love the show. just discovered it this january 2012. all the cast is great. too bad there isn’t more sitcoms like it. all we usually see now is reality shows that show the worst in people.

I love this show, unfortunately though all good things must come to an end.
I think it did not get the credit that was due.
I found it much funnier than Everybody Loves Raymond & that show ran for nine seasons.
Brad Garrett is a very talented comedian, that brought both of those sitcoms to life.
I got seasons one & two on DVD for Christmas, though the last two seasons are not on DVD. I hope that they become available on DVd soon.

I am not a big fan of sitcom TV, but I hear my husband and daughter laughing all the time while I am watching other shows. I decided to see what was so funny and discovered the best comedy ever! We DVR these shows and I can’t wait to curl up with my family and watch this delightful gem of a show. I am sick that it is no longer on the air! I told my husband that I want all the seasons for Christmas this year. If you haven’t watched you are missing one of the best shows ever! Please Fox bring it back!!!!!!

I love this sit com and still watch the re-runs everyday
it weird to me that the ratings were so low i can only concluded
that most people really don’t know whats good or funny any more
at the same time i can’t stand football or any of those NCSI type shows
that are doing soo well ok so till death is cancelled and jerry springer is still on?
what does that say about america ? IQ’S ARE IN THE TOILET if you ask me.

I loved that show ;but the kenny hit a very strange and went down the weird and wrong road..thought it was a very dumb and unrealistic premise.Upt o then the episodes made u think of someone in your own family;kenny went to far away ;a cousin or other relatives maybe; but for a grown man to be well it did not work for me it was so dumb it was hard to laugh and I loved the show till then.

Just finished watching the last episode of season 4… really sad to see that the show is over. I actually enjoyed it a lot. Dunno how to explain the low ratings, but maybe the departure of the Woodcocks, introduction of Kenny and the constant changing of Ally played a role. Personally i was quite tolerant with the changes, but i guess others werent. For me the changes grew on me and i always found the show interesting and funny. Brad’s a great sitcom character and even though it would kinda feel weird to see him in a third one (after Everybody Loves Raymond and Til Death), i wouldnt think twice about watching it… i wish him great success in whatever he does next.

Woodcocks left the show and it was all downhill from there. I disagree with the whole Brad Garrett isn’t a lead actor in comedy series in fact he carried the show after the first season. The time changes were meant for increasing ratings but just confused people and never found a time slot. Wish it was still on though as I would watch it hoping the storyline would progress past hippie kids moving in. Oh well they made some good episodes and there’s always that……

I cannot beleive that there will be no season 5

I actually never missed a show thanks to rhe fact that my dvr was set to record all new episodes.. I loved it but thonk they should of kept it younger vs older couple instead of the daughter & husband… then it got worse with all the…” i think i”m on a sitcom” bit… Still i never missed an episode & if they ever give reruns I wont miss them…

I was one of those people who never missed one of the episodes of this show and to be honest, I wish I had that time back. The episodes with the woodcocks were decent and I got the jist fo the “old couple”, “new couple” plot which was fresh and original. The characters weren’t great but I felt that Garretts character made up for it in (as another poster mentioned) a Gleason sort of way. There were some interesting storylines in a lot of the episodes and then there were the ones which seemed to be nothing more than “Let’s show off Joely Fishers Rack” as much as possible and work off her “wannabe sex symbol” thing even if she is only mildly attractive (to put it nicely)… In the end it was more about the “shock factor” with the numerous drug references, the political slants and the accompanying GWB digs/Obama props. And again, Joely Fishers breasts, even in anime… ugh. Not sad to see this show leave us, but I wish the best for Brad Garrett in his future ventures.

I currently live in Germany and have purchased every season from day 1. I Loved this show. I don’t know what was going on with all the switching around in the states, My wife and liked it enough to pay for it! I really like Brad Garrett (as a “secondary actor” -i think nowadays we call this supporting actor, but hey- or “main actor”) He’s funny. The not so “goofy” side of him was a nice change to EBLR (we loved that show, too).

