I hope some other network picks up this show. It was so well cast with interesting characters and great humour. It showed us that maybe we didn’t have to envy many of the hollywood rich and infamous. It was well written and acted and it would have picked up a great following in time. I saw the miniseries on video having no idea it even existed. I loved it, my daughter loved it, and even my husband got hooked.
Please bring it back!!!!!

I had this setup to record on my DVR and just knew I had the thing screwed up somehow, because I have not seen any new episodes of the Starter Wife. I really feel cheated and I am going to miss Ms. Messing, she played this character perferctly. And, you replace it with NCIS? How could you??? I used to look forward to Fridays with Monk and the Starter Wife. Now, I look forward to renting movies!!!!

i loved this show!!! after seeing Debra Messing in “The Wedding Date” – i totally fell in love with her!! she is awesome, and this show brought out a side of her that most actresses wish they could reach. I can’t believe they cancelled it. I’m sorry, and i don’t mean to offend anyone, but USA honestly decided to keep Burn Notice over The Starter Wife… that is choosing corny over one of the best shows that women can relate to. they seriously need to re-evaluate their shows, and if you look at every comment on here, as well as other sites, so many people agree that this show was truly one to keep going for several seasons!!!!!

I was just discussing this show with a co-worker and we were so pumped about it because we actually thought a new season began this summer. What a total bummer to find out after almost a year that it has been cancelled. SHAME ON YOU USA! The Starter Wife was an amazing show. I heart Debra Messing. My co-worker is going to be heart broken when I tell her the news. The network seriously needs to reconsider bringing back the show. I followed it religiously an even went out and bought the book!

I can’t believe this show has been cancelled! It was a great show and I was a loyal viewer. I am sick and tired of watching reality shows, this was a nice switch. Please reconsider, by looking at your poll…. 92% of us want it back on!! This was just a enjoyment to watch, and the cast was fantastic and had great chemistry! Who makes these decisions anyhow?!?! FYI…there are no other shows on USA Network that I watch, I’ve switched to the Halmark channel for all my romance/comedy needs.

I want to know how the heck they make these decisions?!?!? They leave things like Weeds on which is OK but I have seen enough stoned people in the real world & then they cancel a very entertaining show that could be watched by many ages & leave so many of the dumber shows on. Why didn’t they just try a re-launch after the writer strike? Would that have been hard? Um, NO. First I lost “What about Brian” & now this. The upper management & suits in these companies are dumb as a box of rocks & seem to have little or not initiative to work with anything. I’d hate to be their kids – 1 strike & you are OUT.

I’m just learning of USA Network to cancellation of the “The Starter Wife”. You’ve cancelled “MONK” now this. I guess it’s time I find another cable network to make as my regular TV viewing channel.
I agree with a previous poster, you put a lot crap on TV that’s bad for children and when there are decet shows like “MONK & The Starter Wife” you cancel them.
While I like “Burn Notice” it’s not holding my attention like the others did. Please reconsider and bring them back; if not MONK, at least bring back Starter Wife. Debra Messing is a great and beloved actress.
I suggest you think about what you’re doing, soon USA Network will be cancel as cable network due to poor quality shows.
Right now TNT have me hooked on Monday nights with the “The Closer”.

I will VERY disappointed if this show is not brought back. My lord you take this show off the air and leave some of that other trash you air out there. What can I say, so many qualtity shows are lost to reality shows and sexual explicit shows, that are so unhealthy for our children and nation as a whole, but, again, it takes money to pay the actors and without sponsorship they would not be happy either. I reget that the show has been cancelled, hopefully, White Collar, which is another great show, and Royals Pains, and Burn notice will make the cut, but, I have to say, USA, worked on your line up over the last year or so, my DVR is always set to USA. You are moving in the right direction, maybe Ms. Messings ( I love her) can move to one of those shows, she’s a great actress. Would love to see her in another show.

91% (according to the poll on this website tvseriesfinale.com) indicated The Starter Wife should NOT HAVE BEEN canceled. This was the only program beside Monk that I looked forward to in 2008. It made women over 39 feel good about themselves AND SEXY.

What are the USA “powers that be” thinking???!!! I’ve been waiting impatiently for one of my favorite shows to come back. The Starter Wife was a “can’t miss” show for me. I adored all of the characters and am extremely disappointed. Debra Messing was wonderful in this. What? Too different? Too off the beaten path? Why can’t a show that breaks from the formulaic pack be given a reasonable amount of time to prove itself? I am so sad. I knew “Starter Wife” was suppose to be airing soon, usaully around fall time. And I googled “Starter Wife” to find out it has been cancelled. Why? The show was great and wonderful and it let all of us hanging at the end. I was so happy when I finally found a good show that mad me laugh, I would spend my Friday evenings watching “Starter Wife.” Now, I have nothing to look forward to on Friday’s.

WHAT! My friend, my sister, and I LOVED this show. This was a great show and my husband would watch it too. Debra was great as was her friends (cast). Maybe laugh out loud! I was pleased USA wasn’t showing the other repetive medical, CSI (fill in the blank city), cop, shows that all the other networks keep trying to perfect. Plus, where is the other USA show with the girl who met the shrink who sent her back in time to fix her past. Don’t tell me, cancelled! UGH!

Very disappointed. USA has had a lot of great new shows and this was my favorite. Wish there was something we could do to get them to bring it back. With all of the larger networks focusing on the younger viewers it was nice having something for viewers over 22.

my friends and I work in a caner center. we watched this show every week, we came back to work and would laugh at the escipades of the people on the series and found great relief to laugh at others lives, because we deal with death and dying every day of our lives. it was a great comedic relief for us to be able to escapee the reality of ourlives you should re-think your decision to cancel.

I was devastated to find out this show had been cancelled. I love all of the characters especially Molly. She exemplifies what it means to be a survivor and a strong independent woman. I have all the episodes on my iPod and watch it every few months. Please reconsider! We all need some decent entertainment.

Too bad this show has been cancelled. Gives separated / divorced woman inspiration and hope during their difficult transition and sheds light into what might feel as a despairing future. I have told many of my girlfriends who are going through a divorce to watch the starter wife and they have all loved it. Funny too!

The Starter Wife, without a doubt, is among the best I have ever seen on television. I didn’t think Debra Messing could outlive her Grace persona, but this show certainly left it in the veritable dust! If USA loved it as a mini-series, why not resurrect it as such? I hate that this show is off the air.

With all the same crap on TV you cancel one that doesn’t insult our intelligence.I like The Closer and Entourage. Every other show is a rip off of another. Give the viewers some points for liking Mad Men and Leverage and ring back lovely Debra in The Starter Wife.

I agree that the writers’ strike cost this show a huge amount of its momentum. I hope USA, or one of the other networks, will consider renewing this smart, entertaining series. I was another one waiting for the next season and really disappointed to hear of the cancellation. I’m so sick of the “reality” shows that seem to take up the airwaves. I work, have a life and love to plunk down and watch a show that isn’t about how many bugs someone can stuff in their mouth without vomiting, or watch some clueless contestant sing a rendition of one of my favorite songs that makes my ears bleed. It was great to see Debra Messing in a role so completely different from “Grace.” The only addition I would have loved to see if the addition of Christine Baranski…she would have fit into the cast perfectly! Boo and Hiss to USA for this cancellation!

I hate to hear the show has been cancelled. I’ve been looking forward to how Joan’s got out of her troubles with the law and who was Molly’s next love. It’s really sad we didn’t get to see the turn out. The finale really left us all hanging. Debra Messing is beautiful and I looked forward to seeing her outfits and how she did her hair. Joan was also such a mess it was fun to see what she got into next.
