The Firm: To Be Cancelled on Saturdays Too?

The Firm canceledIf you need proof that The Firm is doomed to be cancelled by NBC, you just have to look at the show’s ratings. Not only did the new legal series bomb on Thursday nights but it’s currently being trounced on Saturday nights as well — airing opposite CSI: New York repeats, 20/20, and FOX’s forgotten Q’Viva! The Chosen reality series.

The ratings for The Firm have been so poor that one had to start wondering if NBC might bump the series off the Saturday schedule as well. Well, that’s what they’re doing — at least for one week.

This week’s episode of The Firm has been replaced by a rerun of the 90-minute premiere of Fashion Star (which debuts tonight). That will be followed by an encore of the first episode of Betty White’s Off Their Rockers, which first aired in January. Rockers returns to the NBC schedule on April 4th.

On March 24th, NBC has slotted an episode of the USA Network series Fairly Legal at 8pm, a slot that had been filled by reruns of Smash. The network hasn’t announced which episode of Fairly Legal will air but the season two opener (which will run this Friday on USA) seems likely.

The network is shaking up their Saturday night schedule and if they can come up with better numbers than what The Firm has been getting, the legal drama could easily be off the schedule for good. NBC has aired just 10 of the show’s 22 episodes thus far.

What do you think? Are you still watching NBC’s The Firm? Do you watch the episodes on Saturday nights, on demand or online? Would you be upset if NBC pulled it for good?

This is the best show NBC has – by FAR! I hate that they kept screwing with the nights and that NBC can’t find someone to do its scheduling decently. I hope/wish a cable channel will pick this show up – it really is too good to lose!

Do not cancel The Firm. It is getting really annoying to get into a show and you cancel it. Give it a chance. Awesome series!!!

I love this series. Please do not cancel The Firm. It gets really annoying to viewers when the networks spend all this money on shows and let the viewer get into a good show and it’s gone. Get rid of all the reality TV!!!

This show is AWESOME!!! It sickens me that the ratings are not high. If it was loaded with sex this show would be off the charts. All of the DECENT television shows get canned and are replace with TRASH! Please do not cancel this show!!!! This is one of the only programs that I can watch without shooing my kids out of the room.

I can’t believe another good show , The Firm, is being cancelled. I too say there’s too much junkie shows out and when you get a good TV show you don’t give it a chance. I read book and saw the movie (The Firm). At least let us fans that are watching get a closure of this series.

The best series on TV in my opinion. It gets better every week and is quite educational as to the judicial missteps too often seen in this country which allows the guilty to go free … and the innocent to be railroaded into prison by overzealous prosecutors. I’d really hate to see a quality series like this be dropped.

Please don’t cancel this TV Series. My husband and I just love it!! If we are not going to be at home we always record it. We felt upset that is was not on this last Saturday. Great story line. Give it a chance to catch on.

We think the show is exciting, suspenseful, and fun to watch. We wish they wouldn’t cancel the show and just leave us hanging right in the middle of all that has taken place so far. We just don’t get it. The TV is saturated with those dumb REALITY SHOWS and finally we get a show that we look forward to seeing and they cancel it.

Love this show. Can’t believe that it is being cancelled. New time slot is needed. If it conflicts with another show, I just DVR and watch on another night. Please don’t take off network. I am so sick of all the junk on TV…keep writing good stuff and keep it on the air!!

I have really enjoyed The Firm! I watch it on demand because its hard to sit at home on a Saturday night and watch t.v. That was a bad switch from thursdays for the show. But its a great story line and great acting

if you are going to cancel a show you can at least give the loyal fans a good ending, this is one of the main reasons people record shows and fast foreward commercils, as for my wife and my self we love the firm, the best way to kill a show is to move it around, but
what do I know Ive just been trying to watch it for all most 70 yrs now, you are not doing a good job.
