More about Stars Earn Stripes: canceled or renewed?

NBC TV show Stars Earn Stripes

Stars Earn Stripes

This reality competition TV series is hosted by General Wesley Clark (retired) and Samantha Harris and pays homage to the men and women who serve in the US Armed Forces and first-responder services. In this fast-paced game, eight celebrities gather at a remote training facility where they are challenged to execute complicated missions inspired by real military exercises. From helicopter drops into water to long-range weapons fire, the contestants are tested physically, mentally and emotionally. Each will be paired with a special operative from a military branch or first-responder force, including former US Army Delta Force and Green Berets, US Navy SEALS, US Marines, and police officers. They'll train alongside their partners and compete in the competition missions with them. Each of the teams is competing for a cash prize on behalf of a military, veterans or first-responder charity. Committed to hiring recent veterans on the crew, the producers of Stars Earn Stripes say they hope to inspire other employers throughout the country to make similar commitments to returning US heroes -- and to show audiences just how incredible their missions really are. The celebrity competitors in season one include four-time undefeated world boxing champion Laila Ali, actor Dean Cain, actor and former National Football League player Terry Crews, multi-platinum recording artist, actor, producer and television personality Nick Lachey, Alaska businessman and four-time Iron Dog snowmobile race champion Todd Palin, The Biggest Loser trainer Dolvett Quince, Olympic gold medalist Picabo Street, and WWE diva, Eve Torres. The operatives include Andrew McLaren, Brent Gleeson, Chris Kyle, Dale Comstock, Grady Powell, J.W. Cortes, Talon Smith, and Tom Stroup.
