the forgotten: Not Cancelled But, Was That the Last Episode?

the forgottenDespite what you might have read elsewhere, the forgotten has not been officially cancelled. The show may actually return with new episodes this season. But, don’t get too excited just yet.

ABC’s the forgotten details the cases taken on by a group of talented civilians once the police can’t go any further. The series features the talents of Slater, Michelle Borth, Heather Stephens, Bob Stephenson, Rochelle Aytes, Anthony Carrigan, Judith Hoag, Lily Rains, and Elisha Cuthbert.

ABC recently did some reshuffling of their primetime schedule and decided to replace the March 16th and 23rd episodes of the forgotten. It was reported that the network was also calling the March 9th episode, the “season finale.”

An ABC representative has confirmed to us that that’s not the case. He tells us that the network didn’t promote this week’s episode as the season finale and may still air the remaining two installments sometime in the next several months.

The episode that aired this week, “Donovan Doe,” was originally scheduled to run on March 23rd and finish the season. That makes sense since an ongoing storyline, the fate of Alex’s long-missing daughter, was resolved in a shocking twist. The episode works well as a season finale and very likely will have to serve as the series finale as well. As we’ve discussed before, it’s a longshot at best that the forgotten will be renewed for a second season because of low ratings.

TV show supportIf by chance it is renewed, there’s a good chance that Cuthbert won’t be part of it. The actress has been signed for a lead role on a new comedy pilot for ABC. Happy Endings revolves around a bride (Cuthbert) and a groom who break up at the altar and try to work out how to stay friends with their four compadres.

What do you think? Are you happy that ABC at least aired the season (likely series) finale? Do you think they’ll air the remaining two episodes?

You’ll keep Jersey Shore on the air but cancel an excellent show like this.
Give me a break.

I hope that The Forgotten doesn’t get canclled! The show’s that NEED to be cancelled are the Reality shows, which IMHO, totally BLOW!!! It seems like networks cancel all the shows that I like to watch, and keep the ones I turn off. Oh how I wish I had a Nielsson rating box on my tv, so my opinion would get counted!
CANCEL THE SO CALLED REALITY SHOWS, NOT THE FORGOTTEN!!!
It is getting very hard to find something good to watch on television these days. I’m glad I have a Netflix subscription, so I’ll always have something I actually want to watch on hand when the only thing that is on are stupid reality shows.

Work nights and sad to say no nielson box to help skew the ratings. Looked forward to getting out of work and watching the previous nights forgotten! Hope it hasn’t gone the way most of the ones I like go. May not see it live, but i still have to watch the commercials even if in fast forward. Tell the advertisers better to have me seen their product than to not have turned on the tv at all!

I love this show and hope it does come back. I would love to see the last two episodes made, but not aired. With so much stupid nonsense on TV, it was refreshing to see something creative. I think the time slot (day) worked against it.

I really enjoy The Forgotten. I am hoping it will be back on the air soon. I will be watching. Sometimes I work at night, but I always taped the shows to watch later. I know some people didn’t enjoy it, they don’t have to spoil the fun for the rest of us. :)

The Forgotten is real life. It’s well written and very entertaining. Just when people start to watch primetime dramas again, a wonderful show such as The Forgotten gets the boot. We don’t want any more pointless reality shows or dead-end comedies. Please bring The Forgotten back.

I do not believe they should cancel ‘The Forgotten” it is a television series based on what happens in cases where people are found deceased without any identification on them to be identified. I believe Christian Slater and the whole crew do a excellent job of reinacting what it would have been like for that person before their death and how it effects the family they have left behind and the relief of the family knowing what happen to their loved one.

So thank you for this message
Well it seems that the Forgotten has not been forgotten….
Thansk I really hope that they bring it back for next season…not just a
extra episodes.
It seems to have a good following because of the appealling good characters
and writers. I would rate this program a 5 stars excellent.
I am very happy that it will be coming back.
Slatter is great in this show.
Thanks again
Diane

It seems as if the shows that are written well and deal with honorable, committed people are the ones that get cancelled. Why are we subjected to Dancing with the Stars,( a loose definition of the word stars is used to pick the contestants, or Idol (if we were given a dollar for every time that Randy has said “dawg” over the past seasons we would be able to meet the Idol gives back goal of donations, and don’t get me started on the reality shows as Shannon mentioned.

The forgotten is one one of the best shows you have on right now. I would like to see it come back for a second season. Maybe in a different time slot would help the ratings. Just remember MASH started out on a Saturday night and was almost cancelled until moved. Thank you, Terry McRoberts

This show should not be canceled!!! Shows on tv nowadays are mostly crap; reality tv has taken over and no offense to people who like that junk but it sucks and should be removed from the air. However The Forgotten is a unique and brilliant show that has a wonderful plot and has a very dynamic cast. DO NOT CANCEL THE FORGOTTEN!!!!!!!!!!
