Orange Is the new Black TV show on Netflix: season 4 renewalNetflix has given Orange Is the New Black an early fourth season renewal. The third season (preview below) is set to debut on Friday, June 12th.

Here’s their announcement (in the third paragraph):

#SorryNotSorry- Your favorite inmates from Litchfield Correctional Institution are back for an all new season exclusively on Netflix beginning Friday, June 12th.

Piper, Red, Crazy Eyes, Taystee, Poussey, Sophia, Nicky, Daya, Gloria, Big Boo, Pennsatucky and all of Litchfield’s ladies are back for more drama and laughter…as Alex makes her return and a new inmate, Stella (Ruby Rose) joins the gang.

And there will be more! Netflix today announced that there will be a season four of the series, coming exclusively to Netflix in 2016.

Orange is the New Black has garnered more than 20 awards including three Emmy Awards, two SAG Awards, two AFI honors, three Critic’s Choice Television Awards, one NAACP Image Award, one PGA Award, two GLAAD Media Awards, and is a recipient of a Peabody Award and a Television Critics’ Association (TCA) Award.

Orange Is the New Black

A dramedy, this series follows the the life of Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling), a New York City resident whose wild past comes back to haunt her. This results in her arrest and detention in a federal penitentiary Piper's sentenced to 15 months at the women's federal prison in Litchfield, New York after being caught transporting a suitcase full of drug money for Alex Vause (Laura Prepon). Alex is an international drug smuggler and a past girlfriend. Incarcerated in the same facility as Piper, Alex grew up poor with girls in school bullying her and eventually wound up in the drug business. Piper starts a line of artisanal soaps prior to leaving for prison. Once inside, she tries to understand her place in the prison hierarchy, as well as handle the stresses of her new life and of trying to maintain a relationship with her fiance, Larry Bloom (Jason Biggs). He's a struggling journalist who believes their relationship can withstand Piper's incarceration. Sam Healy (Michael J. Harney) helps to run the prison and manages Piper's case, among others. He is in a relationship with an immigrant who has two years left to wait until she gets her green card.
