The Firm: To Be Cancelled on Saturdays Too?

The Firm canceledIf you need proof that The Firm is doomed to be cancelled by NBC, you just have to look at the show’s ratings. Not only did the new legal series bomb on Thursday nights but it’s currently being trounced on Saturday nights as well — airing opposite CSI: New York repeats, 20/20, and FOX’s forgotten Q’Viva! The Chosen reality series.

The ratings for The Firm have been so poor that one had to start wondering if NBC might bump the series off the Saturday schedule as well. Well, that’s what they’re doing — at least for one week.

This week’s episode of The Firm has been replaced by a rerun of the 90-minute premiere of Fashion Star (which debuts tonight). That will be followed by an encore of the first episode of Betty White’s Off Their Rockers, which first aired in January. Rockers returns to the NBC schedule on April 4th.

On March 24th, NBC has slotted an episode of the USA Network series Fairly Legal at 8pm, a slot that had been filled by reruns of Smash. The network hasn’t announced which episode of Fairly Legal will air but the season two opener (which will run this Friday on USA) seems likely.

The network is shaking up their Saturday night schedule and if they can come up with better numbers than what The Firm has been getting, the legal drama could easily be off the schedule for good. NBC has aired just 10 of the show’s 22 episodes thus far.

What do you think? Are you still watching NBC’s The Firm? Do you watch the episodes on Saturday nights, on demand or online? Would you be upset if NBC pulled it for good?

This was one of the best tv shows on televisions. I looked forward every week in seeing it. The actors portrayed their roles excellently. Please bring back the show and promote it as well as you do some of the reality shows and I think you will see an increase in the showing.

THE FIRM HAS ALWAYS BEEN ON OUR “MUST SEE” LIST. MANY OF OUR FRIENDS ALSO LOVE IT. THE LEAST THE NETWORK COULD DO IS FINISH
THE SERIES WITH A CONCLUDING EPISODE. SHAME ON NBC.

This has been a very good series. Much better than most reality shows. One of the best shows this year. A mistake for NBC to end it.

I watched every week as well as taped on my DVR to watch again. The writing and character development were great. I enjoy Grishams books and I am sorry to see this series go. I wished they could have brought the story to a conclusion rather than what the last did..”left you hanging”

I look forward to The Firm every week. If we are not going to be home I dvr it to
watch later but as soon as we can. It will be really crummy if NBC doesn’t air the
rest of the shows–there is sooo much we need to know. Love the actors and love
the show. I may never watch a new series on NBC again. They seem to like to
cancel them in mid season and then you are left hanging. Again!!

I am so sorry to see the note that The Firm has its series finale. I really, really liked the show, the actors, the stories. It was one of those shows that kept me so interested that I couldn’t wait to see the next episode. I am very disappointed it is going off the air, especially leaving the end hanging!

The Firm is fabulous entertainment. If NBC won’t carry it , I hope another network will pick it up.

I truly, truly, truly enjoy “The Firm”!! I DVR it every week. Please do what you can NBC to bring it back. I just finished watching episode 22. I was disappointed not to see a preview for next weeks episode. Then, I rushed to the internet to see if I could find a returning date. All I could find was that the series had been canceled and that their were only 22 episodes produced. The story line you have going can’t end like this. I want to know the outcome of how the McDeer’s came out of this situation with Joey’s mob family and the Russian mob family. The McDeers are such a close knit family that work through life threatening situations as a team. There’s much for families to learn from this TV drama. We need to see more of this on TV. This is a great acting team. I beg you to bring it back. Thanks!!

I really enjoyed watching this show – I looked forward to seeing it every week. It is the best T.V. show currently and in a long time.
The acting, the story line are all great. I do hope there will be many more episodes of this very fine t.v. series.

I don’t think NBC is looking at The Firm in the right way! They NEVER promoted it, like they do some of the mind numbing shows they are renewing, I have NEVER seen a commercial for upcoming episodes, they just let it die! They never gave it a chance! I absolutely love the show & so do ALOT of my friends. I dvr it every Saturday night even if I’m home because there are alot of pivitol plot points to the series! I’m tired of all the Law & Order BS that’s been on TV since I was in diapers. Its no wonder I watch more CBS programming. At least CSI Las Vegas is fresh and original after 12 years! If i want ripped from the headlines I’ll read the papers!!! Alot of ppl like to watch shows where you have to think & stimulate your brain not just lay around and drool on yourself like your institutionalized. The Firm is a GREAT SHOW & I am disappointed that NBC didn’t give it a chance. Well back to CBS I GO!!!!

Show has to come back. Great tv show. With all the junk on tv I can’t believe they’d scrap this show. Just watched the finale. When it said six weeks later I realizes we may never know………

This is the only show on TV that I absolutely will not miss. TV has become nothing but STUPID reality shows. This series is so good. I think putting it on another day or time slot would give it another chance. Please reconsider!!!! The actors on the show really make the storyline come alive. Josh Lucas is an amazing talent. I have read all of John Grisham’s novels. Please please please brings it back!

I look forward to the firm. There are far too many mindless shows on TV. This show has a talented ensemble with intriguing story lines. Oh wait….maybe that is why NBC is canceling it…..because it is neither a reality or a cookie-cutter detective show…..and the characters can “string 2 sentences together.”. Gee, what a concept.
