Just finished watching the two seasons on Netflix. I am a fan of The Good Wife so I started watching because it was recomended to me and I LOVED IT!!! Hard to believe TNT didn’t give it more promo time as this was the first time haring of the series. Love the cast, writing and story lines. What a shame it only lasted two seasons

My wife and I watched the entire series on Netflix and loved it. Never heard of it on TNT. It seems that cable has a problem since it doesn’t get to everyone, however, with all the PAP (American Idol, Big Brother, Dog, the Bounty Hunter, and the myriad of reality shows) on TV today I cannot believe that a show as well done as “Raising the Bar” was cancelled after only two seasons. The cast was fabulous, the stories fresh and the issues timely. Oh yeah, I guess it was too sophisticated for America’s viewing audience, bring on reruns of LaVerne and Shirley.
Thank God for British TV.

My husband and I are watching on Netflix.. and believe me they missed the ball with this series.. it is excellent.. and yet they leave junk on.. come on now..get real….maybe if you pumped up the series more people would have gotten into it.. There are still so many stories left to tell here.. bring it back.. and what a cast, fantastic. I wish another network would get it going again so we can have some real TV back on again..so disappointed that it is over.

I LOVE this show. The acting and writing are so much better than anything I’ve seen for a while. I, too, watched on Netflix and was shocked and deeply disappointed to read that it was canceled after only two seasons. I hope TNT will give it another go. This show has a lot of heart. It ended WAY too soon.

I bought both seasons on DVD and couldn’t wait to get back to watch it each time.

Excellent drama

I was very disappointed there were only 2 seasons.

I found this site looking to see if there is a season 3. Too bad there wasn’t one ………..and a season 4, 5 and 6……….

This is by far the best drama I’ve seen out there. I was captivated from beginning to end of all 25 episodes. Another fine example of an excellent show being cancelled. Last time I was this disappointed was then FOX cancelled Firefly– a series which suffered the same awkwardness for the first couple episodes in the first season, but then developed into something remarkable. Then, a good movie is only 2 hours long if you are lucky… there’s 25 episodes of Raising the Bar – 19 hours. Thank you TNT for those unforgettable 19 hours.

I’m very disappointed this show was cancelled. It was recommended to me on Netflix after watching the 1st season of defenders. I’m about 5 episodes from finishing it out and thought I’d try to locate season 3 ahead of time…guess I’m out of luck. I’m at least happy to see that there are other people who are also sad to see this show gone. Maybe in another life…

One of the many reasons why you lose rating is because people have to work and are not at home to watch it. Some people have to wait till it comes out on dvd, or Netflix, or the library. Or some who missed a couple of episodes, and wait for it to come out (dvd, ect..) so they dont go out of order. or you watch one episode in the middle, like it, and wait for it to come out, so you can watch it from the begining.

I’ve been watching this series on Netflix, and I’m glued to it on every episode. It’s totally hard to believe it was cancelled after season two. The dynamics were fantastic, and I completely forget where I am while I’m watching. I really can’t understand how a series like this is not watched and loved by millions of people. And I don’t understand why there wouldn’t be a lot of protests when it was announced it was cancelled – unless there were.

This is the best series I have seen in a long time. It had me glued to the TV. It is great acting and there is a great chemistry between the characters. It ranks better than Good Wife. Please get these people back and get it on the local TV channels. People w/o cable, DirectTV or ComCast like myself who now can’t afford that luxury will be craving this kind of intellectual and mind-challenging type of TV drama. I was great. You have already waited too long and the public yearns for really good dramas.

I am very disappointed they cancelled the series. I thought it was great. The reason it ended might’ve had something to do with the time slot, or poor marketing on the show’s behalf, but it didn’t have anything to do with the cast- which was excellent, or the acting- which was good, or even the story line- which to me was very engrossing. I was pretty shocked when it didn’t come back for a third season. Maybe if they tried it on Bravo or AMC? Or even Fox. I think it would do great. I hope they bring it back!

