ThunderCats: Has the New TV Series Been Cancelled?

New ThunderCats canceled on Cartoon Network?Though there hasn’t been any official word, it looks like the new ThunderCats animated series has been cancelled.

A reboot of the 1980s ThunderCats TV show, the new series debuted on Cartoon Network last July with the first of 26 installments. The season was broken up into two parts and the finale aired this past Saturday. There’s been no word of plans for a second season.

What’s more, Cartoon Network announced their plans for the 2012-13 season and ThunderCats was noticeably absent from their list of returning series.

Matthew Mercer is the voice actor for Tygra. His girlfriend is actress Mirisha Ray and she believes that the show has been cancelled so she’s started a website to rally support.

While ThunderCats hasn’t been officially cancelled yet, the signs certainly don’t look positive. When/if we hear something definitive, we’ll be sure to let you know.

What do you think? Has ThunderCats been cancelled or will the show return for a second season? If it has ended, will you miss the series?

WTFrick!!! I was a huge fan of the original, and put off watching this new one until recently just to see what ll the fuss was about… Being a fan of the original, I was very impressed at what they did with the story line and, like most of my family and friends that are now into this, I find out that you guys aren’t even gonna give a season 2 a shot… Like Firefly, this is a hugantic, ginormic mistake… Like EVERYONE on here now,
WE WANT MORE!!!
WE WANT MORE!!!

or

SEASON 2!!!
SEASON 2!!!

Choose your chant, either way, WE WANT MORE!!!

This is an absurd! Why the CN insists in wasting time cancelling good TV-shows like Thundercats, Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Green Lantern and Young Justice?Meanwhile, we are forcedto endure trash TV-shows like “Time of Adventure”, “Regular Show”, etc. What is happening with the Cartton Network?

Indeed, bring us a 2nd season of Thundercats! Cartoon network always cancel the good shows but keep the shit ones like The Amazing world of Gumball and especially Annoying Orange. Seriously? Have y’all watched these shows before? they make me wanna slit my wrists (No Emo) at how bad and stupid they are. These shows need to be taken off the network and fast!

Why do they (those who control the pursestrings) always seem to cancel the best shows. While I didn’t really like the original Thundercats I have thoughly enjoyed the remake
and looked forward to the next season with much anticipation. Finding out that it may be canceled only goes to show how short sighted the producers and people at Cartoon Network really are. It’s hard enough to find animation that appeals to all age groups and now it seems even harder to keep said shows on the air. Bring back the Thundercats – Ho!
