After 30 years, Robin Williams has returned to television in The Crazy Ones. Will his new show measure up to CBS’ high ratings standards for their sitcoms, or will it be cancelled like so many others? Time will tell.
The Crazy Ones follows an unorthodox ad agency executive (Williams) and his partner and daughter (Sarah Michelle Gellar). The rest of the cast includes James Wolk, Hamish Linklater, and Amanda Setton.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/10 update: The Crazy Ones has been cancelled by CBS after one season.
Final season averages: 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 8.32 million total viewers.

Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like The Crazy Ones TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a second season?
Can I ask what the hell is wrong with the people running CBS? My God – give shows a chance…the Crazy One’s is awesome and Friends With Better Lives didn’t even get off the ground yet but has such a great cast and so funny. Whoever is running this channel are a bunch of morons and need to reschedule awesome shows like this to give them more of a chance. CBS s*cks. Point blank. Mind you I am a big fan of NCIS, Big Bang Theory and Criminal minds so I am on CBS often but very, very disappointed in… Read more »
Love love d show my whole family and everyone i know watch it. It is sad sooooooooooooooooo sad!! Waaaaahhhhh! Bring it back please!
I am so bummed that this did not get renewed. It was clever and witty and packed so much great fun into a half hour show !
Please bring back the “Crazy Ones”!! I love this show. It’s definitely one of the best written sophisticated shows on. The ensemble cast, especially Brad Garrett, is great. CBS is the crazy one for letting this go. Cable networks take note!!
Brenda, CBS cannot bring back The Crazy Ones, even if it wanted to since they have to announce their new lineup by the 15th of May. The only way Robin and the gang comes back is that either NBC or ABC buy it from CBS. Cable is not likely to pick it up seeing how expensive it would be to run a show like that. I’m just as sad about the show being canceled as everyone here is, but in reality, there is very little we can do about it.
Sad to hear that yet another great show has been cancelled. With all the stupid reality shows that don’t take any acting skill out there it was nice to have a show that delivered laughs. Getting tired of investing time in a good program only to have the sour puss bottom line pencil pushers being in control of my entertainment. Looks like it’s time to choose a different network to watch!
Finally a funny show worth watching!
Are these ratings really accurate though? So many people stream tv shows or watch them elsewhere…. Is this demographic being calculated? Should be!
I, too, have fallen victim of the cancelled awesome show…. Firefly, anyone?

Very funny show next year will do better in ratings if renewed
What impressed me about Crazy Ones was how quickly it fell into using the full ensemble cast. The on screen team gel and bounce off each other astoundingly well. This is an important element that keeps the viewer interested and entertained even during episodes with weaker A or B stories. The guest appearances have all been top notch and a delight to witness. Major kudos for adding and integrating Brad Garrett to the cast. While eveyone may not love this show in the audience, I would blame some of its ratings troubles on programming decisions. Notably the 2 final episodes… Read more »
The Crazy Ones is one of the best and most sophisticated sitcoms on television, and it deserves a chance to find its audience. If it’s not renewed by CBS, I hope some enterprising cable channel will pick it up for next season. Fight for quality television: Renew The Crazy Ones!
Seems like all my favourite shows get cancelled…
– Loved the Crazy Ones, cancelled
– Loved Go-On, cancelled
– Loved Wedding Band, cancelled
Seems like only HBO have the guts for something new! Must be a sad job to only go by ratings…..
I think that this show is different from alot of the shows out there and that it should be renewed.
This show is hilarious. With great writing and a stellar cast, it is the most entertaining show on television. If CBS doesn’t renew, I’d say they’re the crazy ones!
This is one of the funniest shows on TV but the oneliners come so fast and furious that without a rewind you’d miss many of them. This show hasn’t been dumbed down like most TV sitcoms. This probably explains why its ratings aren’t higher. If CBS cancels it, it would show that the network is willing to sacrifice class for ratings.
The Crazy Ones has great acting and good writing. Believeable characters and solid story add up to this show deserving a chance to find it’s true audience. I, for one, would like to see it renewed for the next season.
I love this show so please RENEW for another season and keep the blooper reel at the end. Bloopers are always funny.
