Did I speak too soon? I don’t think so but, NBC has just announced that they will be pulling Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip one week earlier than previously planned. The Black Donnellys will begin on February 26th at 10pm instead of March 5th.
The schedule change comes as the result of Monday night’s poor showing in the ratings. The “Friday Night Slaughter” episode of Studio 60 attracted its lowest audience to date. Insiders say that the peacock network hasn’t made a final decision on Studio 60′s future and that the schedule change was made to give The Black Donnellys a strong launch in sweeps (which is getting a lot of promotion and will likely garner big numbers). No return date for Studio 60 has been set.
Personally, I still think that Studio 60 will still return to primetime. They have a lot of time and money vested into it. However, if NBC finds other programming that attracts significantly more viewers, there’s only so long they can stick with the Aaron Sorkin series. They might air the rest of this season but a second year would be highly unlikely. Stay tuned!

wow!!! what a mistake Nbc made- ANd is the Black whatever even still playing???? Stupid.
This is a fantastic show, they won’t find anything better to air. Bring it back for a second season!
Please don’t cancel this show! It is my favorite.
This is one of the few thinking persons SitCom’s to come out of the US. It is amazing. It is worthy of the chance other shows in its position were given in the past and proved to be smash hits enjoying long running success.
studio 60 is one of the best shows ever.i like it very much.please, give it another chance!!!!!!!!
Hope NBC will take time and think before ending studio 60. Putting extra time into making it better is worth the network time. The show has what it take to capture viewers and is worth the time to keep them, and capture more.
NBC don’t lose another for junk.
I really was so sad to see another excellant show taken away. When will we get another chance at such a well written witty show!
I got together with a large group of friends last nite and cried as we watched the finale of Studio 60.
Hopefully someone will take the time to look at this show again and reconsider this show for next year instead of putting more mindless crap like the black donnellys on the air!
Wasnt “Friday night slaughter” the first show they started airing on Thursday nights? I had no idea the day had even moved, and i am an avid watcher! There was hardly any publicity about it changing days so of COURSE it was its lowest numbers. I love this show i’m so sad that they arent picking it up.
please bring back studio 60! im hooked on it and cant wait to see more! for once there was an interesting intelligent drama that was also hilarious- just because some people are too stupid to understand it its being cut-and some boring brain killing reality show will probably be put in its place satisfying the dumber of the population!
im from ireland and it was a grat hit over here-maybe americans arent as smart as they think they are if they dont realise what a shame it is to cancell something so great!
What the f-word? This is a bunch of s-word! Why the h-word would you cancel such a great f-word-ing show. F-word you you sons-of-b-words. This was quality t.v. and now the f-word-ing idiots who plan their f-word-ing lives around f-word-ing reality shows will have another piece of s-word to watch. Again, I say f-word this. Bring it back. Chant with me. Bring it back. Bring it back. Bring it back. Keep chanting b-word (plural)!
PLEASE! DON’T pull Studio 60!!!! It is intelligent, witty and well written!!! Not everyone that watches television has a low IQ! Why does your network continue to pull good shows while replacing them with crap!!!
