A spin-off of Norman Lear's revolutionary All in the Family, this sitcom revolves around Edith Bunker's outspoken and very liberal cousin, Maude Findlay (Beatrice Arthur). Maude had been married three times by the time she married Walter (Bill Macy), the owner of Findlay's Friendly Appliances. Maude's divorced and feminist daughter, Carol (Adrienne Barbeau), and Carol's young son Philip (Brian Morrison, later Kraig Metzinger) also live with Findlays.
