The season finale of AMC’s freshman show The Killing airs this Sunday but fans can rest easy. The AMC TV series has been renewed for a second season.
The Killing debuted to a 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.72 million viewers. The ratings fell significantly over the course of the season and hit a low at the end of May, registering a 0.4 rating in the demo with 1.971 million viewers.
The series is reportedly the second-highest rated show on the channel (behind The Walking Dead) so, to no surprise, AMC has decided to give The Killing a second season of 13 episodes. There’s no word on when production will begin or when viewers can expect to see season two. The current season began in early April.
The series features the talents of Mireille Enos, Billy Campbell, Brent Sexton, Eric Ladin, Jamie Anne Allman, Joel Kinnaman, Kristin Lehman, and Michelle Forbes.
What do you think? Are you glad to hear that The Killing will be back for a second season or should it have been cancelled? Why do you think more people don’t watch?

I do not even know how I ended up here, but I thought this post was good.
I do not know who you are but definitely
you are going to a famous blogger if you are not already ;
) Cheers!
This show was great. It kept me wondering from week to week. the acting was great
Love the show. One of the best next to breaking bad. Amc has the best series hands down. So bring it back already..
Love the show. You can tell this not a fly-by-night kind of series. Please keep it going my wife and I both agree that this is a much higher end made series. The only thing I find hard to deal with is that it’s at 10:00pm, when we have to be at work early in the morning. Maybe that’s why ratings have dropped? Other than that KEEP IT UP!!!
One of televisions best! The writing and production values are superb and the acting is informed, fiercely intelligent and often both disturbing and moving. Shocking and unnerving finale to season one!
was absolutely blown away by the ending…..just want more closure as to who was in the car with the detective….was it all just a ruse to oust Billy Campbell as the congressman…..want more, more, more!!!!!!!!
Absolutely LOVE this show! Glad to hear it will be back for more. As to why more people don’t like it(and some of them posted comments here) it’s not a nice neat little show that starts with a crime and winds up at the end of an hour with the “bad guy” in jail. Most people are too used to a whole story in an hour and don’t have the patience to watch one slowly unfold week after week. Life isn’t like that, and finally there is a police show that is the same way.
