If you end a show in it’s prime, it will be remembered as a great story with a great ending. If you take the Law & Order approach and drag things on and spin off other ideas, well, then you’ve got a TV show that people can recognize the name for, but there’s no major fans. If they are ending the Shield, just end it right.

It’s sad to see such a fine show come to an end when there are so many loyal viewers out there. I guess I should be thankful for the show even being produced in the first place and all the hard work that brought this fine show together. So, thanks for the awesome characters and the crazy sometimes sick script. If you guys decide to make more seasons you can count on me and many others to tune in and gasp, yell, and cringe at every episode.

the first time i watched this show, i was surrounded be inmates. it was the begining of my love twards the shield. scince then my wife and i watched every episode together (after released) we hope their will be more to come, but it does not look to well in the long term!

I am a Fan from Europe/Germany.

I am a hugh fan of the series. This is the best series ever to be on TV.

Though only Seasons 1-3 aired in german pay-Tv, i have watched all Seasons from Season 2-6 in the original and only the first one in german language.

NOTE THAT EVERYBODY I HAVE SHOWN THE SHIELD (of all ages) GOT ADDICTED TO THE SHIELD.

So the Shield has to continue, wether as TV Show or as Kind of Cinema oder maybe better as TV-Movies about 2-3 Hours long.

There are other good series like nip/tuck oder Prison Break, but the Shield beats them all a lot.

The shield is the best cop show ever produced hands down. Being a cop myself I can also admit to how realistic it actually is. Not so much the strike team shenanigans but the overall feel of the show. However, there is no way the strike team can continue to keep getting away with all of the madness they have and the show stay realistic. I understand we all watch television as a means of escape from our mundane lives but……how long did you think Vic could Rob Peter to pay Paul? It has to end. I would like to see a spin off with Dutch as lead detective on a series.

this show is the BEST, I love watching. I watch it everytime it comes on. I used to have DISH and got rid of it but I had to wait until The Shield season was over so I could get Cable to replace it so I wouldn’t miss NIP/TUCK, my next fav.

I’ve read from a source that there are a multitude of reasons for The Shield’s unfortunate demise. The one that seems to hold the most truth is that Shawn Ryan (The Producer) has a huge workload handling both “The Shield” and “The Unit” and that combined with the passing of the late Scott Brazil is making it so that he is always busy and that one of the two shows would have to go.

Chiklis announced on Leno last night that he has begun filming the LAST season of The Shield. I was devasted when he said it. I had to rewind it to make sure I heard it correctly.

There has never been, and never will be, a show this good. There’s so much garbage that goes on and on forever and then this show is wrapping up after 7 seasons. It’s just wrong.

Please FX, keep this show going. How’s this for a compromise: Keep it on for one year less than we had to deal with Sipowitz!

Does anyone not read? FX didnt cancel it, the creator requested to end it. He wants to end it with dignity. I say more power to him…I love the show, and I would hate to see it get monotonous. I will be very bored now that it wil be gone soon. I hope there is another show like it at that time to keep me interested.

This show should have been on a big network. FX always seemed to have doubts about doing another season and then they come up with seasons of 10 or so episodes and wanting to cancel it after seven short seasons. This would have never happened on a big network.

Every time this show came on Channel 5 I switched off – I just didn’t like the look of it – then out of curiosity I decided to rent the first season – I watched the first episode thinking “it’s ok” then Vic shot Terry and I was HOOKED!! I had to buy all seasons on DVD and couldn’t wait to watch them – this show is the best show on TV (except Supernatural) – most other TV shows do get abit boring after a while and only the true fans stay with them but this show just keeps getting better and better and you love all the characters even though they make you want to hate them sometimes – cannot believe Lemansky is dead – fabulous move but really gonna miss that character – I want the show to end on a high obviously but at the moment it’s still so strong I just don’t want it to end after just 2 more series – can’t they at least make it to 10??? It’snot like we’ve been spolied with 24 episodes per season is it??!! Come on guys – change your minds – please!!

It’s been way to long since the Sheild has aired. Now I find out it’s going to be over in the next year or so. The greatest police/detective drama show of all time bar none. To be a fan is heartbreaking at least. Great when the show is on, but it makes you wonder why you are loyal to a television channel when they take away the essance of the television show you are preparing to watch each and ever weeek. The sacrifices I have made for this great show and network now seem to be in vein. Leading you to believe it would last forever. When THE SHEILD ends, it be be the worst day in TV. history for me. That’s saying alot. We need, no I need 100 more episodes. I guess Nip Tuck will be next. DIRT sucks. Goodbye and fairwell FX. A member of the audience. A disappointed fan.

IMO better finish a TV show after great 7 seasons, rather than make 20 crappy seasons. It is a fact that TV shows get silly and quite idiotiq when they make too many episodes, like MacGyver that was a good show for a few years (atleast in my opinion) but after that it got strange.

From a U.K. fan. The best TV Drama ever. Equal in quality, characters, acting etc to the God Father. Usually it is the actors who walk away to start afresh somewhere else, maybe cash in on their reputation? Lets hope something can save it beyond season 6 or 7 which will be shorter seasons anyway.
