After three rounds and nearly five thousand votes, our readers have spoken. The show that gets the title of “TV’s most-hated, popular show” is a little bit of a surprise, but not much.
In round one, we asked you to make a tough choice: Select a popular and/or long-running show that you don’t like and would like to see cancelled. Interestingly, Supernatural didn’t receive any votes. The Big Bang Theory, Brothers & Sisters, Criminal Minds, CSI: NY, The Good Wife, House, How I Met Your Mother, Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, The Mentalist, NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, and Private Practice received only a handful of votes each.
The top five “winners” from round one were American Idol, The Bachelor/Bachelorette, CSI: Miami, Heroes, Survivor, and The Vampire Diaries. A diverse group going into round two.
After the second round of voting, there were two shows that were the clear “winners.” Despite attracting millions and millions of viewers each week, a lot of people seem to hate American Idol and The Bachelor/Bachelorette.
Those two shows duked it out in round three for two weeks and we now have “victor.” The Bachelor/Bachelorette is clearly despised by more people — by a margin of nearly two to one. Congratulations?
Interestingly, American Idol was looking like it would be the clear winner back in the first round. Did something happen recently to sour people on The Bachelor/Bachelorette? Is this current season that bad?
What do you think about the results? Do you agree? Do you think American Idol would have been the “winner” if we’d played the game next month, when Idol is in full swing and The Bachelor’s current season has finished?

I have never been interested in American Idol or The Bachellor/Bachellorette. They are just unappealing. Plus I think it’s time for some new shows, they’ve been on air long enough. A show I wish didn’t make the list was House, it’s a great show, as is Brother’s and Sisters. I would not mind any of the others on that list being cancelled though.
If you hate the show, then DON’T WATCH IT.
I don’t believe that “The Big Bang Theory” would be cancelled. this is a great show….
Yes the Bachelor/Bachelorette can go….cancell it…
I never made it through the first season of The Bachelor/Bachelorette. This show ranks at the top of the list of the worst 5 shows in TV history! Why anyone would want to go on TV and expose the most intimate details of the most important decision they are ever going to make in their lives is completely beyond me. Obviously the same person at ABC that makes the decisions on what shows to “keep”, feels they are qualified to throw a group of handpicked individuals at someone and they are going to find their “one true love” out of this group. The show itself is ludicrous and the contestants by all rights should be thoroughly embarrassed by their involvement!
I enjoy The Bachelor/Bachelorette, and would like to see it continue.
Yank this crap already!!!
I think American Idol would have and should have won, ultimately most of the winners do not have strong careers anyway so it seems a waste.
I think American Idol would have won hands down if we were further into their season! I hope this is the end of that show!!!!!
