I don't like the 'hiatus' idea - The build-up was great but you need to keep the momentum going...And, with a complex series (such as Sci-Fi), you need the continuity to keep the story in mind. So, I don't really understand why ABC is making this silly choice. I think it's a mistake. And, I don't agree with the ridiculous promo of sky-writing 'V' in various locations. That's a waste of time and has very limited appeal.

Here in SA we pay a small fortune for our Satalite TV, and they in turn pay a small fortune for the programs, So it's a real pain in the butt when we get " the latest blockbuster from American TV" only to have it end shortly after it started. FOR EG !!!!!! Invasion, Vanished, Jerico, Pushing Daisies, Firefly, and many others. But, when you have Bean Counters in charge, and not the artists... this is the order of the day.

I am looking forward to V. Both my wife and I watched V before we got together. I downloaded it as she sounded like she wanted to watch it again. I looked at a couple of episodes, not quite as good as I remembered it as a teen. Hopefully the revamped version will be akin to the upgrade they gave Battlestar Galactica.

I too hate when they air one or more episodes of a new series and then make viewers wait sometimes almost a year before continuing as in the case of the Battlestar Galactica spin off Caprica. Changing the day a show airs does not really affect me. Both tactics are used to reduce risk and make more money for the cable companies without regard for the viewers. Well I show them the same regard and download my shows and watch them commercial free on my schedule. Before someone flames me, I have most of the specialty channels and movie channels and pay over $200/month for cable, so I pay my dues. I feel as such, it is then my choice when and how to view the shows I pay to receive.

I think it's a dumb move...imo anytime you start a new show and then put it on hold you're going to lose numbers.

Just like starting a show on a Tuesday and with a few episodes in "moving" it to Friday (or any other night).

Viewers LIKE to be able to get a routine down and look forward to their shows...and enough time for that routine to feel comfortable. Screw with the schedule and make people miss episodes and storylines and you will see the numbers plummet.

So again, imo...I think it's a bad move ;)
