The reason for the drop in ratings was because the seasons were so short. People easily forgot about it for that reason.

Great show, they shouldn’t have cancelled. Much better than 99% of the crappola on TV today, funny, create combination of characters and always good for a laugh. I’d rather watch reruns of this show than any of the Reality shows currently on. Don’t know who is watching that junk to drive up their ratings but then no one has ever cited TV exec’s as being smart. Just look at MASH and other shows that proved them wrong, time and time again…..

The show was totally lame and deserved to be cancelled.
And, hey Richie, they advertised the hell out of it, which clearly showed that interest was waning. Every commercial break had Bill Engvall saying, “TBS…very funny.” Unfortunately, he wasn’t.

I loved the Bill Engvall Show. Selling it to CMT would be a great idea. They are a good wholesome network. The Bill Engvall Show would have done great on the that network. I hope its just on hiatus for right now.

They need to sell to another network, like CMT…it was a great family show. Like the other comments, I agree, they never advertised it on when it would be on. If it had been on at a regular day, not the weekend, and time, they would have found an audience

ME TOO, i love that this is a show about a family that loves each other and doesn’t have to resort to dirty jokes like that two and a half men and other such comedies plentiful these days …tbs only gave it such brief seasons, once per year (and in the summer), hardly promoted it, then shuttled it away to a new night without putting the word out, not giving it a fair shake. i wish they would find another network to take it – CMT IS A GREAT IDEA! and i hope if the project can’t be saved that mr. engvall (and all the other very talented cast members!) find work and, continue to make respectable (wholesome) work that they can be proud of. my love to the cast and crew, god bless you all~

No, the show did not need to be cancelled! It was just never Advertised enough! I never knew when or where it came on…. I had to ask, and or look it up! This is pretty sorry, I like the show of its wholesomeness! Better than most of today’s crap! In my book, I rate it up there along with my OTHER favorite show ” HOUSE ”

Turner has a habit of doing this when they need a timeslot for something they like better (like MyBoys, apparently) or when they decide to cut back on something; they move a show people like, and have liked in the past to an obscure time slot on a night when a lot of people don’t sit at home watching TV, and then use the decline in ratings to justify canning the show.

I just think it’s hard to maintain an audience when you only order 10 episodes a year. TBS doesn’t show any reruns of this show in the winter, so people tend to forget about it.

I’m surprised that “My Boys” is still around.

What do you expect when you move a show to a weekend to compete with other shows. TBS is STUPID and so is anyone who thinks it should have been canceled. All that’s on tv these days are things about drugs and murder, what about family. Cancel Cable, how about that!!!

i am so upset about this show being cancelled! there are few shows on tv that are not filled with inappropriate content. this was a show i actually looked forward to seeing. but as usual if there are no drugs, guns, or sex in it then they don’t usually last. so sad!

why do tv execs keep cancelling shows that the whole family can enjoy? Must you always have crime of some sort in order to believe people will watch? I think you need to give the viewers a chance to catch up with the shows schedule.

This is just another example of no respect for the cast and crew and fans of a tv show.
They barely ordered a half-season of episodes each year, and you’d have to really look hard for any ads for the show. And good luck if you ever wanted to catch repeats the 42 weeks out of the year there were no new episodes.

I will miss this show not just because it was funny, but because for a change it showed an honest, American family with kids who listen to their parents and don’t have to go out and use drugs and have sex all the time like most other shows. Where were the “family values” supporters for the Bill Engvall show?

I guess we won’t have much reason to watch TBS (or A&E) for that matter since they cancel all of their good scripted content.

Absolutley not, The bill Engvall Show Should Not Have Been Cancelled. I Loved This Show Since The Very Begoning, and i think that this was the best thing that TBS has came out with. But This Show Is sadly, know cancelled, While Crap Like Tyler Perrys House Of Payne Still Lives On!