I will really miss this show and hope I will see Garrett in another sitcom soon!

‘Til Death was refreshing and I enjoyed it on Sunday at 7:00pm. Television really sucks in general. So, when you add a new format of comedy, It’s hard to get in tune to the regular programing. Something has to improve with a variety of shows, the regular listing of shows are boring and predictable. Bring ‘Til Death back.

Another example of a network accidentally/on purpose killing a perfectly good series by moving the schedule around so much, that nobody can find it.
Personally, I enjoyed the Saturday 7PM time slot for this show, with Archer at 8.
That worked for me.
But the show needed a home day, and a home time.
Brad Garret has that comedic face and comedy timing that reminds me of Jacky Gleason. And I love that.
I think he has the horsepower to carry any show to legendary status if they set him up right and put it in a steady time slot…..any time time slot…..
AND KEEP IT THERE SO PEOPLE CAN FIND THE DAMN THING.

The quickest way to kill a show, any show, is to start jacking the time & day around until people give up and lose interest……and then announce “oh, it was down in the ratings”.
That’s bullshit, the show did not die because the show was bad, the show was not bad, the show was funny.
It died because it was poorly scheduled and poorly managed by the network. Plain and simple.
They handicapped that show by changing the day in the very first season, and then they just kept thrashing the schedule until it died of one thousand cuts.

It is very frustrating to try to tune in to a show that is supposed to be on Thursday night, only find out that the schedule changed and it’s now on Wednesday night, then it’s Tuesday night, then it’s Friday night, then it’s Saturday.
I missed a bunch of episodes because the network is too busy fagging up on the show sched. and then complaining that people are not watching.

This show premiered on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2006.
On March 14, 2007, they moved it to Wednesday.
That alone, is enough to cripple most new shows.
Then there was a 1 year gap from Wednesday, October 8, 2008,
to October 2, 2009 which is a Friday, so the day changed AGAIN.
Then they took a nine week break on Oct 23 and dumped 4 episodes on Christmas day.
Then they moved it to Sunday.

jim if u don’t care about til death, why are u spending your time commenting negatively on it?
i am such a fan of brad garrett and think he is a true star and maybe the only reason this show didn’t take off is because people first got used to him as “robert” on everybody loves raymond, and then “eddie” is very different (negative about things, etc.) and maybe it alienated people (and also, this show, though i still love it, had raunchier humor than “raymond” viewers might care for, and also at times a kind of a sad point of view on marriage… it was just different and not everyone’s cup of tea.)

…i hope that brad (and joely fisher as well) go on to star as leads again in great, funny new projects, i can’t wait to get to watch them on tv again and am so sad it won’t be together as eddie and joy, they were so fun together!

I wish I could join you all in the lovefest, but this show sucked ass. The main problem is that Brad Garrett is NOT a main actor. He’s a secondary actor. He is not funny as the main guy. He can’t hold it down, and that’s where the show was doomed to fail from the beginning.

This show just wasn’t every funny, and the public didn’t think so either. The ratings were never there. I’m surprised it lasted for 80+ episodes. That’s impressive for show so lame. Honestly though, I think like “How I Met Your Mother” are even worse, yet they somehow they’ve become so popular. Sometimes it’s just right place right time, because if that show had aired back in TV’s hayday, it would’ve never made it past pilot. The acting is poor and the jokes are lame. It seems like all sitcoms are mostly like this, except for the Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men which are both really good shows, but would still be second bananas to sitcoms of the glory days.

It’s a shame how far TV has fallen. I barely watch TV anymore. The internet is so much more entertaining.

This was one of the WORST shows ever. Fox is a terrible network anyway, but I’m shocked it made it past the pilot. And sitcoms on CBS seem to last forever, even though most if not all aren’t funny unless you’re a moron[such shows like big bang theory,everybody loves raymond,king of queens, two and a half men,how I met your mother,etc]Really anyone that could stand to watch anything on that network must really not understand comedy/formula. I think it’s funny that a show like “How I met your mother” speaks of “Douches” yet the show features the biggest on televison.Modern Family and everything for NBC thursday nights are a lot funnier and thats not my opinion its just common knowledge.

