The Assets: ABC Pulls Mini-Series After Two Episodes

The Assets canceledTo no surprise, ABC has pulled its very low-rated mini-series The Assets from the Thursday lineup.

For the next three weeks, the 10pm timeslot will be filled by Shark Tank reruns. It’s unclear what will fill the timeslot after that. Scandal is expected to return on February 27th.

It’s unclear what will become of the remaining six episodes of The Assets.

What do you think? Did you enjoy the series? Would you like to see the leftover episodes released online, on DVD as part of a full series set, or aired on Saturday nights?

Can’t believe this show has been pulled and we are left in the cesspool of realty television.
Such an important part of our history – hope this will be available on DVD or better netflix or hulu. Shame on you ABC!

You have GOT to be kidding! This is infuriating! I was really enjoying that show. ‘The Assets’ was well written and visually impressive, with an intriguing plot.
Paul Rhys is a fine actor, and I was so excited to see him in an American miniseries after years of obscure, but excellent BBC productions! It is terribly unfortunate that American audiences do not appreciate his brilliance in film or television. This show would have done better on a cable channel, or perhaps PBS, in which the viewers have a degree of culture and taste! Way to go, ABC.

Come on ABC…you give us 2 episodes of a good (but not great) drama, then you pull it due to ratings. If the entire series has been completed, find a spot where we can see the rest of the episodes or put it on ABC on demand. Sick of stupid “reality TV”, show us the balance of what we’ve already started to watch!

I really liked the show. It was history. I hate reality shows. Will have to read the book “Circle of Treason”, that is what the series was based on. The book was written by the CIA agents involved in the whole scandal.

Devastating blow. Entire family was “dialed in” to this exciting, real and intense series. A co-worker told me it was pulled. I thought for sure that he was kidding ! Get a grip !

I was disappointed. They should at least let the last 6 episodes run

Very good first two episodes. Cannot understand why the balance will not be shown. Please send to DVD, Netflix, or Hulu.

I really enjoyed this show & was looking forward to the ending. I detest these reality shows. They only happened because the writers went on strike & the networks found out that these crappy, no brainer reality shows were cheaper to produce.
Please show the rest of the series of The Assets.

The lack of viewers only goes to show WV just how fickled and scatterbrained the American public is!!! Intelligent script and a solid storyline (based on real events) have no place in the American home. I remember a time when intelligent and cutting edge scripts were a hallmarkof American television! It took talented people to pull these shows off. Evidently, these are greatly lacking in today’s market. When an intelligent script does come along now, it is delegated to the bottom of the heap by a viewing public that believes such shows as Duck Dynasty, Shark Tank, Real Housewives, and the likes are considered worthy of viewing television! I am very disappointed, but not surprised, in the American public! As for you, the network, I gave up on you guys a long time ago!!! Afterall, it is money above all else!!!

I cannot believe that you have cancelled this wonderful series which explores a part of our history and is actually of interest to people with the mental capacity to go beyond all the insipid reality shows. I have been watching for this show to air and since I seemed to miss the two episodes that did air, I spent my $1.99 per episode and watched them on Amazon. Also, I will NEVER waste my time on a ridiculous show like
“Shark Tank”. Please make the remaining episodes available on Saturday nights. Stop with the reality shows if you want my TV time….

I loved it too. Hooked from episode 1 and pulled after 2? Couldn’t believe it.
