The Good Guys: FOX Series Trying to Attract More Female Viewers

The Good GuysIn May, FOX debuted their new action-comedy, The Good Guys. The cop show stars Bradley Whitford, Colin Hanks, Diana-Maria Riva, and Jenny Wade.

The network had so much faith in the show that they ordered seven additional episodes before the series even premiered and also gave it a slot on the fall schedule. Unfortunately, the TV show hasn’t caught on and looks to have a real uphill battle if The Good Guys is going to survive long enough to be renewed for season two.

FOX recently decided to pull the show from the summer schedule a little early but is still slated to air on Friday nights this fall.

As a result of the show’s rating challenges, The Good Guys is undergoing some adjustments. According to Deadline, FOX wants to focus on attracting more young female viewers.

To do that, there will be more emphasis placed on the romantic relationships and a young female CSI specialist could become a regular character. In addition, Julius (RonReaco Lee), the bumbling criminal, will appear in more episodes.

There are 11 original episodes left and they’ll start airing on Friday, September 24th.

What do you think? Will The Good Guys last long enough to see a second season or is it headed for cancellation?

My husband & I are in our mid 50′s & love it! The two leading men are awesome! My vote is definitely keep it!!! Has there been enough promotion or is America losing their sense of humor?

Please save the show. Both my husband and I love the show. It has a great humor without being slapstick. I agree with you on maybe putting “some” emphasis on the romantic side will add some some additional interest, but don’t make too many changes because it is already an enjoyable watch….thanks.

Well beyond the hum drum detective stories. This show is a winner. Just give it a little more time.

I can’t wait for the return of this comedy. The expressions of the entire cast are priceless and always good for a laugh. Lose the smutty talk though; no vulgarity please.

I love the show… Bradley Whitford is brilliant… I hope the change of night will attract more viewers….I also watch the Closer. I hope they don’t monkey around to0 much with the premise because I like it just the way it is…

My wife and I really enjoy The Good Guys. We also greatly enjoy The Closer. Consequently, The Good Guys got recorded and watched another evening, but we didn’t miss an episode. Keep it on the air. It should do better on Fridays.

I think Good Guys is the best new semi serious cop show on TV. I watch it every week. Please bring this refreshingly funny show back and get rid of some dumb reality show! Enougth is enough!

This is such a great show! What? You don’t think women watch this? Are you kidding? Colin Hanks is darling…you could spruce up Brad a little. You make him just a little too icky. And that’s putting it in my southern charm nicest language.
Please…………………………… bring it back.

my husband like the series Good Guys but your bigest mistake was putting it opposite The Closer. Most women will watch the Closer. In fact I did and taped the Good Guys. I would really like to see it return. It has a serious plot with realistic humor. Please give it a good spot. I dont’t watch much on fox, sorry, but this is something my husband will watch together and there is so few we both enjoy together.
