The Neighbors: Season Two Ratings

The Neighbors TV show on ABC ratingsWhile The Neighbors didn’t attract a large audience in its first season, ABC decided to renew it and move the show to Friday nights. Will viewers make the move as well. Will the ratings be good enough to ensure a third season or will the series be cancelled instead? We shall see.

A family sitcom, The Neighbors follows the Weaver clan as they try to live in a beautiful gated community that’s filled with alien visitors from the planet Zabvron. The ensemble castmembers are Jami Gertz, Lenny Venito, Simon Templeman, Toks Olagundoye, Tim Jo, Clara Mamet, Ian Patrick, Isabella Cramp, and Max Charles.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

Last year comparison: The first season of The Neighbors averaged a 1.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.19 million total viewers.

Note: These are the final national numbers (unless noted with an “*”). These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

What do you think? Do you still like The Neighbors TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a third season?

Love this show! Unfortunately, it is too intelligent for TV. They will find some reality show with which to replace it.

That’s a good point. Witty shows always get cancelled cause not enough people understand the humor. Instead, they make a show about sexy men and women getting it on, with absolutely no storyline just some big breasts and some explosions in the background. Ugh, we need more smart people to watch the right tv. shows.

I like the show, I think they should support the show more, give it a bigger budget, perhaps encourage the writers to dream up more alien things.. the writing and theme seems to have become a little timid, like a ball team that is playing not to lose instead of playing to win! Something unexpected needs to happen. It doesn’t need to be be overly dramatic, serious or out of character. (They haven’t clapped their hands over their heads in a long time!) They make reference to being alien and their home planet, etc., but that’s all. Perhaps they need some more interesting guests, characters from their home planet to make visits, that would be a good way to try out some new characters and open up more plot possibilities. Anything is possible, I wish the writers could use their imagination more. Some of the viewers that initially liked the alien, scifi aspects are probably peeling off. This year it’s gotten into a little bit of a predictable rut, but I still keep tuning it in because I like the characters, but I’m afraid that will not be enough to gain more viewers. I hate that the show is struggling with ratings because it’s not living up to it’s potential.

We love the Neighbors and are outside of the 18-49 age group. The networks need to get that we have and spend more disposable income than the younger group and we watch more television. This is a wonderful, quirky show. Oh, and we are the same people who watched Star Trek and kept that franchise alive, not to mention Star Wars, Back to the Future, Law and Order, MASH and countless other great television.

Please keep the neighbors on TV. Like a previous viewer said, it is a clean quirky show and the characters really grow on you. To move it to Friday nights of course it would get fewer viewers than it did before. Anything would. Last Man Standing and the Neighbors make for a funny Friday night for me and my husband.

Oh don’t cancel The Neighbors, like above comments, it is a cute clean quirky show; one of the few sitcoms on TV worth watching! Give it a chance :)

MY FAMILY LOVES THIS SHOW AND WE HAVE SINCE THE FIRST EPISODE. ITS SILLY AND FUN AND ITS A SHOW KIDS CAN WATCH AND LAUGH THEIR HEADS OFF. WHY ABC IS ALWAYS READY TO CANCEL EVERYTHING GOOD AND KEEP ALL THE CRAP I WILL NEVER KNOW. FRIDAY NITE IS A DEATH SENTENCE. MOVE THE DANG SHOW BACK TO WHERE IT WAS AND LET IT FIND ITS AUDIENCE. ABC STILL CANT LEARN FROM MY SO CALLED LIFE. I ALWAYS HATE GETTING INVOLVED IN AN ABC SHOW BECAUSE IF ITS WORTH A FLIP THEY WILL CANCEL IT FOR SURE.

Why is it that Hollywood always gets it wrong. They consistently cancel the best shows on TV! It never fails. Way to go Hollyweird!

Since this show is now airing on Friday nights, I think it’s gonna be cancelled, since people Watch less TV than other weeknights!

I like it, I’m not sure moving it to Fridays helped, numbers don’t seem to indicate that it has.

Expectations for shows are lower on Fridays. I believe the reasoning is that if a show has devoted following and most tune in on Friday nights, the show will be fine. Unfortunately it seems a lot of people have forgotten about the show. The ratings have fallen too low.

Love, love, LOVE “The Neighbors.” I don’t mind it on Fridays for myself, but am afraid it will hurt the ratings. Love the characters–all of them–especially the Bird-Kersees. :)

My wife and I love this show! Please give it a chance! Moving it to Friday will definitely not help with ratings. What marketing genius had that idea?
