Women’s Murder Club: ABC Kills Angie Harmon Series’ Chances for Season Two

IMAGEWith October Road and Men in Trees now cancelled, ABC seems to be on a killing spree – not unlike the “Kiss-Me-Not” killer on Women’s Murder Club. With that in mind, it makes sense that Murder Club would be the network’s next casualty.

ABC’s Women’s Murder Club, based on the popular James Patterson books, debuted on October 12, 2007. Viewer and critical reception was mixed. Almost 11 million viewers tuned in for the series premiere but as few as eight million returned for later episodes. More importantly, the TV show’s percentage of the 18-49 demographic dropped as well. The show typically skews older which is essentially a sin in TV ratings.

After the writers strike finished, it looked like Murder Club was done but ABC decided to give it another chance. They fired the show’s executive producers, hired new ones and order three additional episodes to complete the season. The series then returned to primetime after a three month absence. Unfortunately, the numbers didn’t get any better.

The crime drama has now been officially cancelled but, fortunately for fans, they’ll get to see all of the produced episodes. Episode 13, titled “Never Tell”, is scheduled to air tomorrow night. Will the “Kiss-Me-Not” killer be brought to justice by the time the series ends? Stay tuned! TV Series Finale home page

It’s a shame this show was canceled. I don’t get how it’s appeal to older viewers is a sin, don’t they matter when it comes to something to view on the screen? It was one of the best shows on but yet people want to watch Dancing with The Stars.

This cancellation is a shame and a clear example how the studio execs are not in tune with the public. THEY SUCK!!!!

I kept watching for the return of Women’s Murder Club – never saw where it was to be shown. Now you tell me it returned to only be cancelled. How about it was the fault of the Producers and not the cast and crew of the TV show?

What a loss for fans, because of ABC’s narrow mindedness and lack of vision.
What a great show, with awesome potential, great cast, writers and all who put the show together. congrats.
Please, will a wise and rational network please pick up this gem of a show with cast and all who put it together, and run with it.? They did a great job.
Thank you! :)

I am a little late getting into the show, i am overseas and i watch it on AFN but i cannot believe it was canceled…that was a really good show. I was extrememly disappointed when i found out that it was cancelled. The actors were great and so was the flow of the show. BRING IT BACK, please. Seriously if there was troubles with the show and it was taken off and then put back on, don’t you think that maybe it was a little difficult for people to find it again? like i said BRING IT BACK PLEASE!

All i can say is huge mistake. Huge, huge mistake. Great book series, great show, and a great filling of cast . And i watch a lot of these types of shows. I was extremely dissappointed it will not return. I think the network should think of its lost viewership as a casualuty of the strike and not of the shows quality and give it another try. i have been wainting thinking that it may start in the new year……you still have a chance !! What a horrible mistake! I LOVE WMC! Please bring it back! Enough of these rediculous reality tv shows. What a shame, ABC! It’s getting to where I don’t watch tv at all because of things like this.

wonder what you people concider a hit show . i dont watch too many shows on abc but this one i really liked you may have been able to give cbs a run for the money in the same time slot. this was a great combination of drama, mystery and great acting. when there are such shows as ghost whisperer on tv i really look for something more realistic and not just realitiy so this was worth watching. you made a big mistake cancelling wmc, guess i will stick with CBS you now have very little to pull me away