Like others, I found this series on Netflix. I am heatbroken that it ended after only 2 seasons. I would have watched it when it aired, I just never knew about it. I think the show needed more publicity. Either way, I would love to see them bring it back. Since Gosselaar is in a new TNT courtroom show, I doubt there are any plans to resurrect Raising the Bar.

Definitely bring it back. I’m watching the 2 seasons again for about the 3rd time. This series really grabs me. Take a lesson from JAG, which was canceled after the first year on one network (can’t remember now which one) but was then picked up by another and lasted for 9 more seasons. Give this series a chance to blossom. It’s got tremendous potential.

It’s difficult to think that a viewer that didn’t like the series would make it so far as to be writing a comment on this page. Times are changing, and like me, a lot of viewers got a taste of “Raising the Bar” on Netflix. A season in a weekend? It’s hard to see how the profit is being made, and that’s because it was staged to air on TNT. The research that went in to when and how the show would air was possibly flawed. I’m male, 39 yrs old, married 10 years with 3 children, in management, and would rather pay for Netflix than cable TV. The economy has changed. My heart was broken when I watched the last episode and found out it was the last episode. This series IS, not WAS, exceptional. Cast members have an opportunity in these roles to propel themselves into future superstars of the screen. Love them all, and who ever selected the cast was spot on. Re-configure how to market this show so we can see what happens to the judge, Please?

looks like zack has really grown up…all of the characters draw there own interest and the cases keeps the show interesting…to bad its cancelled

I am a criminal defense attorney and have to admit that “Raising the Bar” was the most realistic “legal” drama I have ever seen on television/cable. I, like many others, never saw the promotion for this series and only started watching it on Netflix last week. I watched all 25 episodes in a week and am now looking for another substantive series that measures up.

The very first time that I was introduced to this show was on Comcast. I never watch TNT, but was browsing the on demand and saw Mark and was like –hey a “saved by the bell guy”– I watched it AND LOVED IT IMMEDIATELY. I was left wanting more EVERY WEEK!!! I was very confused when the show disappeared from the queue. I continually looked for the show even after it initially disappeared. As soon as I signed up for Netflix I WAS ECSTATIC to find it on there and even happy to relive all the shows because they were that good. Personally, I hate NCIS, THE CLOSER, LAS VEGAS, LAW & ORDER, COLD CASE and all the others I have attempted to watch. I was thoroughly impressed by the story lines, the cast, ALL OF IT!!! THIS SHOW NEEDS TO BE BROUGHT BACK WITH ALL OF THE SAME PEOPLE!! CHARLIE is sexy, appreciated Jerry & Bobbi’s little romance, respected Roz, and even was on the line with Kessler. I mean seriously this was a great production and I never saw any advertisements for it either. I just think that the network cancelled an amazing show due to lack of effective execution in the advertising field. I mean do we really have a say about what we love and want to watch? Because ratings are important.. but come on develop a panel or something. This will always be one of my VERY FAVORITE SHOWS and hopefully there will be more to come.. and if there isnt ill repetitively watch the ones that are available.

As a Deputy District Attorney I really enjoyed this show. It did a great job of showing some of the real “corruption” in the system – the things that the typical public does not know or understand and which I fight against daily. It was inspiring to see.

I did not approve of some of the intimate scenes in various episodes and really think they could have done without that nonsense.

I love this show. Just watched the two seasons on netflix and it easily ranks up there under NCIS but above Law and Order: SVU which are two of my absolutely favorite shows. I wanted to see Charlie become a judge and Jerry’s relationship with Bobbi grow. I wanted Michelle to get put in her place once and for all because I can’t STAND Michelle, and for McGrath to stand up to Balco, and for Balco to get an STD or something. I was just aching for Roz to realize how perfect Richard is and to see baby James again… I even loved the newest addition, that little spaz who wanted the civil suit. There was so much left to accomplish and who better to lead the cast than Mark Paul Gosselaar….. *sigh* Very distraught that the show is over (and I’m about 2 years too late)

