In March, CBS handed down a lot of early renewals for next season. The network is doing very well so there weren’t any surprises in the bunch. One show that wasn’t mentioned was Unforgettable. Does this series have a chance at being renewed or is it doomed to be cancelled?
Unforgettable revolves around Carrie Wells (Poppy Montgomery), a woman who has an incredible memory. She can recall every place, day, and conversation that she’s ever had — except some key details of the day her sister died and it haunts her. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Walsh, Michael Gaston, Kevin Rankin and Daya Vaidya.
The show debuted last September to a 2.9 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic with 14.09 million total viewers. Over the course of the hour, 13% of the viewers who started watching the premiere tuned out before it was finished. That’s not a great sign but still, Unforgettable easily won its timeslot, airing opposite two established shows; ABC’s Body of Proof and NBC’s Parenthood.
In week two, Unforgettable not surprisingly dropped 14% in the demo. It was still doing quite well and ended up getting a full season pickup. Over the course of the season however, the ratings have dwindled downward. The latest episode registered a 1.8 demo rating and 10.66 million viewers.

While Unforgettable’s total viewership is still impressive, the demo is not. CBS shows tend to skew older and the network has many shows that get a better demo with more viewers. On our CBS Ratings Report Card, Unforgettable gets a “D+” for its relative demo rating.
If CBS weren’t doing as well as it is, Unforgettable would probably get a renewal. That’s not the case and, coupled with the fact that the show’s ratings have been slipping, it looks very likely that the show will be cancelled instead.
CBS has already renewed most of their current shows for next season and they realistically need the rest of the timeslots to try new programming. In addition, it looks like CBS is going to try a two-hour block of sitcoms on Thursday nights so that will leave one fewer hour for dramas.
It’s really competitive to find a spot of the CBS schedule and it would seem that Unforgettable just hasn’t measured up.

please keep unforgetable on the air i only had to watch channel 2 all night on tuesday it was one of the 3 it became a rituall all the shows on 2 are great but on tuesday they are all just exceptional please please keep them all going

i was so happy to watch such a wonderful show…. unforgettable ….every tuesday i looked looked forward to hanging out with carrie and al for one wonderful hour……such a shame to cancel this show….please bring it back………..please…..
unforgettable worked for me .Carrie is a beautiful girl and very believable in her character aand dylan walsh is a veteran actor whose relationship with her had many different angles kept it interesting and funny at the same time. Of all the shows introduced last year this was one that I enjoyed the most. i mean cut the very forgetable Boss show . Who can really believe that with the cameras in front of workers that they do not know that a normal employee does not get that kind of attention. cbs has the best line up of all the networks. I ONLY WATCH CBS. to take this and CSI miami off is a bad move.my wife likes unforgetable because a woman is the hero and it is not gory

I hope that the producers pitch it to another network cause we will follow Unforgettable anywhere – sorry you for your future loss of 13 million viewers CBS. You blew it and we are furious. There are no words for such bad judgement and you should be fired – NOT the show!
PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL UNFORGETTABLE! It’s a great show! At least give the show a second shot! There are so many other shows out there that I personally think don’t deserve another season, yet they are still on! Sometimes the first season of shows isn’t as great as the second, third, fourth, and so on! Give it a chance!
No It should’nt be cancelled!~ I love this show. It was the same thing when they cancelled Lie to me! I don’t get it when they have these wonderful shows and then take them off! I don’t ever go by the first pilot. You can’t base it on that. There’s alot of new shows that come out at the same time and you can’t possible watch all of them. So it should be based on a year or season rather. Very Very disappointed that they are cancelling this show. But yet, they keep stupid shows that have no value on the air without thinking. Not happy! WHAT A LET DOWN!
Unforgettable, A Gifted Man and A Person of Interest have been great shows in the CBS lineup. To discontinue them is ridiculous. Perhaps the time slots on Unforgettable and A Gifted Man should have been changed to see if there was a conflict. Get real – stop taking away shows which are different and interesting. I am hoping Person of Interest isn’t on a chopping block next.

This is so ridiculous three shows that I like have been cancelled all good shows. This show has an excellent cast, interesting storyline and does not deserve to be cancelled. Cancel The Jersey Shore and all the other reality shows with low life people.

It’s an ok show, but seems like they cbs could find something better to make them a three hour powerhouse on tuesdays. although for 10-16 weeks that third hour would be hurting when sons of anarchy is on. Think unforgettable deserves another season in a different timeslot if they bring the rest of the cast more into the show. i mean the show was basically all about carrie, when there is an excellent cast they have to work with, that they could pull their stories more to the front
