The Bonnie Hunt Show: Daytime Talk Show Cancelled, No Season Three

The Bonnie Hunt Show canceledThe end is coming for The Bonnie Hunt Show after two seasons on the air. Hosted by actress and comedian Bonnie Hunt, the Warner Bros. syndicated show has been struggling in the ratings essentially since it debuted.

The series has stayed on the air for two seasons mainly because NBC-owned stations had made a two-year deal. Warners could have pulled the plug last spring but instead showed faith and hoped that ratings would improve. Now that the agreement is coming to an end, so is The Bonnie Hunt Show.

Hunt reportedly gave the bad news to her staff on Monday morning but the cancellation wasn’t officially confirmed until last night.

By all accounts, the daytime series will remain in production and complete the season so there are lots of new episodes to come.

What do you think? Why did the show fail? Is there no room for more than a couple of daytime talk shows, like The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show? Or, is there something lacking in Hunt’s show?

I am disappointed to hear that the Bonnie Hunt show is being canceled. Her show is such a bright spot in the realm of talkshows as it is honest, funny and clean entertainment. Please know that I will miss the show. Shame on those who only are interested in big ratings and big bucks.

I will truly miss the Bonnie Hunt Show. It was funny and heart warming. Her interviews were entertaining and interesting. I don’t understand why all the good shows get cancelled. Thank you, Bonnie, and I hope we see you in something else very soon.

Finally a good talk show came on that was worth watching and now it has been canceled. There is so little good TV in the AM that this news is very disapponting. A talented lady, with good frieds around to support her, and interesting guests, that to me is good TV. I think this pleasant, non-racy, interesting show will be hard to replace. Does every show have to be a big bang? Good taste & nostalgia should be encouraged, there is so much of people airing thier dirty laundry, a show that encouages good deeds, and honors people has been canceled. Shame on the network .

This is a terrible thing that Warner Bros. is doing to “The Bonnie Hunt Show”. It’s a great show and should not be cancelled. Carl Reiner knows show business and what makes a show.

If anyone has never seen this show you need to watch it. You’ll understand better why then they need to keep her on the air. This is a show that you know if you need to leave the room for a moment – you don’t have to worry about leaving your child in the room with this show on.

Hmmmm…they ask what was the Bonnie Hunt show missing???? Well I think it was entertaining because it was missing all those boring drama type people Oprah has on all the time and it was missing the goofy dancing & game stuff Ellen does. Bonnie has such a quick sense of humor that I just laugh out loud at how she goes back and forth with her crew members and audience guests. There’s nothing like a person who can laugh at themselves and be really sincere and funny.

I guess I’m lucky in that respect. I’m in PA and she is on at 9 AM on ABC. I just love the parts where she ridicules the bachelor. She shows a short clip-and then that’s all that is necessary. Everyone in the audience just starts laughing like crazy. I will really miss that show.

When I lived in Illinois Bonnie Hunt Show was put up against Rachael Ray. Why can’t she be put in a time slot that is not against such a heavy hitter. Rachel Ray shows people how to cook in 15 minutes a great meal. Most people want to have ideas for cooking. I love Bonnie Hunt. She is actually my favorite show on television. A day without Bonnie is not a day worth living. She is my sunshine vitamin and I love her dog, Mom, and most especially her stage crew. Ellen DeGeneris is nothing in comparison to Bonnie. It is so refreshing not to be fed garbage but funny and real life jokes. Who ever is making the decisions for her show is really not aware of how much she is loved.

Now that it looks certain that this show will be canceled, I’d like to ask a question for anyone who may be privy to this information. Since Bonnie is seen on ABC, NBC, and Fox, might one of these networks have the option of picking up the show? The show is not only for older folks. My daughter is in her early thirties. She had never seen the show so she watched it when she was off work one day. SHE LOVED IT. She & I hardly ever enjoy the same shows. BOTTOM LINE-The Bonnie Hunt Show is interesting to a variety of age groups. Therefore, the networks and their advertisers would have positive results from grabbing up her show and promoting it….not even to mention Bonnie’s great guests. Some of them are better than the ones promoting their shows on Letterman & Leno.
