I’ve been waiting for Season 2 to come out on DVD since I cancelled my HBO subscription. I cannot believe they are not having a second season!!! I concur with what CLM1 wrote – there must be another reason for the cancellation. I cannot believe the writer couldn’t figure out what she wanted as a second season. This show was truly great at illustrating the everyday problems couples face. I was one of those couples (I won’t say which one), and I was so looking forward to seeing how this couple was going to deal with their problem. What a true disappointment because it really could’ve been one of the greatest shows out there! What a true disappointment!

This is absolutely disheartening. My wife and I have waited…..and waited for the return of this fresh, bold and REAL illustration of intimacy problems in various stages of couples’ relationships. The show offered “water cooler” chat for dating/attached/engaged/married couples – hopefully, to detour any potential problems that arise.

I HONESTLY can’t believe the “inability to decide on the ultimate direction of the next season” as the TRUE reason for the Tell Me’s demise. Any writer/creator has already alternate story lines before the original storyline is published/written/adapted for screen. The three storylines had so much run for expanding – it was Mort’s lack of interest, lack of financial compensation, or some other self-created problems that has ACTUALLY prevented the second season from fruition.

To bad for all of the Tell Me fans…..great show….best since Sopranos.

I enjoyed this show… I hoped it would come back, but gave up after a while. It was very real and I enjoyed witnessing the emotions and psychology behind the couples’ lives.

OHH COME ON!!! i was waiting and waiting!!! now this crap! that show was so good. it was more of a reality show then anything else out there. it was real people and real problems. there arent any other shows like it…they should hurry up and firgure out which way they want the show to go!. like seriously…and why even put the first season on dvd? there aint gunna be no collection!!!

I really liked the show. It was a honest portrayal of how tough relationships are and how much they are worth fighting for. It is really an adult show in a tv climate where everything is made for a teen demographic that was refreshing. When do you ever see an elderly couple in love and actually having sex. Anyway boo HBO for canceling such a great show

I am so sick of HBO, this is just like Big Love and Entourage everyone waited 2 years for season 3 and they only showed what? 6-7 episodes? So now what?, wait another 2 years? How do you expect people to get into a series or have a successful series when you yourself as a company can not come up with a reasonable amount of time in between seasons to keep the viewers interested. I am so upset they cancelled this show and didn’t even have the nerve to post it on their website or announce it. I’m about to cancel my HBO on demand and get Showtime this has gotten ridiculous.

I guess i am really slow at finding out when shows arn’t coming back. You never hear anything. You have to go searching on the internet to find the gossip. Why would you write a show with only 1 season in mind? I find it pathetic that the writer couldn’t decide which direction the show should go in. There is no other show on TV that gave such an honest look at life. I am very dissappointed. Yet again another show i enjoyed and now it has been cancelled. People are going to stop watching new shows all together when it seems they are always getting cancelled.

I am so so so so upset. I got hooked on this when it first came on. My partner and I called out of work so that we could watch all of the episodes. We have been waiting and waiting for the second season. Everynight, I check the on-demand listings, EVERYNIGHT!!!!!! Ugh! I mean, two years now. Are you kidding?!?!?!?!?!?! What a ****** thing to do! After the last episode – I was really looking forward to the second season and so was she. We were hooked and saw ourselves in each of the female characters. What a waste to be left hanging

HBO is blowing it! How can you even consider running a series without thinking about the 2nd season? That says alot about the writer and HBO. Fortunately, we have SHOWTIME and they are leaving HBO in the dust. I Sincerely hope the Producers at HBO are banging on Cynthia Mort’s door right now and telling her to either find some creative expression for Season 2 or find a new job. Hell, I was so entranced by this series that I KNOW I could write the 2nd season and beyond. I have been a loyal HBO viewer and will continue to be one, but I have to say that SHOWTIME has passed you by and in today’s tight economy if I have to choose SHOWTIME will be the obvious choice.

That sux!!! I was really looking forward to the show. I find it hard to believe that it got low ratings..i was hooked from the first episode. I’ve been waiting and decided to google it because I hadn’t heard anything yet. Boy, am I disappointed!! I can think of plenty of things that need to be cancelled but this series isn’t one for sure. just watched the show unwillingly. terrible, even the fake sex scenes. great decision to cancel it b/c other than explicit fake sex, the stories are truly going nowhere. fell into asleep half way through. HBO shouldn’t even announce picking up second season in the first place. I’d rather watch any NBC shows than this.

