Please showtime, or any other network, PLEASE! Someone create a kind of spin-off series with the queens mary and liz. It would be wonderful! I am (I can’t be the only one!) sick of all the reality show garbage, and purchased showtime only for the Tudors. And I just watched the finale again on DVD. I am sad to see it end. I know to be true to history, it had to end for Henry, but there has to be someone at a network with the courage to create some more wonderful period pieces. Not all of us out there are idiots who only like to watch morons on tv eat nasty foods,or do stupid stunts or worst of all, any more ‘talent’ shows on prime time tv!I so desire for there to be an uprising against so much mindless nonsense on tv! What a wonderfully entertaining show could be ‘bloody mary tudor’ I will miss watching Henry especially being played by the gorgeous JRM.He was BORN to play Henry, and he wasn’t bad as Elvis either.

I’ve watched all four season and am sad to see it end. The acting, sets and costumes are unbelievable. The cast is amazing. Michael Hirst is a very talented writer and he was a new show called “The Borgias” premering on Showtime in 2011. Can’t wait to see the new show.

Amazing that they would end it here. This is a great part of history and I would love for it to keep going right through to the end of Elizabeth’s reign. Alas, that is not going to happen. I guess I will have to watch the bachlorette. On second thought, why would I watch garbadge like that. I will just read another Bernard Cornwell book instead. Damn shame that they are going to end great television.

Sandy is right. King Henry’s young son succeeds him and then dies after a short period. Then Mary becomes Queen and is called “Bloody Mary” due to the death she causes to attempt to reinstate the Catholic church. Then Elizabeth who reigns for a very long time.

The Tudors prompted me to travel to the UK last year, visiting Hampton Court. The producers could do an eight show season five with James and Mary. The final season would be with Elizabeth. I have kept Showtime solely for the Tudors. When it ends, I too shall cancel my subscription.

Like the other poster said, this is the “Tudors” not
Henry VIII.
I not only enjoy this series but I have learned a great
deal of history wilst watching.
I was introduced to this series 2 weeks ago and
have watched EVERY episode ( season 1-4) within
that time.
Please rethink your decision to abort this wonderous
adventure. Many of those who watch long for history
to be told not in books but with the imagery you
produce.

Oh please do not cancel the show. Can you not keep the story going on a smaller budget? Although the costumes, scenery, etc certainly add to the authenticity of this period piece, it is the phenominal acting and storyline that has everyone hooked.

I have truly enjoyed the Tudors from the very beginning, up to now. A friend and I would discuss each episode in detail,it was almost like a club (lol). I love the clothes, hair and makeup. It was my all time favorite show to watch and one of the reason why I keep Showtime as my movie channel only!

I am very disappointed in reading the Tudors will not be continuing, I understand how the economy effects on the show. The Tudors is a fantastic and addictive show, I keep asking my husband when the new season is going to start, which is why I have kept Showtime. After the Tudors is over I too will be cancelling Showtime to cut my expenses. Jonathan Rhys Meyers is an stounding actor and in my opinion as a great of actor as Sean Connery and versatility as Johnny Depp. Wish it would be continued. The creator and director should feel proud of producing a great series which sparked my interest into history again, Thank you!

Wow..I am so sad that The Tudors will end after season 4. Great show and the only reason why I got ShowTime, I will be canceling showtime as soon as the 4th season is over. I would love the producers to please think about it. Your show is great and King Henry’s story is one to be told. His daughters, his kingdom, the catholic church, his life. We need The Tudors to continue, so much to write about. Jonathan is awesome. Love him dearly, he is a great actor.

When is the 3rd. season of The Tudors showing in Mexico? I saw the first two seasons and, in my opinion, The Tudors is one of the best shows, and one of the closest to real history I have ever seen. The production is perfect. Besides, there are four more wives to deal with and the crownings of Henry’s two daughters are also of the utmost historical importance even for the modern world, because since the breakage with the catholic church, the world was never the same again. As you can see, real history still gives the film-makers lots of materials to work with. Please inform when the 3rd season will be shown in Mexico.

The Tudors sage has been the most absorbing show presented by Showtime. I do really hope that the producers will bring the historical events until the very end. All actors and actrecess have been outstanding, beautiful customs, well everything has been just perfect!!!

The Tudors is one of the best historical sagas ever to be presented. The Directing of each series is outstanding; the acting is outstanding. With several “wives” to go, it would be a shame to not continue with such a series.

I am cancelling Showtime until the Series continue.

I am so glad that I am not the only one who has planned their life around the
Sunday night Tudor show. Absolutely amazing. It has breathed a real life into the
Reformation. Now I look at English history and religion with a more intelligent
eye and ear. Eventhough I went to England many moons ago I would like to retrace
the steps of the Tudors.

This series is the best I’ve been privileged to watch; its not boring nor is it hard to follow; what is even more remarkable tis hat this series also has my children interested. From an educational point of view, its fantastic – the first time my children have enjoyed ‘a history lesson’ without realising they have learnt about history … how remarkable is that? In my opinion, whatever it takes, don’t stop filming! I will miss it but more importantly my children will too!

I knew that the end was in sight for The Tudors, but I was hoping that Showtime would realize what may well be the finest series ever produced for television and reconsider before sending it to the gallows. I have enjoyed the history, the characters, the historical sets and visual background images, the attention to details to make it believable and realistic has truly been a work of art. I will miss it terribly, but it is time to put it to bed along side ROME and DEADWOOD. Maybe we could get a series around Teddy Roosevelt or Ernest Heminway…just a thought.

There is so much history even after Henry VIII. This series could have and should have gone on for years. I will sorely miss it and I still haven’t seen Season 1 yet. I wish Showtime would have a couple of weekends for all of the episodes from 1 to 28 to be shown. I have seen season 2 and will watch the finale of season 3 tonght. It sure would be nice if Showtime would reconsider.

The story line of the tudors when Henry VIII died at whitehall palace in January 28, 1547 thats when his 10 year old son, Edward VI was succeeded to the throne with his uncle, Edward seymour who will became Lord Protector of the realm in january 31, 1547 after the burial of Henry VIII three days later Edward VI was crowned king of England in Westminster Abbey this is only the begnning of the 5th season, the tudors this is about his children will begin Edward VI ruled February 20, 1547-July 7, 1553

The Tudors and The Brotherhood (now cancelled) were the only reasons my husband and I signed up for Showtime when we moved. I too had hoped that they would continue the story line with Edward, Mary, and Elizabeth. Here’s hoping Showtime reconsiders their decision.

Please don’t cancel this series!! I was hoping it would continue to explore this fascinating family and time in history. Although it’s certainly not completely historically accurate, I would still love to see it explore the short reign of Henry’s son, Edward, then on to his daughter, Bloody Mary’s, time as queen and then, finally, the reign of Elizabeth I. That alone could keep this show on for years!! The story and characters would continue to evolve and stay interesting. Showtime, please, please, think about keeping this show!

I’m shocked to hear this.
This is the first premium channel series that I actually schedule into my calendar to be home to see on Sunday Nights.
For those of us that are drawn to period pieces this series is great and it’s ashame to have the last bits of history shoved into the last 10 shows in season 4 then to bring it out to season 5. The Tudors will be missed. The cast was brilliant and scenery and costuming fanomable.