To this day, I think Brad Garrett had a say in the “ending of the Woodcocks or departure” I can completely picture that self absorbed ass worrying that those actors were getting too many laughs. Everytime he appears on any award show… he has to let the world know that “he was the funny one” on Raymond.

I stopped watching the show after the Woodcocks (actors) left the show…….. Maybe Garrett will learn from this….

This was a funny sitcom at times. I hated the new actresses though. That’s what ruined it for me. They had one really hot actress as Ally and the others were just bad. The newer supporting actors also weren’t very good. It just went to far from the original idea.

I liked the show in the beginning. I think it never recovered following the writers strike. A lot of the writing and material had really gone south. The show was done by the people who gave us ‘The King of Queens’, and often re-hashed story lines from that series. The show started to show some promise with new characters, but the mediocre writing indicated the show was just hanging on. Glad to see it was finally put to a rest. I wanted to laugh like I once did at this show, but alas there was nothing left to laugh about.

This show was pretty good with the Woodcocks, (heh, you said woodcock) but I love the way they stuck it to the network after they changed it.
They know it’s the final season so they swapped the daughter like 3 times, started talking to the audience (hilarious), and even hired out a cartoonist.

Take that Fox. Ruin a good show and see what they can do out of spite.

Thanks for the input on the Woodcocks, Adam. I also agree with you about Rules of Engagement. It turned out to be one of the better programs as of late, comedy wise that is. I always liked the Puddy character on Seinfeld and his dry and wry sense of humor shines through on this show. David Slade ain’t to bad either. I do believe that the networks, more than half the time, have no clue as to what we fans find funny or interesting.

The rating system they depend on in my opinion is flawed. Not spread out enough, maybe. I just know that programs like Life, Shark and Life on Mars were never given a fighting chance. Shark, especially! Because on this crap I started collecting TV DVD boxed sets about 4 years ago. I now have 1321 individual boxed sets. From Seinfeld and Mash to Mission Impossible to Criminal Minds. From all the Star Treks to all the Stargates. Right now I am up to 127 complete different series. Like all 11 seasons of Mash and I now have 12 of the 14 seasons of Dallas. I did not remember Dallas being on for that long. Season 13 coming on April 13. 207 partial programs. And looking for 142 more names that don’t have the first season out yet.

I found a website that has all the programs ever made from 1947 until the present by year. I scoured this list and came up with about 500 of the approximate 5-6000 programs listed that I wanted in my collection. I am 63, retired and partially disabled and watch a lot of TV. Will I ever run out of things to watch. I think not. So the major networks better get their act together before I just give up and slowly sink into oblivion with all my precious TV DVD boxed sets!!!

so feeling everyone’s comments… i feel like, if the people in charge were to read (comments) “out there” (’round the net), u keep hearing people say generally how much they liked the woodocks AND were totally alienated by all the changes (losing the woodcocks, the different daughter actresses, and… kenny. i found kenny to be very crude.) …why did they keep changing things at will? people will only put up with so much of that stuff, and now this network has managed to kill another show that, for a time i really enjoyed and looked forward to.
…and i was so happy to see brad garrett shine, though this show (being on fox, don’t know what else i expected i guess) was too raunchy for my taste …i hope brad garrett will try again, with another network (back to cbs if possible! i think cbs’ writers …except two and a half men, which really just relies on dirty jokes… produce some of the best network comedy i currently know of – the big bang theory is such a cool show, and jay mohr is so funny on gary unmarried.) on tv for many years to come!

I already knew this was going to happen. I mean, the show’s people pretty much knew that as well. Why else would they go crazy with a character constantly breaking the fourth wall, adding new random characters, an episode with cartoon elements? Seriously, if they knew the show was going to last, they would not have done that. Fox did screw it over by cutting it off midseason last season and airing episodes out of order. I’m still confused as to what the storyline is supposed to be and how it should have gone down. You could tell they were burning out episodes. This announcent is no surprise to me.

