Revenge: Season Two Ratings

ABC TV show Revenge ratingsIt looked like Revenge might be cancelled due to mediocre ratings last May. ABC gave the TV series a renewal instead, likely in part because the network’s other new dramas didn’t perform as well. Will Revenge’s ratings fall lower this season or will this nighttime soap’s numbers rise instead?

The second season of Revenge typically airs Sunday nights on ABC. The network has ordered 22 episodes. The cast includes Emily VanCamp, Madeleine Stowe, Henry Czerny, Joshua Bowman, Christa B. Allen, Gabriel Mann, Nick Wechsler, Connor Paolo, and Ashley Madekwe.

Here are the TV show’s ratings for the 2012-13 season, the best way to tell if Revenge is going to be cancelled or renewed for season three.

Final season averages: 2.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.02 million total viewers.

UPDATE: ABC has renewed this show for a third season for 2013-14.

Year-to-year, the season debut of Revenge was down slightly from the series premiere, by 3% in the demo (vs a 3.3 rating) and down by 3% in viewership (vs 10.02 million). These were the highest numbers since last year’s premiere. A very positive start.

Reference point: The 2011-12 season averaged a 2.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.82 million viewers.

Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

‘Revenge’ is my favorite show. I do not understand where they get the rating stats? All of my friends love this show. There is so much CRAP on TV today – call me, I’ll tell you what to cancel!!!

One of the best shows in the last decade.
Why do you want to cancell this Show? It`s absolutely great, genuine, intriguing, extraordinarily performed! I really hope, we get to see the Season 3. Love the Series!!!

I really look forward to this show each week, although since Christmas I don’t count on it being scheduled. It is hard to keep an audience with such an inconsistent schedule. I know many specials occur on Sunday nights, but help a fan out with a regular timeslot that I can count on!

RENEW THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST SHOW ON TV!!! WE CAN’T MISS AN EPISODE PLAN EVERY TIME IT’S ON CAN’T WAIT TO SEE IT! IF ABC CANCELS THIS SHOW WE WILL NEVER EVER WATCH ANYTHING THEY OFFER AGAIN!

I must agree with Trish. What made Revenge good last year has been lost this year. I’m to the point I don’t care what happens. So instead I now watch Downton Abbey, tape Revenge and watch if I have time.

I loved Revenge last season. This season I hate the Sunday night timeslot, there are too many new characters and the original plotline seems to have been abandoned. It was a great show that unfortunately went bad.

I LOVE THE SHOW. IT IS THE BEST ONE AIRING. WHOEVER IS WRITING THIS SERIES YOU SHOULD KEEP THEM ON IT IS VERY EXCITING. I AM ADDICTED TO IT AND LOOK FORWARD TO IT EVERY WEEK. SO PLEASE DON’T TAKE IT OFF. EMILY IS A GREAT ACTRESS LOVED HER ON BROTHERS AND SISITERS AND SHE IS JUST FANTASTIC ON THIS.EVERYONE I TALK TO JUST ARE RAVING ABOUT THE SHOW. definitely renew!…the acting is superb, the sets are superb…every one i know is just so into revenge.. mike kelley is SUCH a good writer, and the music by iZLER is superb, i cant imagine why revenge could be in trouble
