The CW has picked up The Flash, the Arrow spin-off that’s based on the long-running DC Comics superhero.
Grant Gustin will play the title role and John Wesley Shipp, who played the superhero in the 1990 TV series, will have a role that has yet to be announced. Other castmembers include Candice Patton, Carlos Valdes, Danielle Panabaker, Jesse L. Martin, Michelle Harrison, Patrick Sabongui, Rick Cosnett, and Tom Cavanagh.
Here’s the network’s description:
THE FLASH – Barry Allen is a Central City assistant police forensics investigator who arrives in Starling to look into a series of unexplained robberies that may have a connection to a tragedy in his past. A comic book fanboy, Barry is obsessed with the Arrow unaware that working with Oliver and Felicity to solve the crime has brought him right into the dangerous world of the vigilante.
No word on how many episodes have been ordered or when the series will start airing. We should know more in the coming week.