I recently found this on netflix and I think it’s one of the best series ever. Can’t believe it was cancelled. I think it just wasn’t exploited enough – DVDs, hulu, itunes, etc. Not everyone tunes into TNT. I never do. I’m guessing it failed because, perhaps it wasn’t a common denominator show. It probably didn’t appeal to as many people, but appealed to those fewer people a great deal. For example, I would happily pay $2-$3, per episode to watch this on iTunes, which is surely less than a show’s advertising revenue per viewer. Perhaps had it been exploited better, it would have been profitable to renew. It’s unfortunate and certainly not the show’s fault. The acting and story lines were fantastic.

This was one of the best series I’ve ever watched. I’m so disappointed that it ended. I thought the cast, story lines and personal lives were very well balanced, and thought out. Truly more realistic than many other “law and order” type shows. I do not remember seeing it advertised, if I did, I would have become a loyal fan and watched it each week. In the meantime, there are so many other disappointing series that seem to get taken up each season, which leaves an intelligent audience with not much to choose from. I am so glad I found this on Netflix. PLEASE have the good sense to bring it back. I, for one, would tell anyone who would listen to watch it. Thank you.

Maybe the network didn’t advertise enough. It’s been years since the show was cancelled and it still has a following; although it’s limitted to Netflix because it’s not even being aired on other channels as re-runs. In the meantime there are programs that aren’t worth watching that are on the air. Network executes have big salaries, big cars, definitely big egos but tiny little brains. It is obvious that there is an audience for this show, if they were smart they would bring it back and promote it the right way. Network executes resemble politicians, completely out of touch with the general public. Way to go!!!!

I’ve been waiting till this January for the return of this show. When it didn’t come back and we get shows like Rizzoli & Isles (blah, blah, blah), it show that people aren’t really making good decisions. This show was compelling and you were always left wondering who was going to win. You would be rooting for both the prosecution and the defense, and it portrays real life and situations. Bring it back!

I agree with the other commenters on this post. This was a quality show, that dealt with real life issues, in a real way–the prosecution didn’t win all the time, the public defenders didn’t win all the time–it showed that friendship can endure in the most painful and difficult of life’s circumstances.

Besides, anyone but me wonder where the ratings data comes from? I’ve been asked once in my lifetime about what I watch. I’ll bet if they created a channel where we could pay ala cart for our programs, people would pick hands-down, Raising the Bar

Raising The Bar was by one, of the better shows on television, period! The cast was incredible, the cases were amazing, and the balance between personal and professional lives is what made it so damn great! I sincerely hope that TNT would reconsider their decision on RTB.

Ok TNT, home of great programing, you are getting an earful on “Raising The Bar”and deservedly so ! That show was really close to reality. Great cast, great story line and bam! Down the drain it goes. If you could bring it back, it would show you are appealing to your higher intellect viewers. We know good TV when we see it. You have a hit with “Men of a Certain Age” (my current favorite) and I will not list all the rest except to say that RTB would round out your schedule perfectly.

Raising the Bar was a great show. So was Caprica on SciFi. The way the networks screw with scheduling you don’t know if a show is still running or between seasons. . .what is a season anymore? I’m completely frustrated with modern TV; 10 episode seasons with 9 months in between seasons and 5 episode split seasons with ? months in between. Give me 47 minutes of content in a one hour episode and 17 – 24 episodes in a season and I’ll be happy! Quit trying to be tricky and think you’re going to capture market share. Execs should be amazed that you can capture the attention of 3 million people at any one time at all with 800 chanels, 200 networks, an aging population with other interests in life and people under 20 with very short attention spans. Add to that the overwhelming battle for that attention from all the other media available. I would rather watch something on DVR so I can fast forward through commercials because most commercials are just chanting in the backround, repetitive blah blah blah. So few are well done and deserve the attention of an audience. So. . .marketers. . .spend your money on creativity and core message and fewer impressions. Networks, what people want are fewer commercials or not the same 5 commercials every 6 minutes. . .and consistency; I’d rather watch re-runs of an old show wedged firmly in syndication (consistent) than get hooked on something new that gets yanked mid season. There are smaller audiences that also buy products. If you put a show on that 6 million people like to watch every Tuesday night, it also means that there are another 200 million people that want to watch something else at that time, or maybe they are working or sleeping or in school or recorded your show so they could watch it at a more opportune time or. . .or. . .maybe they like something that you put on Wednesdays at 7 or Mondays at 9 . . .or did you cancel that show too?

