“Orange is the New Black” follows engaged Brooklynite Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling), whose decade-old relationship with drug-runner Alex (Laura Prepon) results in her arrest and 15-month long detention in a federal penitentiary. To pay her debt to society, Piper must trade her comfortable New York life with fiancĂ© Larry (Jason Biggs) for an orange prison jumpsuit and a baffling prison culture where she is forced to question everything she believes and form unexpected new alliances with a group of eccentric and outspoken inmates. The series’ diverse ensemble also includes Kate Mulgrew, Natasha Lyonne, Pablo Schreiber, Danielle Brooks, Laverne Cox and Taryn Manning.

The second season of “Orange is the New Black” is set to begin production later this summer.

“Orange is the New Black” is executive produced by Kohan. The series is produced by Lionsgate Television for Netflix.

The first 3 or 4 episodes were good, all the way until the episode with the mythic chicken. But, then the show fell apart. During the episode that opened with a dirty picture of someone’s ******, my wife and I could not finish watching the show, it was so very bad. We watched almost half of it and then turned it off, gave the show a low score, and removed it from our Netflix streaming list.

Orange is the New Black does not belong in the same sentence with House of Cards.

The ending to the last episode made my night. Anyways, I wonder if she actually kills her? I was thinking how they would make it so they would extend her sentence within the show (obviously because its only a 15 month sentence so how could they make anymore than one season out of it, especially since when they ended it they must have been at least 7 months or around there into her sentence) and that was the perfect way. I see her transformation as sort of a breaking bad / lawyer from the show OZ type transformation and its cool. Great show, I watched it in 2 days and will do the same with the second season.

Awesome show!! My friend had told me about it and said I must watch it, so I did and the show just made me want to finish the entire season in one day. I found some will power and watched the season in 3 days instead but know I finished watching the season I want more. I do not want to wait until 2014 to watch the second season it is a little depressing because I may forget about it by then and miss my chance of watching the second season. :(
I would recommend this series to others!
