A couple years ago, FOX cancelled a Monday night TV show with low ratings, Lone Star, after two episodes. Will The Mob Doctor see history repeat itself? Will this new TV series be cancelled after tonight’s episode?
The Mob Doctor stars Jordana Spiro as a talented young doctor who moonlights as a physician for Chicago mobsters while watching out for her family and working at a hospital. Others in the cast include Floriana Lima, Zach Gilford, Željko Ivanek, Wendy Makkena, Jesse Lee Soffer, William Forsythe, and James Carpinello.
The drama premiered to a disappointing 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.11 million total viewers. It received lots of negative reviews, lost a significant percentage of its Bones lead-in, only tied for third place in its timeslot, and hasn’t even faced the very popular programming on ABC and CBS yet.
Based on last week’s ratings and tonight’s full schedule, it’s reasonable to expect that Mob Doctor is going to take a big beating in the ratings. FOX could cancel and pull the show — as they did with Lone Star — or, they could move it around the schedule instead.

One option would be to send it packing to Friday nights. X Factor reruns are airing there right now and Touch is scheduled to debut on Fridays on October 26th. The network could switch the two dramas and return Kiefer Sutherland to his old 24 timeslot. FOX also has Kitchen Nightmares and several other shows waiting in the wings.
Ultimately, Mob Doctor’s immediate fate will depend on how low the ratings sink and how much faith the network has in the series. Either way, it already looks certain that, unless the ratings start to climb, Mob Doctor won’t be getting an additional episode order or a second season renewal.

Really like the show. Please do not cancel. Maybe the time or day needs to be changed.
My family is hooked on this show already. We look forward to it every week.
This show is so good…the powers that be need to give it a chance to find its niche in the line-up. Everyone I’ve spoken to absolutely loved the show!
Keep the mob doctor, this is an amazing show, i mean they cant cancle it this far in so many questions left open!

In my option they shall do this they shall hold off the reminder of they episode & give mob doctors another chance in they spring they shall try to place it with American idol on Thursday at 9 pm & shift they other two shows like touch & glee to another nite & day for glee they can shift it to Fridays neither at 8nor9pm following fringe at 8/9central. & for touch it goes on Monday’s at 8 following bones at 9 pm just don”t put mob doctors in the trash just quiet it has to fine an audience. It”s a great show that needs just a bit of time to grow take my option & u will see how it will work on Thursday’s following idol just try it…..
this show stinks. Take it off. so many other shows that are way interesting to watch.
Gave up on this show partway into the first episode. Too ridiculous a premise. Might as well pull the plug on this show now.

It’s definitely going to be tough for this show to bounce back. There are just so many new shows premiering that it’s tough to catch them all!
It’s got such a great cast (Zeljko!) and a lot of potential. I hope they move it and give it a chance to gain an audience. It’s a good show.
