Scandal: Season Two Ratings

ABC TV show Scandal ratingsIn its first season, Scandal drew mediocre ratings and was nearly cancelled. ABC likely brought it back because they need new dramas and are hoping that the ratings would improve in season two. Will they be glad that they took the risk? Time will tell.

The second season of Scandal typically airs Thursday nights at 10pm on the ABC network. The cast includes Kerry Washington, Bellamy Young, Columbus Short, Darby Stanchfield, Guillermo Diaz, Jeff Perry, Joshua Malina, Katie Lowes, and Tony Goldwyn.

Below are the TV show’s ratings for the 2012-13 season, the best way to tell if Scandal is going to be cancelled or renewed for a second season.

Final season averages: 2.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.48 million total viewers.

Year-to-year, the season premiere of Scandal was up by 5% in the demo (vs a 2.0 rating) and down by 8% in viewers (vs 7.33 million).

Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. I am so impressed with Kerry Washington. She truly carries the show in a poised and brilliant way. She is highly intelligent and it comes through in her role. I love Scandal, its cast and writing. I hope that it stay on the air for a very long time.

It would be a horrible loss should the network decide to cancel this series. The drama is awesome and is unlike any other show on TV. There are medical shows, lawyer shows and reality shows; but this show combines drama, law and “fixer” roles in one show. Please do not cancel it!!!!!

AWESOME series. Please bring it back for a third, fourth, fifth and more seasons. The chemistry between Kerry Washington and Tony Goldwyn is absolutely the best, most hottest and I love it. I’ve gotten other’s interested as well and they are loving it, too.

PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL SCANDAL. IT IS ONE OF THE BETTER SHOW ON TV. I AM SO SICK OF ALL OF THESE REALITY SHOWS. BLAH!!!

Best drama on TV. I love this show. I haven’t been hooked on a series in years. My daughter attended a Scandal viewing party last week. Yes, we need a season 3, 4, and more. I went to a Christmas party, and most of the ladies at my table had not heard of the show. Come on ABC, advertise the show!

Please renew Scandal!! It’s a very exciting, intriguing and thrilling show with great acting!! My husband and I look forward to our Thursday TV Scandal night!!
So I’m asking for you to not cancel it! So many shows have been canceled for the ridiculous “reality” shows that don’ t have good actors & actresses. It’s not worth watching those as far as we are concerned!!!

I had been hearing so much about the this show and hadn’t watched it. This weekend I watched season 1 on netflix and all of the episodes that havve aired thus far of season 2, and I am hooked! This is a really good show and I hope that this shows continues for many more seasons.

Great show. Please give us a 3rd seaaon. Show is as good as Homeland. Get Fitz better and back in the Whitehouse. Show could go on for a long time.

To quote one of my sisters, this show is the BOMB! I can’t wait for the next espisode each week. The writing is terrific and the actors pull it off well. This could go on for another 5/6 seasons easily.
