It should have at least went to HBO or Showtime series! I suppose the networks know what show are doing good or bad but I can tell you this… I REALLY liked that show!!!! and I dont even like to watch TV all that much… but I never missed an episode of THE UNIT

I too am a non-active member of the US Army (airborne) infantry. I am going to really miss this show it made me miss my time in the military more than any other show or movie out there. I am sure tbe a where has to a way for us to get our point across to the people at CBS. Fans have done it before with “Family Guy” and others. And two years ago fans did it with CBS when they tried to cancel the show “Jericho” when they tried to cancel it without giving it an actual finale. At the very least we should be able to get a “The Unit” mini-series or two, or some “The Unit” movies. Does anyone know an email address for someone in charge of programing on CBS?

It is a crying shame, watching this show helped make the time of my deployment to OIF a lot easier. There arent any other shows that I can think of which make me more proud to be a soldier because they actually got the story right. I saw a lot of the problems these fictional characters faced in my own life and am truly sad to see this end. there may not have been a lot of people that watched this show, but if a cbs producer was to read this I would like to tell them that the people who did watch this show, my comrades and I, make up for the lack of numbers with our devotion to it.

Can NOT believe they cancelled this show! As military members, my husband & I LOVED this show. Did not begin to follow the show till last year due to deployments, but quickly became our FAVORITE show next to NCIS. Following Cold Case was a good move. One more CSI or reality show hits the channel I will NEVER watch them again. Please, please bring the UNIT back !!

When they cancel shows that make you think and give us crap to veg out it clearly shows that channels such as CBS think that we are stupid. I hate that they cancel shows like the Unit and pick up shows like dance your ass off or big brothe 24. NBC cancelled Life and Southland. Two other great shows replaced by mindless crap such as Im a celebrity get me out of here. Thank God for netflix.

The cancelation of the unit is a great loss for the TV audiance. As with many greats and cult classics such as Star Trek for example these limited four seasons will be in demand for years to come. I am really disapionted in the network. When will they understand that not every one is a sheep, not everyone is wolf some of us are sheep dogs! Our numbers are less but just as meaningful!

I’m looking at the dates of these comments and I think alot of people are in the same boat as me. We’ve been wondering when the show is premiering and then we see this announcement! So CBS will pick up Medium(which has really dropped off in quality btw) and they can’t keep The Unit?! This article is over 5 months old and look at how many people are posting! Are you kidding?!!! I have been waiting months for the Unit to return only to find out that some tunnel vision bureaucrat has cancelled it. With all of the CRAP TV you choose to cancel one of the best shows. I really don’t understand what you people are thinking. This show was entertaining, thrilling, and on the edge. It gave civilians an insight on what may be going on throughout the world. Though it was fiction it made us appreciate the military and their families. I am the wife of a retired Marine Office and knowing some of these folks it gave me a different perspective on what may or may not be going on. BRING IT BACK and cancel all of these stupid reality shows. Please tell me you aren’t going to touch NCIS. I think your scheduling should be run by those of us that actually watch TV and some VP that is looking for a new hopeful “cash cow.”

I have followed the show since the very first episode. I love the action and the behind the scenes drama. This a very well written show. Having a military back ground I can also relate to many of the situations that so often occur on the missions. If the network just has to cancel the show they could atleast do a grand finale to show what happens to the unit and its members so we the viewers get some type of closure. I really think they are making a big mistake in canceling the show.

My wife and I have been watching The Unit for all 4 seasons and its one of our favorite shows. I cannot believe that all of these great actors and writers get the axe over the issue of only having 11.1 million viewers its fourth season. What?? I loved this show because it was so different than anything else on t.v. I wish they would have at least had a series finale instead of leaving like they did. Wherever these companies get their information from might want to cancel them because they are dead wrong about who is and isn’t watching this show.

This really stinks. My husband, father-in-law and I looked forward to the Unit every week. It seems like every show gets canceled thats great. these days. But they add stupid shows to replace the good ones. The Unit was the show that gets you at the edge of your seat the while show. It was one great episode after another, I don’t think there was one episode i didn’t like. Please bring it back. Its fans need closure

My wife and I are in our early 30’s, and a lot of my friends watch it as we do, so the opinion that the show is being cancelled because the majority of viewers are older plain stinks! Plus, viewers is viewers… It doesnt matter how old people are, if they are interested in a show, that counts. At least bring it back for one more season. Like Jonathan, I feel cheated not knowing the end.

