After 30 years, Robin Williams has returned to television in The Crazy Ones. Will his new show measure up to CBS’ high ratings standards for their sitcoms, or will it be cancelled like so many others? Time will tell.
The Crazy Ones follows an unorthodox ad agency executive (Williams) and his partner and daughter (Sarah Michelle Gellar). The rest of the cast includes James Wolk, Hamish Linklater, and Amanda Setton.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/10 update: The Crazy Ones has been cancelled by CBS after one season.
Final season averages: 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 8.32 million total viewers.

Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like The Crazy Ones TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a second season?
“crap-o-Slovakia” is Slovak Republic #Slovakia
THE CRAZY ONES 1.15 Dead & Improved (opening scene) aired CBS February 6 2014
Robin Williams “It’s not a jingle, you buffoon, it’s a journey, and your singers are taking us on a detour through crap-o-Slovakia!”
Jana Kasperkevic @kasperka Feb 6 2014
Robin Williams just made “crapo-slovakia” joke on @CBS
And I found Tweet:
Boris Pršo @borisprso Nov 26 2013
hey @TwoHalfMen_CBS “President of what? Crapo – Slovakia?”
TWO AND A HALF MEN
Absolutely hate the show it’s Boring
I don’t care for William’s slapstick, farcical “humor,” but I enjoy Gellar’s acting. However, even if Gellar were cloned and there were 1,ooo of her, this “comedy” would remain what it is: a boring groaner that should never have aired and should be canceled immediately. Williams may not be able to do any better (he’s lucky to get any work at all), but Gellar has, can, and should again.
Am I reading this right?? Are you saying that a guy like Robin Williams, who has been in TV, made dozens of movies and also did thousands of stand up routines is “lucky to get any work at all”?? Good lord, the guy has been in front of cameras since 1978, already done one movie this year and is scheduled to do three more by years end, not to mention currently on TV. Robin is not lucky, he’s extremely talented to be doing what he’s doing for over 35 years.
Agree with everything you wrote, but you left out the fact that he’s no longer funny.
Whatever!!! If the guy wasn’t funny, then he would not have lasted 35 years in TV, stand up and movies
It started of slow but its found its pace now. The characters are getting better and love the chemistry between Miss Gellar and Mr.Williams. Give it a chance.
Horrible show. Have tried watching it a couple times but it just isn’t funny. Too bad because I really like Robin Williams.
great show, every episode is a hoot. Definitely renew.
I tried watching this show three times, but it really was more stupid than funny. Compared to The Big Bang Theory, this show just isn’t funny and Robin Williams, of whom I have been a fan for years, seems to be pushing the laughs rather than letting them come naturally, like he’s trying too hard. Sorry, it’s still, TBBT, The Middle, The New Girl, and The Mindy Project for me (in comedy genre)…..
Robin Williams creeped me out after seeing him in “One Hour Photo.” Trying too hard to be funny. Characters don’t work well together. It almost seems like this show was forced into production.
The show seems to have found its audience. Only one time in the last six weeks, the show has lost viewers, and is up about 2 million viewers from December. If the numbers keep up like they are, the show is almost certain to get a second season.
Have to agree with most of the comments about this show being boring…. I find it trys way too hard to be funny and falls flat…. Can cancel it without any fear of losing me on CBS…..
CANCEL IT,
I love the Crazy Ones. It’s fast paced, Robin Williams is funnier than hell, has a good, solid cast. One thing is missing, and that is a mom for Sydney. Pam Dawber would fill that role. Get her on!!
I like Robin Williams, but sad to say this show is boring. Not funny at all. Disappointed.
I cannot believe they signed a full season for the Crazy Ones. I don,t believe the ratings numbers one bit…how can anyone enjoy being bored?
There is however a positive to the show it is not rank as is Two and one half Men.
There are men like Allen but I don’t want to see or hear it in a supposedly comedy form. It is almost soft porn.
Although I am a Robin Williams fan this show is absolutely BORING. We watched 3 episodes and it didn’t get any better. We will no longer tune in on “the Crazy Ones”
I have to say I was worried about the chemistry and some other issues with if it could be funny, but I really like the chemistry , the humor and some of the sedimental moments that are shared between robin Williams and Sarah Michelle gellar . It is a nice change from the filthy and dirty comedy of two and a half men.
I like Robin Williams as a dramatic actor, but he just isn’t funny. He talks really quickly and says disjointed things, trying to startle a laugh out of you. But this was played out after the first season of “Mork & Mindy.” Please stop, Robin… you’re better than this.