I am so saddened that the wrong people are in charge of what is watched on TV….these dumb reality shows suck balls and shows like RTB really portrayed real life for some people. TNT should know better…maybe cut down on the NBA games a bit…maybe cut down on the re-runs too…and air shows that REAL people watch. I am a real TNT fan, so please do what you should to keep me and other interested in watching your channel and continue to air shows that really speak to the heart or real life for that matter.

i really liked this show, i’m so sad it stopped
i don’t understand why it had been canvelled
one of the best lawyers tv show with all the actors such as Gosselaar,Reuben and so on
i wait eagely for its return and the third season

I really liked this show! I think that is a really well written and bold show! Please TNT will you bring this back! If not will you have them put it on another network?!!?? It is REALLY GOING TO BE MISSED IN MY HOUSEHOLD!

I am so sad Raising the Bar was canceled. I did not know about this until I started hunting to find out when it would return. Cable tv needs to know how to get the correct viewing numbers before canceling a show. What makes a hit? There was a large audience for this program, do we millions not count? With all the stupid reality shows on network tv, we grownups need cable to give us great programming like Raising the Bar! Shame on you. What are you going to replace it with? More garbage????

I have been wondering what happened to this series as well! I love Gosselear in everything that I have ever seen him in ESPECIALLY Raising the Bar. I love the lawyer TV series and I was so hooked on the this show and it really saddens me that I will not get to see this show in the future! I agree with Manning’s statement above: “PLEASE TNT ON BEHALF ON ALL THE RTB LOVERS PLEASE RETHINK DECISION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.~P.S I’M IN LOVE WITH GOSSELEAR AND WOULD LOVE TO SEE HIM AGAIN!!! Especially, in a lawyer/romance TV series! PLEASE BRING IT BACK SOON!!!!!

The networks are what are killing the good TV shows. Raising the Bar, V, Rubicon, etc., RIP! First of all, changing or rescheduling TV times are what kill good TV shows. I know every time one of the shows I watch each week is rescheduled because of other “compelling TV” events, elections, holidays, whatever… its hard to get back on schedule because the networks will hold “notifying” viewers when the next episode will air….. viewers are left to “guessing” and by the time they realize the show is back on, the rating have dropped. Big surprise! But wait – all is not lost – I can tune into my TV provider’s feature of “On Demand” and catch up. Good for me, but how would the network even know I did…..

Now, I know the Nielsen ratings have been the mainstay on how networks monitor viewership, but I think in this modern day and age, viewers are recording their favorites, so however the Nielsens used to monitor viewership is probably outdated. People are using their DVR and Tivo’s, On Demand, whichever, to catch their favorite shows (for whatever reason – I know mine is to avoid being unindated with ads that I don’t need every 4 minutes (literally), and I travel a good deal for work) – how can the networks possibly know what viewers are watching via their cable and satellite providers??? I suggest they figure out a more accurate method – they may be a little surprised and a reality check (not reality TV – there’s another subject for a whole new discussion thread..) on what the viewers are really watching.

One of the best lawyer shows, all have personalities, the story lines were great!
Bring Raising the bar back, get rid of reality shows.

I loved the show and would have liked to see more of it. I don’t know why viewers stopped watching. I hope they play the remaining episodes from season 2 and if there were any episodes for a season three, I would love to see those. If nothing else it should be made available on the TNT website for viewers who did enjoy the show.
