Wedding Band: Cancelled by TBS, No Season Two

Wedding Band TV show cancelledTBS has cancelled Wedding Band after one season. The sitcom ran for 10 episodes on Saturday nights and completed its run this past Saturday at 10pm.

Wedding Band revolves around a group of four adult friends who perform in a wedding band in their spare time. The show features the talents of Brian Austin Green, Derek Miller, Harold Perrineau, Peter Cambor, Jenny Wade, Kathryn Fiore, and Melora Hardin.

The show debuted on November 10th to 1.85 million viewers with a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic. The ratings for subsequent installments were quite a bit lower and fell as low as 937,000 viewers.

While Wedding Band won’t be back for a second season, TBS still has several original sitcoms — Sullivan and Son, Men at Work, and Cougar Town. All of those essentially draw about twice as many viewers as Wedding Band did.

What do you think? Did you like Wedding Band? Are you sorry that it’s been cancelled and won’t be back for a second season?

This show was fantastic … I think another network should pick it up and manage the time slot and marketing of the show better.

This show was original. This show was funny. The viewer cared about the characters. TBS did not give it a chance. How about even 1/3 of the advertising that the crappy show Cougar Town had. That show sucks but TBS is picking it back up. Even my wife liked Wedding Band. We recorded it on the DVR and watched it the next day. It needs a second season. I loved Jenny Wade and the rest of the cast did a great job. I am so tired of smart comedy being cancelled. Is america really just full of hillbillies and welfare moms that just want to sit around and watch “pseudo” reality garbage. I weep for the future.

This was a terrific show. The actors played well off of one another. TBS didn’t give it enough of a chance. Hopefully some other network will pick it up.

I don’t think they gave wedding band enough time. 10:30 is a difficult timeslot to achieve 1 million viewers after 10 episodes! You need to give it time for the word to spread or show it at 9:30 (one hour can make all the difference) I though it was a very funny and interesting show. It beats the other shows TBS has at the moment sure Sullivan and Son, Men at Work, and Cougar Town get better ratings but they’ve all been done. Wedding band is the first music orintated show aimed at men (men also take longer to let their egos go to watch something new). The comedy side is good too and the ‘relationship’ between Tommy and Rachael compels women. It covers all adult fan bases and should be given the opportunity to gain momentum (show the first seaon again at 9:30 and poll the audience who wants more episodes)

You definitely need to bring this show back. This show was great and I looked forward to it each week. I am in my 50’s and thought it was fun, current and they sang pretty well too. Let us know what to do to help get this show back, but you should consider a better time slot so more people get to see it.

I LOVE THIS SHOW! Please bring it back! I really think it was the Saturday time slot that was the problem, because the show was amazing and the cast seemed to really click and work well together. I couldn’t wait to watch it each week! Pleeeeeeeeeease! #WedingBand4ever ~:)

Bring this show back! I found it extremely entertaining! It does need a better time slot. I found I had to dvr it for later, but then I could watch episodes over and over. It needs another shot!

I highly enjoyed it. It is one of the few tv shows I follow now. I mainly got into it because of the music, the songs and genre it allowed the viewers to be introduced or reminded through a wedding band is something that is missing from tv nowdays. But mainly it offered a different cover of original song, which was what was the draw-in element for me. but yes if the show set saturday night, TBS should expect low view, it is a bad time slot, as bad as friday evening.

I thought this was a great show and thought for sure it was doing better than I now know. The time slot sucked. I think it should get another shot at a better time slot on a better day when people are actually home watching TV. Not on a Saturday night when everybody is out living and having fun. Give this show a second season a better time slot because this was my favorite new show and I watch a lot of TV, more than I should and I couldn’t wait to watch this Sunday morning on dvr cause I was out on sat like most people