From what I understand, the actors who played the Woodcocks wanted to do other things. Kenny’s character was cut at the end of the third season to make room for a different newlywed couple. The show was never really about the other characters anyways.

If you liked Till Death at least when it first came out, you might like Rules of Engagement. It is currently on CBS at 8:30/7:30 Central on Mondays.

The War at home, Do not disturb, Back to you, Dark Angel, The Loop, Brothers, Drive, Happy Hour, Past Life, Justice, and a lot more witch Til Death just joined, what do these shows have in common, these are shows Fox canceled that were good shows. Some of witch were canceled after three episodes. Fox YOU SUCK!!!! American idol is way f**kin overrated as is the stupid gordon Ramsey shows. What the F**K is wrong you guys?? I mean really. Next your gonna cancel Lie to me and Sons of tucson to piss more people off come on don’t Bulls**t me. But then again, I heard theres a possibility you jerkoffs mught cancel 24. Is that true because if it is then you guys suck more than I thought. Maybe you guys should avertise your shows better or something for you not to cancel show after show. I know it’s definantly not gonna happen anytime soon but maybe you should cancel American idol because A. its overated and B. it eats up a big chunk of the schedule. This is bullcrap!!!!! Til Death was like the best sitcom in a long while. Yet Fox canceled yet another good sitcom. But on the other hand I guess it dodged a bullet and got a 4th season. It’s like a rockstar starting to rap when you hate rap. Fox I love you and hate so much at the same time. With you giving Gordon Ramsey three F**king shows now and canceling so many good shows. Now Sons of Tucson will be offically the last sitcom I watch on Fox. Witch I’m sure they’ll just cancel that too. Duh!!! Mother F**KERS!!!!!!

I really liked the show but why did they keep re-casting the daughter? That was confusing and I hated her BF. Loved Kenny. Woodcocks were OK. And I really liked the other teacher (actor’s name is Nick?) with the red hair. I’m sorry to see the show end but with the sporadic airings, it didn’t really have a chance.

I somewhat liked the first season, the contrast between a young couple and an older couple. But for the last few years this show enraged me. I HATE HATE HATE this show and for the last few years been only checking the trade papers for the death of this show.

I rarely hate any show, let alone hate it with a passion, but this show did it. Finding out ‘Til Death is canceled is the high point of my day.

My wife and I really enjoyed Til Death after all after 25 yrs of marriage we could identify. It seems like these networks dont really get what people want to watch . They dont get it. We didn’t enjoy the series changing people every season and what was up with the 4 daughters? Don’t move shows around so much. If it weren’t for my dvr I would never have found it.
Oh and Joely is SOOOO HOTTT and sexy. Bring it back!!!

Same with this show. The first season was really funny. And Steph Woodcock was one of the funniest female characters I’ve ever seen in a sitcom. Now Til Death has just been a disaster. I’m just watching it to see what ridiculous thing they air next. It’s just become a joke. Has anyone noticed the lame sound effects between scenes that were randomly added in?

This is another example of when Fox messes with a sitcom. They messed with the Short-lived gem “The Loop”, they got rid of Piper and the other girl. They just can’t let a show run it’s course and grow into something good. I mean this last season of ‘Til Death was awful. That who’ll thing with Doug thinking he’s on a sitcom got so old so fast it’s not even funny. Then they had it where everyone was in a disney cartoon form, and that didn’t even make any sense. Plus the show this last season had such bad similarities to Married… With Children. Plus when it first premiered it had the funny show “Happy Hour’ on the same night that never got a chance becuase of the World series. Plus it went from being in the top 50 show of the week to 114 of 120 shows.

The only reason this show failed was becuase of Fox, and if Fox is reading this…stop MESSING WITH SHOWS.

I happened to really like Til Death. I especially liked the first season but I really didn’t like the Kenny character so much. Kinda wonder why they got rid of the Woodcocks? Liked them a lot. If they would have brought the show back to the lst year premise, I personally think they would have done better. I really think Brad and Joey had very good chemistry, like god made them for each other!