I loved this show and i am really upset that i recommended it to friends to watch. If i would have known it was never coming back on i wouldn’t have bothered. What are the fans supposed to do with a season that ended the way it did and not have any resolve for what happen next? Hell i could write the next season if its too hard for a screenwriter to do. HBO should consider getting SOMEONE to continue this show if she can’t. It was an awesome show.

I am truly sad that the show has been cancelled. Its pathetic that they use lack of inspiration as reason to cancel a show that really hit home. This show was something that i could relate to. I am sad to see the loss of such a compelling story. I can only hope HBO has sense enough to bring it back.

Am very disappointed that this show will not return. As many here, i will remember the name Cynthia Mort in the context that she lacks creativity and will not be thought highly of in my mind. She had a great chance at making a legacy for being a great “real” writer and she blew it! If you claim to be a writer, be one! Not someone who “runs out” of creativity when needing to write a second season.
This show will be missed in our house, we loved the show and all the issues it dealt with. It felt like a “human” show in the jungle of reality tv and bad shows.
It was a great show and when I heard of the cancellation, we canceled our HBO subscription. No more good shows to watch on the network. Thank goddess for Showtime.

I agree with Tanya. After a whole season of following these characters we’re just left hanging. Why not write this as a film if you have nowhere to go with it? I can’t believe this writer did not have enough of a creative mind to continue these stories. I could come up with some great ones myself!! I think this writer’s credibility has definitely been damaged & I wouldn’t think much of hbo giving her another chance with a series. What has happened to hbo shows anyway? All the good ones are on Showtime.

I have to say i agree with swede_pete…I dont buy it!!!! this was one of the BEST shows on tv. the writing was dead on.. so raw, which is how REAL life is lived …in the flesh not sugar coated like so many other shows out there. I had no problem with the shows blatant sexuality…actually, I thought it was amazing that HBO had the guts to show and talk about REAL issues and how couples deal with them..or lack there of. Lets face it, Sex is a part of life, it’s never going away so why cant we look at it as something that we don’t need to be ashamed of…this is what i think ‘Tell me’ did and the characters had SO much potential. I know i could definitely relate to jamie and hugo’s relationship and was so releaved to see that i was not alone in realizing that sex can be and often is used as a major form of communication….wether its right or not, i dont know but at least it’s honesty without the words…

BRING THIS SHOW BACK!!!

I am making a note of Cynthia Mort’s name – I wont even bother to watch anything else she writes.

If you are going to be a one season wonder – write a screenplay – not a series.

The least she could have done was wrap up the lives of the characters instead of leaving everyone hanging like that.

What a waste of my time I am sticking with Showtime. Dexter, Califiornication, Tudors….

I am extremely disappointed!!! The series was excellent. It showed a deeper side of issues impacting families on all levels. It helped opened up the possibilities looking at relationships differently. I hope the decision is reconsidered.

I, like everyone else, am extremely disappointed that this show isn’t coming on for another season. My husband & I both were looking forward to see what was coming up next; so much that we were constantly talking about it. Tell Me You Love Me was the only show that we really could enjoy together, while relating to the issues. It was interesting that with episode, we were able to identify with some of the characters (or situations) & then we’d have a discussion about everything, etc.

Needless to say, I am terribly sad. I don’t know if I can get over this… unless, of course, there is some sort of a spin-off of what was. Sigh. How sad.

I can’t believe it!! I have waited, and waited to see more of the characters from this series. I can’t believe that The Carnivale, Rome, and Curb your enthusiasm can stay on but not tell me you love me. I truly enjoyed the show. I loved that it gave true insight on what goes on behind the closed doors of couples. I agree, the writer could have come up with something…. i can think of a million ways to take the story.

I am very disappointed to hear the show wont be returning. It really was a breath of fresh air to see that other ppl could relate to similar issues and that you are not the only one having those problems. I am pretty sure the makers could have brought more to the table rather than just giving up. (Probably due to internal politics)

It was the show that said what couples were thinking, but never dared to say! Except for In Treatment, there’s no other show out there like this…I’ll really miss it and the totally believable characters. It was more REAL than the reality shows!

im soooooo upset and dissapointed that tell me you love me isnt returning. for the first time in a very LONG time i felt this was a real and truthful show that showcased emotions ANYONE could relate to. I know MANY many people who watched every week with anticipation to see what would come next. From the Psychologist’s relationship to the young couple’s relationship you could relate to each of these dynamic characters. i am very saddened that this show will not return. its very dissapointing.
