Scrubs: ABC TV Show Cancelled, No Season 10

ScrubsAfter seasons of poor ratings and several cast members moving on, ABC has finally put the Scrubs TV show to rest.

Scrubs follows hospital life as seen through the eyes of Dr. J.D. Dorian (Zach Braff). He left Sacred Heart last season but returns occasionally to help teach a new crop of med students. Others in the cast include Donald Faison, John C. McGinley, Ken Jenkins, Sarah Chalke, Eliza Coupe, Kerry Bishe, Michael Mosley, and Dave Franco.

Last May, despite poor ratings, ABC decided to try to squeeze one more year out of the veteran sitcom. The reason? ABC also produces Scrubs and stood to make big money on additional episodes in syndication.

The network kicked off season nine late last year and registered a low 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and only 4.5 million viewers. The numbers dropped even further and ABC decided to burn off most of the remaining episodes in January.

In March, ABC aired the final episode of the season. The network’s website promoted it as the “series finale.” We contacted a representative for ABC who told us that it was a mistake but nobody was in any rush to change it.

Now, it appears that ABC has finally cancelled Scrubs after nine seasons on the air. With more than 180 episodes, the sitcom won’t be coming back.

What do you think? Should Scrubs have returned after last season’s Braff send off? Did you like the “med school” setting and characters?

No, I don’t think there should be another season. Scrubs revolved around J.D. But a spin off would be absolutely awesome! Featuring the interns! Drew, Cole, Lucy and the rest. Absolutely! Bring Scrubs back. Maybe you could call it Scrubs: New Medicine?

MAKE ANOTHER SEASON!!!
Med-School was weird in the beginning, but it was so funny after a few episodes.
I think they needed that change, they needed some new characters. And they should make 9 more seasons with the new ones !

This was by far the best show i have i ever watched, i saw all of the seasons on their original airing! This show taught many people how to deal with problems in their life, it at least deserves a last season with a good ending!

They need to get rid of the “Med School” additions. The characters aren’t appealing to learn about and the original characters such as Jordan, Carla, and the Janitor are more important to me. We need to be envolved when Elliot has her baby! I liked the interns from season 8, and I feel that the fans of this show need to see them return. Denise is a crutial part of the newer castmates, however, I think that they could continue the show even if they only featured the original characters once in a while. They left us with a lot of cliff hangers and even though the whole primis of the show is outrageous comedic stunts, it would have put me at ease knowing that Carla was happy being a stay at home mom or maybe she found another job opportunity to maybe become a doctor herself, or that Kelso found a woman his age that he falls in love with! (See? I could be a writer for the show too!)

Make another season! There won’t be another show like this, it was my favourite show of all time. I thought the Med School idea would be a flop, but i actually really enjoyed it, it wasn’t the same as the original cast but then again that wasn’t bad either, i had just started to get a feel for the new characters and now its ended……its sad…

Make another season, at first I wasn’t sure about the new interns and the med school setting but you have already gotten people wrapped up in the new characters that there is no way you should just drop it now….

i think they should of went for a 10th season as i think the way it ended was a let down and alot of things are still unanswered like what happens with JD’s second baby and what happens with his first or what happens with Kim and does JD and Elliot get married