This is one of my favorite shows and I was anxiously awaiting its return. I’m in my mid-60’s and loved this show. Doesn’t my viewing opinon count, or all of the TV shows geared to the “texting generation” and “computer generation” who don’t even know what “real” life is ! Its real, its different and shows people what our military can really do! Are these guys being pressured by politics to keep things quiet about what goes on in our country’s defense? Maybe someone hit a sore spot. Well, I’ve lost interest in CBS, PERIOD. I’ll not watch this station unless my wife holds my foot to the fire. You have lost a viewer!!!!!

The death of the Unit is a casualty of the writing and plot gyrations the studio used in the last season. The “rape” and “defection” of the unit’s new team member was so transparent Mr. Magoo could have seen it coming. If you want a drama to have good ratings, get good writers who can concoct a story. In one episode Jonas is sent to retrieve the sword used to pierce Jesus’ side, from a place where it’s hidden in South America. What? He has to do this to save the life of his partner, who is dying from a gunshot wound while revisiting not having stopped a sniper. Jonas has to choose between him and the Monks who guard the sword. Oh Jeez. Who thought this crap up? The lucky cast members were the ones shot before the end of the 3rd season. Not content to chase terrorists and retrieve stolen military secrets, the wives had to get their story told. Perhaps someone didn’t tell the studio that no one gave a crap about the wives; they were a distraction and a badly scripted/badly cast one at that. “Tiffy” was a walking talking advertisement for the repeal of all domestic abuse laws. Colonel Ryan couldn’t decide if he was a chickenshit or a leader. And, for the record, the makeup of the team without an officer in the lead was just a stupid plot contrivance. Hasybert was terrific, as was the woman who played Kim Brown. The rest should be sent back to Central Casting for daytime soap appearances.

Keeping Medium was the wrong choice! The Unit was unique, and one of the best shows going. Great writers and the best actors. Lets just all hope and pray another network like FOX picks it up and soldiers on with more great shows.Going to miss it and in my opinion the only thing on CBS to watch is NCIS.

IT’S A SAD DAY WHEN GOOD TV SHOWS GET CANCELLED A BAD ONES GET TO STAY ON THE AIR. MY HUSBAND AND I STARTED GETTING OUR ENTIRE FAMILY TOGETHER TO WATCH THE SHOW “THE UNIT” …FINALLY A TV SHOW EVERYONE OVER THE AGE OF 10 COULD WATCH!
So, tell US all why the show was cancelled if the budget was lower than any other show and the viewership was high..bubble or not. Who cares if the average viewer was 55. Are you saying that their views don’t count? What about the rest of the viewers within that average? BRING IT BACK!!!!!!!! You can’t let it go like that!!! At least give us all closure with a four night Unit Special or something to close the story. This show was as huge as Dallas to my family and a whole lot of others out there. What is CBS thinking about? This is the worst move I have seen made in a while.They need to get rid of one of those stupid cop shows.What are now like 10 throughout the week.TV is boring anymore with all those shows,this show was the only one i looked forward to.And with me being a soldier and being deployed right now,its good to see a show like this on tv.It does give some sense of what we do and we get things done int he protection of our country.Lets just all hope and pray another network picks it up and soldiers on with more great shows.Going to miss it and in my opinion CBS is not worth watching anymore.

CBS is kidding themselves. Forensic shows are a dime a dozen these days. The Unit was fairly unique and drew an audience that (in my case) is sick to death of the overabundance of Cop investigative dramas (with the possible exception of NCIS).

Why is it that TV producers have this “pile on” mentality. If one cop show does well, everyone and his grandmother starts producing cop shows until the public gets sick to death of them (witness the Law and Order plethora of spin-offs and look-alike rip-offs). A couple of decades back it was horse operas to the exclusion of anything else. If the entertainment industry had anyone with a brain running the studios, there would be an eclectic mix of shows to capture as many major audience demographics as possible.

Now The Unit appealed to the older crowd. C’MON Hollywood and NY, look at your age demographics. The Baby Boomers are IN that demographic. There’s a huge market of old folks running around out there and anyone who caters to them will make money. And money is what feeds the horses that pull your wagons. Think of all the Depends commercials you can run along with resort ads, travel options, restaurant ads, wine commercials, health aids, etc. Any advertiser who caters to this group should be knocking down your doors or crawling through your windows to get an ad slot on any program that appeals to them.

And The Unit is no exception.
