The Bonnie Hunt Show: Daytime Talk Show Cancelled, No Season Three

The Bonnie Hunt Show canceledThe end is coming for The Bonnie Hunt Show after two seasons on the air. Hosted by actress and comedian Bonnie Hunt, the Warner Bros. syndicated show has been struggling in the ratings essentially since it debuted.

The series has stayed on the air for two seasons mainly because NBC-owned stations had made a two-year deal. Warners could have pulled the plug last spring but instead showed faith and hoped that ratings would improve. Now that the agreement is coming to an end, so is The Bonnie Hunt Show.

Hunt reportedly gave the bad news to her staff on Monday morning but the cancellation wasn’t officially confirmed until last night.

By all accounts, the daytime series will remain in production and complete the season so there are lots of new episodes to come.

What do you think? Why did the show fail? Is there no room for more than a couple of daytime talk shows, like The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show? Or, is there something lacking in Hunt’s show?

I am sooo sad about Bonnie being canceled:( I love love Bonnie. I am in my 30s and find her soooo funny!
I am not able to watch her everyday but I sure do love her show and will miss her not being on. Infact, I am watching her show right now.

I have enjoyed all the shows she has done! I used to love the live parts of her old Bonnie show.
You will be missed from Minnesota!

I couldn’t believe it when I heard this show was cancelled. I hope they receive enough flack from the public to reconsider. It was so fabulous. We learned more how people got their start. She gets at the heart of the actors and how passionate they are about their craft.
Just another dumb network move.

This has to be the dumbest thing this Network has done. WHY???

I do NOT believe that Bonnie Hunt didn’t get enough people watching her. No way will
they convince us of that. She is the bright part of our afternoon.

My husband I just love her show and we are furious that the people that made this
stupid decision got away with this. I would FIRE them NOW.

I just found this show of Bonnie’s two months ago. I now watch it everyday as I am getting ready for my daily grind. How on earth can such a happy, good feeling, human interest show go off the air? Our country needs this show!!!!! Hello!!!! Is anyone listening??????? Maybe Oprah”s new network will take this to task. Personally, I do not think The Bonnie Hunt Show recieved enough promotion. Why did we not see promos on TV?. Somebody dropped the ball on this one!!!! Shame!!

Dropped the ball is putting it lightly. There are many people who have never viewed the show, because they don’t even know about it. I read USA today-they mention the stars who will be on the morning talk shows the next day. I watch Bonnie at 9AM EST in Johnstown,PA on ABC. The Bonnie Hunt Show is not even listed with the other morning shows. People are viewing her on Fox, NBC and ABC. Someone is either afraid of losing their viewers to her, or the powers that be are losing their marbles. This show is clean, wholesome, laugh out loud fun. Some shows are canceled for a reason. This show is being canceled for no particular reason.

I can’t believe you are taking this show off the air when she is so human.
The show is not perfect and shows flaws of everyone with humanity and
compassion. You should be ashamed to take something this touching off
the air when people are in such need for this type of show. Today, 3/8
was so touching with the man who needs a double lung transplant and the
response from the audience and guests. We certainly need more of this.

Either Bonnie Hunt was NEVER MENTIONED on the list of shows OR you are
lying because we ALL LOVE LOVE LOVE the Bonnie Hunt show.

Even my son who lost his job and my husband just cannot believe that she is being
cancelled. You had better check the person who is making these rediculous decisions maybe it is a job change for THEM…..like NOW.

Isabel and Bob-You are so right. I do think that whoever is canceling this show
should be looking for a new job. That is clear headed thinking.

My wife and I record Bonnie daily and watch it at night rather than the normal moronic talk shows and assorted crap.

I am sorry to see this show cancelled as it was a breath of fresh air by a class act.

You always made my day and the closeness you have with your family is so wonderful and I will miss you so much. I have followed you with all the many things you have done and you are a real inspiration to everyone young and old. I’m 68 years and my husband is 71…. Thank you sooo much for the two years of entertainment you have given us. I hope you and your family have may years of happiness and good health. Love and many hugs, Judy Isham

I thought that someone had made a mistake! Bonnie Hunt cancelled? NOT FUNNY! The greatest person to happen to daytime TV? EVER? If they think this is a good thing for the network they are seriously deluded. She is soooo refreshing in a time when we are desperately in need of a breath of fresh air. My disabled son-in-law and I watch Bonnie every morning. If I am in a down mood she always lifts my spirits. Why do we need to compromise? Bonnie is so real and down to earth and has a heart of gold. Her staff antics just crack me up every time. Don’t take her away from us! WE LOVE YOU BONNIE!

I am so sorry to learn that the Bonnie Hunt Show is going off the air. I absolutely love this show and will miss it. I have never laughed so hard when watching her show.
I have enjoyed watching Bonnie’s mom, Alice, on the show too; what a sweet woman.
You can see why Bonnie is such a likable person. Bonnie interacts so well with her crew/staff, they are like a big family and have made me laugh to the point of tears.

I hope somehow the show can stay on for many more seasons because I will truly miss laughing along with Bonnie.

Please do not cancel her show; she is better than Oprah. Oprah is not friendly like Bonnie. Bonnie is a real person who really cares about people and she is not full of herself like Oprah. I watched her show daily and I prefer to watch her than Ellen and Oprah.

I Love, Love, Love Bonnie Hunt!!
I’m from Chicago and listening to her stories and that accent is like a letter from home. Her mom is a hoot as well. I do hope someone picks up her show – like The Oxygen network.

I am disgusted with Fox! How could you take off this show? I think it’s because she so real, decent, clean and honest! You will probably replace it with some smut! Typical, but that is only an opinion! Why would you cancel a show that people really cared about. What gives Fox the right to regulate what we watch on television! Everything today is for sensationalism, the bloodier, scarier, weird or foul it is seems to get the T.V. slots. Ridiculous! It’s time to move on to another network for this family! WE LOVE YOU BONNIE!!!!!!! MOVE TO ANOTHER NETWORK!!!!!! You are ‘THE BEST’…………..RETHINK! Fox!

I am past angry. I am now sad. For the last two days, they have been showing recent repeats. You know what that probably means. Since there won’t be a 3rd season, it’s undoubtedly means the show has ended. Also, since the show is on Fox, ABC, and other networks, there is no framework for anyone to find it. It is not even listed on morning shows in USA today. Everyone is so excited that Betty White will be on SNL. Well, Bonnie already had Betty on her show as well as other A Listers. Bonnie is quick witted, and her show doesn’t have the stiffness of others such as Ellen, Oprah, or even The View. It is just laugh out loud fun with great stars–oops I mean it WAS laugh out loud fun with great stars.
