I LOVE SPARTACUS: BLOOD AND SAND!!!!!!!!! This is the best show of 2010. It reminds me of 300 and Gladiator. They are to great movies but Spartacus: Blood and Sand beats them both. I really really can’t wait for season 2. I hope they do it and start off back from the end of season 1. I’m so glad I saw a preview for the first season because I truly love this show. I hope it goes for many seasons. Andy Whitfield done a great job of playing the character (Spartacus). Hopefully they bring back all the same cast of season 1. Please Please make more seasons !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bet there’s alot of fans 0f (Spartacus: Blood and Sand)…..

I havent really gotten into a tv show in a few years. I watched the Sopranos and thought it was good, and I really got hooked on Tru Blood, but this show is the best show I have ever seen. I know that is extremely high praise, and I kept saying to myself, “I think this is the best show I have ever seen.” I didnt know if I was being irrational or what, but every single week the show got better and better, to the point where I really could not believe what I was watching. The first couple episodes were average, but after the third and fourth episodes I couldnt freaking believe how good the show was. There was never a set up episode that bored you, every single episode was freaking great. I wish it was still on during the summer to get me to football season. I love Ohio State football more than anything in the world, and this show came very close to reaching that level.

I heard a lot of good feedback on these series from my friends. I tend to not watch any shows that revolve around historic events, especially the Spartakus theme as it has been depicted many times already and it is with a pre-determined ending.

However, I must say I have never been so captivated by any other show on TV. I have Starz and pretty much watched the entire season 1 in one week. The show is amazing. It was produced in great detail and even although it does not have the motion picture of Avatar, it is extremely realistic for TV series. I cannot wait for the second season. I hope it is as high quality as the first one.

This is by far one of the best original series to hit the airwaves since OZ, The Sopranos, The L-Word, and so forth! This show caught my attention fromt he first episode. I do not have Starz but watched it on the XBox. If I didn’t have Xbox I would have for sure gotten Starz just for this show. The glory, the grit, the gore, and the revenge all rolled up in one series!! Worth watching for sure! This is a great seriese for Starz and they made the right decision to renew it before it even released!

I have never loved a show as much as i have loved Spartacus. I watch Trueblood on HBO and I love it but it doesn’t even begin to compare to my love for Spartacus. I LOVE this show and would die if it didn’t come back, seriously. There have been promises of season 2, but its being delayed on account of Andy Whitfield (Spartacus) being diagnosed with Lymphoma so I hope he recovers because I don’t want to see anyone else in his place. the show is great i watch it by accident on netflx just when they release the first episode!
and it was a cool show similar to 300 movie and gladiator , but after the past of the weeks it got its own thing , story , characters were start to feel original and unique .

not only is this show historically accurate it is extremely riveting and epic. You know how sometimes the only way to describe a movie is epic well the same goes for spartacus. way better than 300 tho i did love that movie and it also was very epic there isn’t a show that i’ve seen in a long time that compares to spartacus. i was hooked from the first episode and everyone that i have recommended watch this series feels the same as i do. starz really did it this time now lets hope they don’t screw the pooch on this one and keep it as epic through the next season

I can’t believe how this show has grabbed my attention the way it has. I don’t have Starz but I will be sure to add it to my subscription just for this show alone. This show is unlike anything I have ever seen on TV. I am sad to say that I didn’t watch it from the very beginning but I took two days to watch all the episodes and catch up to the season finale. It’s captivating and very addictive. The characters are so complex and each have many layers. It’s interesting the way the writers twist the story to things that are not expected. WONDERFUL SHOW!!!! I hope it is around for a very long time. They sure have caught lightning in a bottle with this one!!

First of all, I have never written anything about any show that I ever loved or hated, but I felt that I needed to, no check that, WANTED, to write in support of Spartacus Blood and Sand. This is the most well conceived and well written series that I have ever seen, & I can imagine that the portrayal of life at the time is spot on. I hope this series is around for many years, and personally, I think STARZ, has hit one out of the park with this series, after all, this series alone caused me to add STARZ to my channel list. It is an amazing show and a wonderful thrill ride, one that I hope continues for a long time to come.

Incredible show! I’ve always loved the history around the Third Servile War, even as a kid. Loved the old Kirk Douglas movie, but this of course, is leaps and bounds better with the cast and more cutting edge special effects we have available today.

At any rate, this series must keep going. I’d love to see it encompass the story in its entirety. All the way from the Capuan Revolt to the last brutal charge near Rhegium.

Hopefully the common viewer can appreciate the hard work it takes to put together something of this magnitude. The best part of this series is that it’s actually more historically accurate than Kubrick and Douglas’ first depiction of Spartacus. Not to put my man Stan down, but the comparison was needed to show the research involved. The slow start definately creates anxiety with thoughts of when the slave rebellion will start. However, the entertainment of gladiators and the constant conniving seems to captivate my attention AND EVERYONE ELSES. My only hope is that dumbass critics don’t effect the outcome of this show.

I think the show is great. I got the Starz premium package with Time Warner a few months ago, and didn’t know what to expect. This show certainly makes it worth while. If the writers and producers take the show through a successful season two, I hope to see a season three that follows the real history of Spartacus’ and Crixus’ life after the revolt, through the Third Servile War.

