Things are looking up for NBC’s Whitney sitcom. After being renewed for a second season last May, the peacock network scheduled the show for a Friday night run.
Last month, they put those plans on hold and ended up using it to replace now-cancelled Animal Practice on Wednesday nights, a much better night. Now, NBC has ordered five additional scripts.
While the scripts may not be put into production, it’s a positive sign that NBC hasn’t given up on the show. Whitney returns next Wednesday, on November 14th. It’ll be paired with Guys with Kids, a freshman sitcom that received an order for five additional scripts last month.
What do you think? Are you looking forward to the return of Whitney on NBC? Do you think the network will order additional episodes?

I love Whitney and am thrilled it’s starting again soon. I think they should order more episodes.
I’m sure it will get more episodes, considering how the competing sitcoms on the network are doing. While The Office and 30 have just lost their mojos, ‘not a austin powers’ pun, this show always had me laughing. Whitney Cummings is one very funny woman. 2 broke girls and this show were definitely on the top 5 best new shows last season. They better order a full season.
