Eli Stone information

Eli StoneLast November, ABC opted not to order any additional episodes of Eli Stone’s second season, effectively cancelling the drama. The series’ co-creator, Marc Guggenheim, held out hope that the network might still order a third round.

The chances of that happening were very remote and they were finally put to rest in May when ABC announced its new schedule and Eli Stone wasn’t on it. In April, the network announced plans to air the final four installments. They start running tonight.

Guggenheim recently told SCI FI Wire, “I have to say these four are among my favorite of the whole series run, quite frankly. I just feel like, ironically, we ended up getting cancelled right around the time we were really hitting on all cylinders.”

So, will the fans finally get some closure?

2008 – 2009 Cancelled Shows: ABC Renews 12 TV Series, What About the Rest?

April 24, 2009
According to Jim, Cupid, Samantha Who?The ABC network has announced renewals for a dozen of their current series. It looks like America's Funniest Home Videos, The Bachelor, Brothers & Sisters, Dancing With The Stars, Desperate Housewives, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Grey's Anatomy, Lost, Private Practice, Supernanny, Ugly Betty, and Wife Swap will all be back next season. None come as a big surprise since ABC is still doing pretty well enough in the ratings. The weakest among the renewed series are Wife Swap and Supernanny but they're relegated to Friday nights. Expectations are lower on that night and the shows are cheaper. What about the rest of their shows -- According To Jim, Better Off Ted, Boston Legal, Castle, Cupid, Dirty Sexy Money, Eli Stone, Homeland Security USA, In The Motherhood, Life On Mars, Opportunity Knocks, Pushing Daisies, Samantha Who?, Scrubs, Surviving Suburbia, True Beauty and The Unusuals? Opportunity Knocks and Pushing Daisies: ABC TV Shows to Return

April 5, 2009
Two series are coming back to ABC -- one beloved and one essentially ignored. Regardless of how viewers feel about them, neither one are going back into production. The network is just burning off already shot episodes of Pushing Daisies and Opportunity Knocks. What about Eli Stone and Dirty Sexy Money? Pushing Daisies follows a lovable piemaker (Lee Pace) who can revive the deceased, his childhood sweetheart (Anna Friel), and his private eye partner (Chi McBride). Others in the cast include Ellen Greene, Swoosie Kurtz, Kristin Chenoweth, Field Cate, Sean Lake, Sy Richardson, Stephen Root, and Sammi Hanratty, with narration by Jim Dale. The series ran for two abbreviated seasons. Based on low ratings, ABC opted not to order any additional episodes past the 22nd. Only 19 of them have aired. Opportunity Knocks is a reality game show that brings the competition to a family's front door. The series is hosted by J.D. Roth and produced by Ashton Kutcher, Jason Goldberg, Karey Burke, Todd A. Nelson, and Roth. The series wasn't a hit with viewers and ABC cancelled it after just three installments had aired.
