The Firm: To Be Cancelled on Saturdays Too?

The Firm canceledIf you need proof that The Firm is doomed to be cancelled by NBC, you just have to look at the show’s ratings. Not only did the new legal series bomb on Thursday nights but it’s currently being trounced on Saturday nights as well — airing opposite CSI: New York repeats, 20/20, and FOX’s forgotten Q’Viva! The Chosen reality series.

The ratings for The Firm have been so poor that one had to start wondering if NBC might bump the series off the Saturday schedule as well. Well, that’s what they’re doing — at least for one week.

This week’s episode of The Firm has been replaced by a rerun of the 90-minute premiere of Fashion Star (which debuts tonight). That will be followed by an encore of the first episode of Betty White’s Off Their Rockers, which first aired in January. Rockers returns to the NBC schedule on April 4th.

On March 24th, NBC has slotted an episode of the USA Network series Fairly Legal at 8pm, a slot that had been filled by reruns of Smash. The network hasn’t announced which episode of Fairly Legal will air but the season two opener (which will run this Friday on USA) seems likely.

The network is shaking up their Saturday night schedule and if they can come up with better numbers than what The Firm has been getting, the legal drama could easily be off the schedule for good. NBC has aired just 10 of the show’s 22 episodes thus far.

What do you think? Are you still watching NBC’s The Firm? Do you watch the episodes on Saturday nights, on demand or online? Would you be upset if NBC pulled it for good?

I agree with all of the The Firm’s supporters. This is a superb program and I sincerely hope that NBC reconsiders or someone else picks it up.

I really like this show!!! There are many others that could be cancelled instead of this show. I like the characters and the story line. I am so tired of investing my time into something that is really good and then it gets cancelled. Come on!!!!

This is the best show NBC has! Cancel some of the dumb shows, like Betty White!

Has The Firm been canceled because there’s not enough cursing and sex in it! It was the best new show last year. I am ticked.

I am sick to death of all of the reality shows! All they do is show fairly good people acting badly! It seems to me that all of the shows that really have some decent entertainment go off the air! My sisters and I love “The Firm”! Whatever night it is on! But, you see, it doesn’t have a lot of sexual material, they don’t say the ‘gd’ and the ‘F’ word every sentence, so I guess it just doesn’t make it for people who don’t need all of that nonsense in a tv show! Please cut us some slack and keep the show on the air!!!!!

I am so happy. The episode 19 on NBE that was preempted by Betty White’s reruns is now scheduled to show this week on 6/23 on NBC at 10:00pm PST and episode 20 is pushed back a week and will air on 6/30. such a great show

I absolutely love the firm. Our whole family watches it and it is always so suspenseful. I think it should be on a better day….in the weekday. It never really gets advertised. I sure hope it does not get cancelled.

I agree with everyone who says that garbage stays on the the air and the decent shows get canceled! The Firm keeps you on the edge of your seat. You can’t wait to know what happens in the next episode. You need to keep it on the air!

The Firm is one of the best fast moving shows with excellent plots. Please do not cancel the series. I watch it every Saturday night.

I really like The Firm, it had me on the edge of my seat a few times. I don’t understand who rates these things. Every time a good show comes on it seems to be replaced by something stupid. I vote for season 2!!

YES ! I do watch the firm it’s a really good series you just need to stop moving it around showing one week and not the other at this point nobody even knows if it’s coming on or not thank goodness i have it set to tape or i would miss when you do show new episodes. Where are the advertisement to even know what is going on. if you advertised and ran it from the beginning so people would know what is going on it would get the ratings. if you have 22 episodes i think it’s only fair that you show them all for those of us you can’t wait for the next show to air. What the World!!!!

Really like the show. Will be disappointed if it is taken off the air. The acting is excellent and the story line is really good. Hope that NBC does not cancel it and fill it in with a stupid reality show. I would also like to know where I can see the final episodes.

Favorite new show. Great plot, actors, fast-paced. Might have had a chance if NBC actually promoted it, stopped switching night it was on and having viewers discover it was moved to Saturdays, and not as reruns, and then not being on half the Saturdays it was supposed to be! Want to see all episodes!

My family loves the firm. We look forward to it. It might have had better ratings if it was on regularly. If you cancel, please tell us where to watch the final episodes.
