Cancelled Casting for December 11, 2011

Canceled casting -- Bobby Cannavale and George LopezMissing the stars of some of your favorite cancelled TV shows? Well thankfully, many of them are still working on the small screen. Here’s where you can find them.

George Lopez (Lopez Tonight) is working behind the scenes for a change and is developing a comedy project that’s based on the life of comedian Mark Viera. In the FOX sitcom, Viera will be playing a blue-collar guy who buys a building in the Bronx and tries to teach his son some street-smarts.

Bobby Cannavale (Cupid) is guest starring on ABC’s Modern Family as the former clown partner of Cam’s alter ego, Fizbo. The episode will air in early 2012. Cannavale just finished wrapping a 10-episode arc on the upcoming fourth season of Showtime’s Nurse Jackie.

And speaking of Cupid, The Hallmark Channel has announced the premiere of a new TV movie of the same name. Joely Fisher (‘Til Death) stars as a workaholic TV talk show host who’s worried that she’ll never find true love. A mysterious stranger (Ghost Whisperer’s Jamie Kennedy) shows up and things start to happen. The movie, slated to air February 11th, also stars Roark Critchlow (V) and Rebecca McFarland (Working).

FOX Pulls ‘Til Death, Brothers, and Dollhouse; Are They Cancelled?

October 26, 2009
The FOX network has been having one of their most successful fall seasons in its history. The problem spot on their current schedule is Friday nights, which offers sitcoms Brothers and 'Til Death and Joss Whedon's Dollhouse. Not surprisingly, the programmers have decided to pull the low-rated series from the schedule for November sweeps. They're being replaced by repeats of House and Bones which, sad to say, will no doubt perform much better. While one of the pulled series isn't really leaving and the other is already slated to return in December, this certainly doesn't help their chances for the future. In truth though, the shows' ratings have been killing them long before FOX made this schedule change. Dollhouse, which stars Eliza Dushku, Harry Lennix, Fran Kranz, Tahmoh Penikett, Enver Gjokaj, Dichen Lachman, and Olivia Williams, is the most high-profile among the three. Though the show's ratings didn't really justify it, FOX renewed the series for a second season last spring. The network seems to want to stay in business with Whedon and is doing what they can, within reason, to keep him happy. Based on the ratings, Dollhouse would have been dumped long ago if it was most any other series. Thankfully for the fans, FOX has committed to airing all of its episodes. That doesn't mean however that they'll be ordering any more or renewing it for a third season.

2008 – 2009 Cancelled TV Shows: 10 FOX Series That Won’t Be Back for 2009 – 2010

May 21, 2009
FOX announced its new schedule for the 2009 - 2010 season earlier this week and, other than the renewal of Dollhouse, there weren't many surprises. Shows that will be back next season include 24, American Dad, American Idol, America's Most Wanted, Bones, Cops, Dollhouse, Family Guy, Fringe, Glee, House, Kitchen Nightmares, Lie To Me, The Simpsons, So You Think You Can Dance, and 'Til Death. So You Think You Can Dance is also airing over the Summer. It'll be joined by Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?, Don't Forget The Lyrics!, Hell's Kitchen, and The Moment of Truth. Joining them will be Mental and More to Love. Shows not returning next season include Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?, Do Not Disturb, Don't Forget The Lyrics!, Hole In The Wall, MADtv, Osbournes: Reloaded, Prison Break, Secret Millionaire, Sit Down Shut Up, and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. King Of The Hill has been cancelled but, because FOX still has some leftover episodes, the network has indicated there are plans to air a few next season.