I love this show. It is truly amazing. We record it and watch it on Sundays because of my husbands work schedule. I have to admit it’s a little hard to wait for him sometimes. All the actors are wonderful. It’s great to see Lucy Lawless on a show again and John Hannah is always stealing the show. He’s so crazy and unpredictable, so you know each episode will be better than the last. Adam is beautiful and very intense. There are sexual situations from time to time, so if you are a little bit prude, you may blush. Just turn your head during those parts. It’s worth tuning in!!!!!!!!!!!!

friggin killer. i love anything with ancient eras ad mystical or mythical stories. they better keep making these. Another favorite show of mine was “DEADWOOD” on HBO. after 3 seasons they just stopped making more. loss of money, not the show. they had more viewers than ever, just stopped production though. that pissed me off. i am still hoping someday they will make more. its a adrenaline feast. also TRUE BLOOD is like this for me, i love it. the fight and blood scenes are mindblowing and the raciness of the sex and nudity really make it over the top .

I didn’t start watching weekly until 2 weeks ago because I hadn’t been watching starz so I hadn’t seen it advertised. When I was flipping through on demand I gave it a try and couldn’t stop watching, I watched all 7 that were out at that time in a row and then the 8th that friday. I’ve since watched them all again and caught the last 2 at show time. This is a fantastic series and it will be such a shame if anything bad comes from the cancer the main actor has come down with. Get well soon Spartacus, the brotherhood needs you!

This show is absolutely amazing, I know a lot of Rome fans criticize this show for being inaccurate, but this show is meant for entertainment purpose only, not a history lesson. If you just happened to finish the weekdays and about to start the weekend this is the show to watch, amazing fight scenes and drama, the drama is so bizarre that you cant predict it, and you end up loving it!

If I were to rate this It would be rated 9.7/10 -3 because Ilithyia is ruining the show!

I have been watching this show since the beginning. I waited a year for it to premiere after seeing the amazing trailer. I have to say that I am blown away by the series as a whole. It is everything I could have hoped for and more. The acting is superb, the story is enthralling, the characters are very deep, and the overall look and feel of the show is revolutionary. I get really excited for Friday’s now just because of Spartacus!! HBO’s Rome lacked something that this show seems to have, and despite the fact that everything (with only a few exceptions) happens either at the Ludus or the Arena it works very well.

This show’s only real problem is there is sooo much going on and thought put into the writing – the usual drones who are enjoy watching 60min of entertainment can not keep up with everything that is going on with all of the different characters. (Honestly whoever has a brain knew Batiatus had Sura killed before she even showed up at the ludus. Yet I read comment after comment about people who couldn’t wait for Sura and Spartacus to be reunited.) I had given up on ever even desiring to watch regular “series television” again, until I watched this show. Just because it doesn’t conform to the “food for the masses” type of predictable programming, some critics are ready to toss it aside. I’m finally hooked on a show again. Yes – please keep it.

This series fits a niche audience , one I’m absolutely a part of. I love this show. Just watched “*****”, and what an excellent conniving ***** Domina is.

The notion that it’s just blood and gore is for the narrow minded, as if you actually pay attention to the storyline, the political twists and turns, the extremism, and the sponteneity and unpredictable nature that takes seemingly mainline characters, builds them up, and then tears them down when you least expect it is refreshing and bold. I think the unpredictability rivals the Sopranos, and it’s something that is driving me to eagerly watch week after week.

Bravo Starz for making a kick-ass, twisted, and exciting series – renewed faith in the enterprise’s ability to produce more than just a basal series, but one of wit and intrigue.

I love this show! If anyone says different about this show you’re an unappreciative fool! Especially the people who say “the CGI is bad”, IT IS CGI!!!!!!!! I love the style of it, and the fact that I can watch it without being personally “too grossed out”, and yet it’s not anything that a parent would let there young child watch, if you do then you need to do some reading on child psychology, Initially, I too thought that the show was a horrible rip on “300″ & Gladiator as others have said, and I did not even finish the first show, then I held on to hope and as soon as I started watching the second show I was hooked! The show is a great historical depiction and should be cherished as such, besides gents, there is nothing “CGI” about all those beautiful breasts! I wish all the cast continued success, also all the best to Andy Whitfield (Spartacus) who was just diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins lyphoma, may that perfect body of yours return to homeostasis swiftly.

The rich and the mighty play games with lives, other peoples lives, screw whom and what they want, and the public especially the middle class are herded like cattle through their day to day lives with work and the media. I must admit I’m enjoying this series immensely. In a great time slot too: of course I could DVR it, but I now can’t wait to see it each week. It’s certainly not perfect but is already good and gets better in leaps and bounds. Last night’s episode culminates with Crixsus and Sparty teamed up to face the legendary Thermocoles, The Shadow of Death. The whole hour was great, and the Primus match was an all-out hoot! WOW, now THAT was a whole lotta fun!
This show has already shown so many redeeming qualities that I don’t let the poor CGI or silly projectile blood globules distract from the fact that it is a terrifically engaging and entertaining series. It works on numerous levels, so the graphic carnage and sex only add to the fun and mayhem. Sparty now reigns as my latest guilty pleasure avaialble on my Idiot Box.
Starz was smart to start it and has already committed to a second season. Great move there. As word of mouth spreads on the internet, Sparty could well be a bigtime cable hit. AMC has already produced 2 excellent series (Mad Men and Breaking Bad) and have the benefits to show. I hope Sparty does the same for Starz.
I’m really starting to love the show and especially a few of the characters. Wait until you see the superb performance of the actor who plays the fabulous Doctore. In describing his own prior match with Thermocoles to his 2 (likely doomed) gladiators, we see might be the single finest performance in the series to date. This riveting performance breathes life and depth into this fine character, making Doctore now fully complete. Always a pleasure to watch an actor practice his craft at such a high level, it reminds one of what is possible. If seldom seen… Various plot threads came together very effectively last night, and the many fine characters are being developed brilliantly. I think the series has depth way beyond what one might first expect.
Long live the House of Batiatus!
