Rake: Cancelled Now? FOX Series Sent to Saturdays

Rake TV show canceled?A couple weeks ago, FOX shifted their low-rated Rake series to Friday nights. Now, the show is on the move again.

Rake follows a lawyer (Greg Kinnear) who tries to do good but just can’t seem to get beyond his numerous addictions that cause him so much trouble. The cast also includes John Ortiz, Necar Zadegan, Bojana Novakovic, David Harbour, Tara Summers, Miranda Otto, and Ian Colletti.

The series is being replaced by Kitchen Nightmares as of this Friday night. A rerun of the Gordon Ramsay series will lead into the one-hour series finale of Raising Hope at 9pm. Season six of Nightmares kicks off on April 11th.

Back-to-back episodes of Rake will air on Saturday, April 5th, starting at 8pm. That will leave one episode unaired — the sixth installment produced, titled “Mammophile.” No word on when or if that will see the light of day.

One thing is clear however. Despite the fact that FOX hasn’t cancelled it yet, there’s no way that Rake will be returning for a second season.

What do you think? Have you been watching the Rake TV series? Why do you think it hasn’t caught on?

This show absolutely deserves another chance. It’s been moved around so much no one can find it. It wasn’t advertised properly, I found it by accident. I don’t care what night it’s on as long as it’s on. I love this show! I hope it’s picked up by another network!

Rake has the problem of skipping around with too many story lines within its episodes. If writers would stick to one main plot the show would be smoother and the viewer could know what is going on instead of dialogue being choppy and thoughts being constantly terminated abruptly. The characters are fine and entertaining for the most part. Smooth out the writing and Rake may see a second season!

I love Rake!
Wish it could renew for another season. It’s better than some of shows on Cbs or Nbc.
The people that have invested in this series deserve to see the last show!!

We like Rake – Greg Kinnear is the best! Give the series a chance. Hasn’t been on long enough to get the attention it needs – and he is certainly a “rake” in this series – it’s funny & enjoyable – don’t write it off yet!

Why hasn’t it caught on??? I guess there are too many idiots out there then. It is a GREAT show. It’s my new favorite, replacing Elementary, which I still love also. It is SO good. I am so bummed that it is apparently not making it. I don’t understand it at all. It seems like the best shows get cancelled and the mediocre and crappy shows stay on the air.

Once again something unique bites the dust. This is why I stopped watching “regular” tv shows. You get interested and more often than not they’re cancelled before giving them a fighting chance. I hoped that Fox would be different than the network channels but it looks like they’re following in their footsteps. Those of us who invested our time and interest are cast aside with the show. Too sad….

Please don’t cancel this series! I love Greg Kinnear and I love the series………..If it’s now moved to Sat. that’s fine, there’s nothing much on Sats. anyway. Give it a chance!!
Series would probably ‘fly’ on another network! Whatever Fox needs to chill for a few minutes, run more episodes, or, another season……….

I really like this show, my husband and both watch it. I liked the Friday slot but Saturday is good too. I don’t think people really heard enough about it when it goes aired. Pretty bummed to see it go.
