Six Degrees: ABC Pulls Drama for Second Time

Cancelled Six Degrees on ABCAfter miraculously returning to the airwaves after almost five months, it looks like ABC has now closed the book on Six Degrees.

Six Degrees debuted last Fall and was pulled after just six episodes due to low ratings. The network believed in the show and, after some retooling, production resumed on the 13 episode order. ABC returned Six Degrees to primetime on Friday, March 23rd.

There have been rumors that, if the series performed well, it was being seriously considered for a second season. Unfortunately, Six Degrees attracted a dismal 4.6 million viewers on March 23rd and then dropped to 3.2 million on March 30th.

As a result, Six Degrees has been pulled from the schedule effective immediately. Reruns of Wife Swap will air in that timeslot for the foreseeable future. Though it hasn’t been officially cancelled, there is little chance we’ll see the five unaired episodes or a second season. Stay tuned! TV Series Finale home page

I cannot remotely believe ABC would yank this show a second time without airing the remaining episodes.I was pleased to find out one of the creators of Six Degrees was an old friend from NY-he did amazing job with the show-I hope he moves on to bigger things with a more supportive network…Good luck Stu!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to agree with what everyone is saying. I loved this show and ABC did not seem to give it any support, they didn’t even show any commercials about it coming back until a week or so before. I am very, very upset that one of my favorite shows again have been taken off the air, the least they could do is air the rest of the episodes.

SIX DEGREES was a great show!
It was smart and wasn’t about
a bunch of mindless, idiots and morons which inhibit reality shows like WIFE SWAP!
How can ABC even pull a show after a couple episodes ?????
Its retarded! I am going to
boycott ABC – their practices
suck !!! (I too liked INVASION) and (COMMANDER in CHIEF before they messed with it and it loss its focus) Yeah put on some more
hillbilly shows and we can get back to reading books and avoid the “boob” tube !!!

I REALLY CAN NOT BELIEVE THE SHOW WAS PULLED WITHOUT A FAIR TRY..
1. THE SHOW WAS NOT GIVEN THE PROPER PROMOTION. WE HAVE WAITED SO LONG FOR THIS SEASON TO START AND NOW YOU GO PULL IT AGAIN.
2. FRIDAYS NIGHTS WAS PROBABLY THE WORST DAY TO PUT IT BACK ON THE AIR. EVERYONE GOES OUT FRIDAY NIGHTS…. NOT FAIR TO THE SHOW AND THE CAST.
PLEASE GIVE IT ANOTHER TRY.

PLEASE ADVICE ME IF IT WILL COME OUT WITH A DVD. WE WOULD GLADLY BUY TWO.

THANK YOU

What does it take to be a network executive ? Extreme ignorance ?
Let’s see, let’s bring back 5 degrees after a 5 month hiatus.
Let’s put it on a Friday…yes that’s a good idea. Let’s give it two weeks to build a following (a new following…since we ticked off the original viewers), etc.

I really wish ABC would at least make the show Six Degrees available online for us to finish the remaining episodes. I will not watch Wife Swap at all.

ABC is by far the worst network. How could Six Degrees succeed when they never gave it a chance and took it off the air for 5 months. UNREAL….I’ll never get hooked on another ABC show again…they did it to me last year with Invasion and Commander in Chief, and now they’ve done again twice this year with Six Degrees and Day Break….ABC/DISNEY SUCKS!

I am so disappointed. After pulling the show in November, in all fairness ABC should have given it more time. The least they could do is air the remaining episodes. Who needs to watch repeats of Wife Swap? The acting was great. I believe this show failed because ABC did not promote it.

…okay, not about Bridget Moynahan’s personal life… Any news of online posting or DVD? Thanks!

Bad news for Bridget Moynihan, once again! First she loses Tom Brady to Gisele Bundchen and now her TV show gets canceled. Well, at least she has his baby to rock to sleep at night. I guess that’s karma for trying to trap a man into marrying you!
