The Inbetweeners: Should the MTV Series be Renewed for Season Two?

Inbetweeners season two?On Monday, MTV aired the first season finale of The Inbetweeners. The show hasn’t been cancelled or renewed for a second season yet? What should they do?

Based on a UK TV series of the same name, The Inbetweeners follows the lives of four misfit teenage boys as they try to navigate and survive in high school. They show stars Alex Frnka, Bubba Lewis, Joey Pollari, Mark L. Young, and Zack Pearlman.

The series debuted back on August 20th to 910,000 viewers with a 0.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Viewership dropped nearly 29% by the second episode, to 650,000 viewers with a 0.3 rating. Through the course of the season, The Inbetweeners’ ratings fluctuated a bit — falling as low as 521,000 — but essentially stayed at the same level as episode two.

The season ended up averaging a 620,000 viewers and a 0.3 demo rating.

Because MTV has so few scripted series, it’s difficult to say what they consider a success. Teen Wolf does significantly better and last season averaged 1.69 million viewers and a 0.7 demo rating. On the other side, their new Underemployed dramedy was doing about the same as Inbetweeners but fell to 401,000 viewers last week.

It seems like MTV could go either way when it comes to deciding Inbetweeners’ future.

But what do you think? Should they renew the series for a second season or should they cancel it and try something else?

I like what they have done with Neil but this show is not good. It is below average at best and in comparison to the original it pales. If they dis not want comparisons to the original they should have not used so many plots and devices from the original.

Definitely renew for another season. The US version is hilarious, as was the UK version. Everyone I know that has seen the US version thinks it’s funny. The only harsh criticism I’ve heard is from British fans.

I think that the show had a great first season. I think a few episodes honestly didn’t make sense, but I really think that it deserves a second season. Come on Neil was GREAT!!!!

This NEEDS to be RENEWED!!!! It’s already one of my favorites. if it gets a 2nd chance with a new season i think the viewings will go up especially if the 1st season is put on netflix before the start of the 2nd. And MTV must remember alot of the viewers are most likely between the ages of 13-21 (even thogh my 40 year old black dad likes it too), so for the sake of the younger viewers it should air earlier than 10:30 and i believe the show will grow into much more. Also, once Teen Wolf and Awkward start back up The Inbetweeners should be adversised more since those are very succesful shows and The Inbetweeners has more than enough potential to be relativly or just as popular. RENEW!!!!

I honestly hope the decision of a second season is depended on the US fans and not the UK.

Come back at me, I don’t care….bc I’m sure a bunch of the UK fans (who are pissed) will say they should cancel the show.
US fans we need YOUR voices to be heard!!
k thanks

Has some funny bits when they aren’t copying the British versions story lines. The main problem with this show is that the acting is horrible. I do think it needs to be cancelled however.
