The CW is starting over on Monday nights. They’ve cancelled both Star-Crossed and The Tomorrow People after one season apiece.
On The Tomorrow People, a teenager (Robbie Amell) discovers that he has paranormal abilities. He also learns that others like him have gone into hiding because they’re being hunted by a paramilitary group of scientists known as Ultra. The rest of the cast includes Luke Mitchell, Peyton List, Aaron Yoo, Mark Pellegrino, and Madeleine Mantock.
The drama debuted back in October and aired on Wednesday nights, paired with the network’s popular Arrow series. It performed well in the beginning but the ratings fell over the course of the season, dropping as low as a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.24 million viewers.
The series moved to Monday nights and lost even more viewers. In last April, The Tomorrow People hit a series low, drawing just 760,000 viewers.
The season (now series) finale, which aired this week, left plenty of story opportunities for a second season but it won’t be happening.
What do you think? Are you sorry that there won’t be a second season of The Tomorrow People? Do you think it should have been cancelled?
Loved this show and its potential. Solid cast and really good story lines hate that CW gave up on it so quickly especially given a lot of the garbage that gets multiple seasons. Not happy
ok so as you can see there are so many people out there that are always looking for a great adventure in the shows that they watch and this one had everything I just cant believe that there wasn’t enough viewers to keep this show going just like witches of east wick I wish they would stop getting our hopes up on a show like this one and then breaking it because then I think and I know a lot of people would agree that it wont be the shows that we stop watching but we will know which stations… Read more »
The demise of this show was about scheduling not content.Excellent story lines, good character development, intrigue , mostly good acting. A show begins develop currency around the world and you can it. Decision making in CW should be reviewed as clearly there is some thing else driving the demise of this show, eg someone else’s pet project?
A really excellent show but really poor marketing.
this show is awesome. it’s like Heros meets Alias. not sure if just not enough people were watching it, but it certainly has the fan base it needs to make it a successful series. in short, BRING IT BACK.
Why do they leave series finales with the next season in mind, end the story properly or have the balls to go on to the next season. They do not have the courage of their own convictions. I’m sure this series would have had a cult following.
This was literally one of the best shows on TV. PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!!!
why do start a show and not finish it? we loved it
just find a way and start season 2
Bring the **** back !
LOVED This show…Bring it back!!!!!
Bring it back please, I love the show
This is UNFAIR ! .. we want to
NO!NO!NO! how can you cancel the best show that I have watched in ages, this tv show was fantastic. PLEASE! don’t cancel. This show was sooooooo good it is indescribable. I’m so upset to see it go, this show kept my eyes glues to the tv and not to move from the spot i was in. The intensity The Tomorrow People gave to the audience was extravagant and it was left on a clif hanger soo0 sad to see it go.
Bring back the tomorrow people!!!! Leaving us on the edge of our seats like that and cancelling it was a bad move. The storyline for a second season would have held a lot of promise. It took awhile for several big hit shows to actually become, big hits; like the vampire diaries, it became extremely big in its third season. Castle was only aired on Australian TV screens when it hit its second season. It takes time to nurture anything to become something big.
Can’t believe The Tomorrow People got cancelled 🙁 We so enjoyed the show and were looking forward to a season 2.
Please bring back the tomorrow people !!
