ory, Jamie Dornan, Beverley Elliott, Lee Arenberg, David Paul Grove, and Gabe Khouth.
The series debuted to a very healthy 4.0 in the 18-49 demographic with 12.93 million viewers. Once Upon a Time was second in the timeslot, beaten only by NBC’s World Series coverage. The second episode dropped just 2% with a 3.9 in the demo and 11.74 million. Second episodes usually see a much bigger drop off.
The Sunday night TV series is currently the second-highest rated scripted TV show on ABC so it’s no surprise that network execs have given it a full season, bringing the total to at least 22 episodes. If these numbers keep up, the show could certainly be the Prince that the network’s been waiting for.
Sitcoms Happy Endings and Last Man Standing also received full season orders today.
What do you think? Are you a fan of Once Upon a Time? Are you glad to hear that it’s gotten a full season? Do you think it’ll get renewed for a second season?

i watch every episode passionately as do I rewatch the episode the day
prior to the new episode just to be certain I didn’t miss anything important.
All I can say … This show is the best …
Omg i absolutely love this show!! I honestly can re-watch the same episode over and over again!!! BEST EVER!!!!
This show is awesome ! I love it <3 … I really want a new season , this is such a good show and i'm praying for it to be renewed for a second season
I LOVE this show! I think that the acting is wonderful, I adore the queen she is such a great wicked character! I just don’t like that the actress who plays Emma Swan always looks like she’s frowning! Its the same expression with her over and over, but I think that’s just the way her face is. I’m annoyed that the “innocent” and “honorable” Prince Charming and Snow White are committing adultery in this show. I’m sick and tired of TV that champions those who disprespect marriage and the meaning of it to such a wide audience. This show bothers me especially as these particular characters are supposed to uphold what is good in society and they are participating in what is bad. Other than that, I love how each episode reveils just a little of a characters story back in Fairy Tale Land and the real world. I hope that they have many more seasons!
When it first started I thought the acting was terrible. The concept was good but the acting sucked. However, now, on the 16th of February, I am completely hooked. The acting has gotten much better… or I just don’t notice anymore. lol. I guess it stuck out so bad because the blonde (Emma) was a major character and the actress that plays her was practically reading her lines. Now, there are so many characters, and the plot has developed. I think it has taken Lost’s place in my heart.
I’m glad to hear it is doing well; whenever I like something it gets cancelled. I hate average t.v. shows. I’m so sick of cops, lawyers, idiots and housewives. Though I gave the first two much more of a chance. I don’t even think the housewives deserve that much. And I don’t think watching idiots on t.v. constitutes a “comedy.”
