¡ROB! and Undercover Boss: CBS Series Premiere in January

Undercover BossYesterday, it was revealed that CBS had cut their episode order of Rules of Engagement to make way for a new comedy starring Rob Schneider — ¡ROB!. Some involved with the production of Rules believe that the show is finished but CBS has not officially cancelled it. They just didn’t need as many new episodes. The Tiffany network has announced that the first of eight installments of ¡ROB! will kick off on January 12th, in Rules’ Thursday night timeslot.

In addition, the Undercover Boss reality series will return on January 15th, taking The Amazing Race’s usual place on the schedule. You may recall that Boss was a big hit in its first season but lost a lot of seam in season two. It’ll be interesting to see how it fares this time around.

Gah, ¡Rob! is going to be horrible as a lead-in to Person of Interest. Person of Interest is a highbrow show while Rob Schneider embodies lowbrow class (crass?). I doubt there’s very little, if any, intersection of their two fanbases at all. Oh well, I’ll still be tuning in at 9pm on Thursday rather than 8pm. I just hope Person of Interest doesn’t tank due to an incompatible lead-in.

I should clarify… PoI is as much a highbrow show as you’re likely to ever see on the five major broadcast stations, is what I meant.

I just don’t like Rob Schneider but I do like Rules of Engagement.

Nothing against Rob, but I will put my money on Rules coming to the rescue again when Rob’s new series tanks.
