Raising the Bar: Cancelled TNT Series Returning (Briefly)

Raising the BarTNT’s cancelled legal drama, Raising the Bar, is returning to the cable channel, albeit for one night.

The final three episodes of the drama, featuring Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Gloria Reuben, Currie Graham, Melissa Sagemiller, J. August Richards and the rest of the cast, will be shown in a mini-marathon on Christmas eve.

The installments begin at 8pm and continue until 11pm. The titles are “Maybe, Baby,” “O! Say Can You Pee,” and “Happy Ending.”

What do you think? Will you be tuning in to watch the Raising the Bar characters have their final day in court and say goodbye? Anything you hope to see happen in the final episodes?

Big mistake. Absolutely loved this show and only found out by accident that the final episodes were airing and I set my DVR. Too bad good dramas are cancelled so quickly and as someone else said, Monday night it a tough night. Hopefully we will see this great actors on other shows.

Airing the last 3 episodes on Christmas Eve was better than not airing at all. I would think that most fans could not watch on Christmas Eve. I did set my DVR and have now watched all 3 episodes. I do not understand how a program with great writers and a great cast can be cancelled. I am not mindless, please renew this show for the the people that enjoy a good plot and all cast members doing an excellent job. This is my second favorite show. Mad men is top favorite, just to show that some people like to watch a show that makes someone think. I liked the fact that they always showed the pro and cons.

why is it that when we finally have a series that is excellent and goes above the IQ of reality TV, the shows get cancelled. !!! Very bad move on the producers etc.etc.

I’m really surprised that they have cancelled Raising the Bar. Knowing that the Closer and Raising the Bar were on Monday nights helped me look forward to Monday! I love Raising the Bar–the fact that they cancelled it will help me make the decision to watch something other than TNT. What were they thinking the show was excellent–entertaining, captivating, I couldn’t wait for the next episodes…goodbye TNT you’ve lost me for good!

I agree with everyone here! The Closer and Raising the Bar were definately my favorite shows. It’s too bad the viewers comments and opinions don’t count for much compared to TV executives bottom line dollar decision making. Very poor choice TNT!

so sad. This was one of the best shows on the air for a long time. I hope they’ll reconsider or have another network pick it up. Such a disappointment. It’s saddening that all the smart shows are the first on the chopping block. I hope I see all these actors again. Great ensemble.

We are so disappointed that this program has been cancelled. What a great cast of actors and actresses. This was one of the programs we always looked forward to watching. We are so sad. I hope another network would consider picking this show up.

I hate that the show has been cancelled. I was really looking foward to season 3. Now I find out there is no more. Reality TV is taking over everything. I hope they reconsider and put it back on the air.

This was one of the best shows on TV. I am very disappointed that the show has been cancelled. I hope that they reconsider. The more people that comment maybe it will make a difference.

The major networks have adjusted their business model to cater to the lowest common denominator with cheap to produce reality shows which has led viewers to the cable networks, which in my opinion have a superior product (Raising the Bar, Leverage, Burn Notice, In Plain Sight, Hawthorne, Closer, etc.). I would much rather watch one of these shows than some idiot looking for his/her 15 minutes of fame.

I had hoped that by offering superior programming, the cable networks would spur competition that would cause the major networks to raise their standards. Unfortunately if shows like Raising the Bar and Dark Blue keep getting cancelled, the cable networks will be driving viewers elsewhere, too.

With the holidays & all we didn’t realize the show had been cancelled. We are sooo
disappointed. They always do that, cancel good shows without giving them a shot. At least this one had 2 seasons, it deserved longer.
