I’m late to this party but I just thought of it after watching a rerun of Wanda’s show tonight. I didn’t think the show would last since it was on Fox and I know how low the average intelligence quotient is for too much of the TV audience. You can’t get too brainy or current or political on late night TV other than a few opening one-liners and a Top Ten List or the masses will become angry! I like Wanda but regular broadcast TV is not her place. She needs to be unfettered and uncensored. I thought her shows were too busy- interesting guests but not much time devoted to any one subject. I liked Porsche as well. I thought the show with Wanda being openly gay, a white drag queen who was almost too stereotypical, and a straight Black man who balances a subtle Liberalism with a hint of the Typical Black Comedian was just too forced and scripted diversity. I hope she can get another talk show on one of the cable networks. I think we need an earthier Bill Mahr who I also respect and like immensely. I agree with Bill’s stance on Religion but Bill wields it like a war club which I think keeps some people from embracing him. I think Wanda could be a powerful voice and host a great show in the right format and for the right network.

Wanda Sykes is TRULY funny but her ultra-socialist left-wing anti-patriotic approach is why I cannot watch her show. In other contexts she has made me laugh until I CRY but her harsh political slant is a turn-off because it alienates hard-working conservative American patriots.

I love this show! It is raw, and funny. Anyone who doesn’t “get it”, so sad! Fox is so fullish, couldn’t even understand why they, of all other networks would carry this unique show- hope another cable network picks it up!

I love wanda’s talent….just wish she was not so ignorant politically. she obviously has no understanding about the subjects she chooses. She needs to stay away from politics as much as she can. I love Sykes but the show is bad. Her timing is off, the drag queen looks extremely uncomfortable and the sidekick is dull. I love Wanda but she thrives doing standup, not this canned stuff. It is hard to watch.

I wanted to like this show so much but the writing just isn’t very good. Also Wanda isn’t a very good talk host. She’s a damn funny comic but like Chevy Chase she’s not a good interviewer. Being a good interviewer is a talent just like being a good comic is and some people just don’t have it.

The show was great! Somebody has to point out the absurdity of Dick Cheney saying that Obama is soft on terrorism. On this show, Wanda declared herself the “tell people where to go and what to kiss czar” for the Obama administration, and we need her on TV, if only to fulfill that role! The woman is funny, cute, and her humor is intelligent, and if people don’t like her it’s probably because she is over their heads! The bit about where to recycle your sex toys, bringing them to different shops and such, was very funny — better than Ashton Kutcher’s ideas for punking people! Her remark about the solar vibrator probably not being too good on cloudy days is an example of stuff that may go over people’s heads. I have solar panels on my house for heating hot water, and I have to admit they’re not too good on cloudy days. I laughed my ass off at that joke!

I think she is hilarious. Her monologues are by far the best part of the show; she’s the only person on TV being that edgy and political. I have to compliment Fox on letting Wanda be Wanda.

She’s funny and we like the show for about half an hour..then find it tedious. Loved Mad TV. What idiot cancelled that show? The writing and ideas were almost always better than SNL, wch hasn’t been very good forever, with the exception of the political commentary and skits during the presidential campaigns last year.

Sykes is only marginally funny on The New Adventures of Old Christine. She is even less than that on her own show. She has a somewhat cutting wit at times, but needs to get over herself and try to generate humor that will appeal to a broader cross section of the viewing public. She is much more tolerable when she is just doing a few minutes on some one else’s program.

It is so bad, she is trying way to hard to be funny and biting. MadTv was so much funnier than this. Her opening monologue is all about the economy and obama and those things our so depressing right now, she needs to be talking about more things, she literaly endorsing obama. Then her visit to the Sex Toy convention was uncomftorable to watch and her round table discussion is not even that great.

She needs to stop talking politics and awkward sex bits and then she might have a show

Her Show Isn’t Bad. But I think it should only be a half hour at 12:00 – 12:30. Enjoyed Takshow With Spike Frestern Much More Than This. At Least It Has Better Use Of It’s 1 Hour Time Last Year!!!
